Well, the only redeeming feature of this hotel was the big tasty well cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning !  It just about made up for the lack of towels and soap available in the room !  

We had booked this hotel as it was near to the location of a friends big birthday party, it seemed reasonably priced and we just needed a place to rest our heads on the Saturday night before driving home the next day.  Friends were staying at this venue too.  Our room was of a decent size had a newly refurbished bathroom with small 1500mm showerbath.  It had a hanging rail for clothes with 2 coat hangers, no wardrobe or drawers at all.  It did have a small wall hung TV which worked, kettle and 2 cups and a good supply of tea bags,milk packs and sugar, but we had to ask for spoons.  The bed was a normal double with thin cheap mattress and bedding.  We slept OK but felt achy when we first awoke.  All in all, you get what you pay for, this room was £60 for the 2 of us for a night, and they threw the breakfast in for free, free Wi Fi came as standard (as it does at most places theses days) and it is just as well considering !

We went to The Bev Saturday afternoon for our Diamond Wedding meal,with about 30 family.The meal was absolutely  amazing. The meal was served  quickly and efficiently. The food was hot and delicious. No complaints  from anyone.

Another lovely family meal/ party

Not a nice place to stay, was run down, paper peeling and carpet worn out. We had two rooms, a family and a double, one had the heating stuck on full blast the other had no heating, both bathrooms were in no condition to use mould round the sealer and dirt in the bathtubs, clearly not been cleaned. Beds were hard and had springs sticking up all over the place, daughter had to sleep on top her duvet because of a spring. It's cheap and with good reason.

Cheap with good reason 

Very poorly maintained room, dirty stained carpet, stains and damage from previous leak on ceiling, bedside lamp shade broken, no plug in either shower or sink, loose plug socket by bed, bathroom door damaged and rusty shower rail. Uncomfortable beds and probably the thinest duvets I have seen. Overall a disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money paid.

Very disappointed with condition of room 

This is without doubt the worse accommodation I have ever stayed in. It was booked solely on the hotels own website and pictures provided followed up by a telephone call to the hotel before booking. I was charged £245 for myself my wife , daughter and 2 year old granddaughter. As we arrived at nighttime the horror wasn’t to be seen until the following morning. Filty is an understatement, no toiletries in bathroom at all, 4 towels , torn carpets, mould on walls, broken beer bottles at entrance, cigarettes nuts everywhere, weeds, stagnant smell in room. Won’t take cash ( no Prior warning ) . Only good thing was the 2 girls at reception. Absolutely a disgrace to be allowed stay open. 

Disgusting Filty place 

The worst hotel. Do not stay or eat. Vile. I have requested a refund. The hotel photos do not match what you book. The rooms are disgusting and the food is horrible. Dirty, outdated, never been hoovered. 

Worst hotel ever 

Went for a family Xmas dinner yesterday. Restaurant and table lovely. Service great. Food was lovely, plentiful and hot, but only if you eat meat. Vegetarians and vegans beware. Just because you don’t eat meat you are not entitled to have a meat free xmas dinner, you have to have to have a small vegetable mousakka with a small salad! What’s festive about that? And when I say small, I mean small. Whilst the carnivores at the table had so much turkey they left some, I had to order a pizza when I got home. How can you possibly be charged the same amount? The profit they must be making from the markup on a vegetarian meal is disgusting. Very disappointed.

Never staying here again, had a full refund, absolutely disgusting, look at the pictures, dust everywhere, broken and dirty kettle, curtain hanging off and shower just horrific, bed was like a brick, felt like there was no mattress 

Never again 

Stayed here one night whilst visiting the common wealth games. Initial impressions from the front it looks great, modern, clean. Plenty of parking. Some of the pics on here are a little old.

Modern reception, the staff were friendly and helpful with regards taxis and transport.

Unfortunately the room we stayed in was an absolute disgrace. The floor was dirty and hadn’t been hoovered for weeks. Someone had also smashed the toilet door in. 

I complained and was offered £50 of free meals / drinks which was very kind but also perhaps a little shallow as we had literally just been discussing how we were leaving imminently to the Games. 

The staff were lovely though (I can’t stress enough) and we did get a couple of free pints when we got back later that night.

I have attached photos so you can see for your self but even the walls were dirty, mucky hand prints etc. Evidence of leaks on the ceiling and around the boiler. Waste oil, rubbish bags and evidence of vermin right outside the windows.

I have already reported these concerns to the council as this is peoples health at risk. The smoke alarms in our room were dirty and one had handprints round like someone had tried to disconnect it. The room did smell of cigs when we first came in.

Finally, someone in the next room decided to stand outside smoking weed most of the night so that added to the lovely aroma.

All in all, avoid 2 stars at very best I’m afraid. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that but rooms wise, it’s not great. 

It’s dirt cheap for the location don’t get me wrong, but I still expect places to be safe and clean!

Stayed June 2022!!! This hotel ticks all of the wrong boxes. Its past 2.30am in the morning... I can't sleep in this dump. I thought it was illegal to leave a hotel in this state... And have people pay!!! In fact this is not a hotel, its a low standard one star bed and breakfast or hostel. The pics taken in my room are embarrassing. V old carpet, holes in the walls, mildew in bathroom, peeling paint, filthy towels ( not touched or used) a 1990s mattress and furniture and baaaad pillows. Oh yes I forgot to mention the smell. I must say the staff were polite and delivered a level of customer service. This "hotel" needs to temp close down and focus on updating the rooms. Who advised the hotelier to fix the bar and ground floor first before the rooms? Huh? Its deceptive coz you believe the rooms are at the same standard...wrong... 
I wish these agencies would stop adverising this dive and insist they fix the bleedin place up before letting people pay and stay. Booked for work last minute and ooh am i regretting the decision made in haste. I would never stay here again. I'm not fussy but you dont have to be fussy, you just have to be ordinary people who are not staying in their homes and need a room , bed, shower and things to make you feel nice. Bev Hotel does not meet any standards. Staying up until ready to work in a few hours and leave, never to return. What a bleeding liberty!!!
