Booked the suite family room for 1 night stay, it was absolutely wonderful. The room was very well equipped and a decent size for a family of 4 too. It was lovely to see the good selection of teas / coffees too with a generous amount of milk / sugar to enjoy your drink with unlike the stingy amount you get with well known chain hotels! Breakfast was absolutely delicious too and cooked to perfection, the girl serving the breakfasts was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. We had a really nice walk down to the entertainment complex at the end of the road on the evening which offers live entertainment/ disco for kids etc. There's a sign up saying renovations are ongoing but that didn't affect our stay at all. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.... Thank you!

Only a 1 night stay but what a wonderful stay we had!

We booked to stay for the weekend but due to a family emergency back home only stayed for 1 full night and half a night. We found the owners to be super friendly, so helpful and kind. Offered local information. Had a good chat with them and their daughter is very professional and a lovely girl too. The breakfast was very nice I had the avocado on toast with poached eggs and husband had English breakfast, daughter had jam on toast and a pain au chocolat. Coffee and fresh juice are also available as well as water and teas. Our room had a double and 1 single bed, a wardrobe dressing table which had a kettle and tea, coffee making facilities aswell as biscuits, 2 bedside tables and a really good sized en suite bathroom with shower cubicle. We were on the top floor and the views are great. The grounds are gorgeous and are kept lovely. Very pretty. Although it is right next to the railway track we didn't once hear a train pass. It's very quiet. 
Overall we had a lovely stay even though it was cut short. Hospitality of the couple who run this place is great and the location is a short drive from the seaside town or Barmouth, castle a short drive away and some waterfalls about 17 minutes drive where you can pay £4 for a car for the day and go on a nature walk or riverside walk and follow it up the falls. Stunning. Perfect location. Will definitely come back. Thank you

Just home from a two night stay at Cadwgan House, we absolutely love it and its for us s home from home. If you want a bland chain hotel experience then this is not the place for you but if you want somewhere homely, quirky and one of a kind you will love it! The location is amazing, peaceful and beautiful between the mountains and the beach with a train station on the doorstep for easy access to many local places. 
Jo , Richard and Scarlett are brilliant hosts and make you feel very welcome, Scarlett's table service is excellent, a very polite and efficient young woman. 
We stay in room 3 which is the 4 poster room, it is a good size, well equipped and comfortable with all the necessary amenities and a fabulous view.
I'm sad that some people have posted negative reviews, the owners are renovating and this should be taken into account when booking but it does not detract from the overall experience in my humble opinion! 
Love, love, love this place and we hope to visit again before our booking this time next year. 

Another fantastic weekend in our favourite place! 

Ive never left a review but felt this needed one.  Richard and Jo were the perfect hosts.   They couldn't have been more helpful in making sure my stay was enjoyable, even dropping me to the station when my taxi didnt arrive.  I stayed in the large room with double bath and 4 poster bed...excellent views, very clean and comfy bed.  I would definitely recommend.

Couldn't have found a better place to stay!

I can’t understand some of these reviews, this place is heartwarming and nice to stay in the owners were kind and polite and the staff at breakfast were also polite. The room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in. I would recomend going there for a holiday with friends or family. The place is also homely furnished not modern.

Just stopped to visit friends for a few days and I must say that it was amazing. The staff there were polite and kind and the service was amazing at breakfast and the room was spotless. To say that this place was over my expectations is an understatement due to how kind they all were throughout my stay. Their breakfast menu options were done for a wide variety and the variety of items on the bar were amazing. 10/10 would recomend

Amazing place would recomend

Absolutely love this place, it's our new home from home, third time we have stayed and was fabulous as usual. Rooms are well appointed, comfortable, clean and homely.  The location is perfect, a short stroll down to the beach and seconds from the railway station. Views from the 3 rooms we have stayed in are beautiful, fields, mountains and the sea in the distance.  Breakfast is of excellent quality, cereal, fruit, patisserie items, yogurt along with a cooked English is served a little earlier than we would choose (from 8 till 9) that said it motivates us to get an early start and not miss a minute of our time away!  Walks from the hotel are amazing, set off in any direction and you will not be disappointed.  Onsite parking is included in your stay and there are well maintained gardens to sit and relax in. Feel it necessary to mention previous negative reviews I have read... please ignore them as this is a fantastic place to stay!! 

Another amazing weekend 

Everything has been done to make this a most pleasant place to stay.  A spacious bedroom with four poster bed,very well equipped bathroom.  Breakfast was generous and lovely with a wide range of cereals,juice,pastries and traditional cooked breakfast.  Other reviews mention an unpleasant smell. I could detect this vaguely on the stairs but certainly not in the room or breakfast area. Don't let this put you off. This is a really lovely place to stay.

A real gem!

On arrival we were met by Richard and Jo who made us feel very welcome throughout the duration of our stay.
Our room was spacious and clean with beautiful views.
 The breakfast was excellent with a vast array of things to choose from. There was also a good selection of drinks in the bar.
Jo and Richard went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
Will would definitely go there again.

Great time at this Hotel

Just stayed here for three nights with my Partner  and would thoroughly recommend this Hotel to you. Run by a lovely family who were very friendly and keen to please. Rooms were well equipped, clean and comfortable with a good shower.Location is great, 10 mins walk to the beach and only a short drive to Barmouth and Portmadog. Breakfast was excellent with plenty to fill you up for a busy day. Bar is well stocked, they even had sambuca ! As no evening meal is available here, you need to find somewhere else to eat. We found many local Pubs difficult to get a meal in unless you had booked a table, so plan ahead. There appears to be a real shortage of staff in the hospitality sector round here and so some Pubs are struggling to offer normal service. Otherwise a great short holiday, with visits to Portmerion and the Ffestiniog railway recommended. Thank you to Jo and Richard for a memorable stay !
