 Very comfortable, very clean, with good array of beverages. Free parking via a tablet in the Bar. The bottled water supplied is really nice, the kettle is a little small though. The Old Bell is an old coaching house, built to serve the travellers of time gone by, as such there are narrow corridors and many steps, this adds to the character of the hotel I personally love it. I’ve stayed there quite a few times over the summer whilst working in the area.
Warminster is a nice quiet town, with good variety of places serving food and drink.

Old but modern.

We didn’t stay there but thoroughly enjoyed the Thai restaurant. Food was amazing; delicious and freshly cooked.  They also offered  traditional pub food.  A special thanks to Jen as the service was excellent.  

Delicious Thai food

Even though it is a historic building (oldest in Warminster) the hotel is in tip-top shape. The building seems recently refurbished. The room was comfortable, same as the shower. The staff was very friendly and the Thai food was absolutely delicious (cooked by Thai chefs). Very happy with our stay here.

Charming historic hotel

The hotel was a Basic clean room but was small and on the front elevation traffic noise early morning the Bar across the road playing very very loud music until the wee hours very rowdy which made sleeping quite difficult, food was very good We would stay again but would definitely request a room to the rear of the establishment, plenty of safe secure parking the Staff were very accommodating and welcoming which was a pleasure as there was no lift it would be difficult for disabled guests unless they had rooms on the ground floor in the side annex ? 

Clean and basic 

We have eaten here a few times and always had a really nice experience. The Thai food options are plentiful and delicious.  The staff are very friendly snd attentive as well as the pricing of food is very reasonable. It’s nice place also to go for a drink.

No fans available, and no air conditioning available....the heat in this tiny room was almost unbelievable.The rooms are extremely small,only a shower was available and no bath.Tge free view signal was also extremely poor and tge channels kept jumping.

Unbearably hot

Beautiful, quirky old building. The new owners are renovating I believe so some of the rooms are a little dated, ours was, but that didn't detract from our stay. Previous guests had broken the shower and not reported it, we did on discovery and it was replaced by the time we returned the same evening.  
I can't begin to tell you how delicious the Thai food was, we stayed three nights and ate there three times despite being out with friends on one evening!  It was SO good.  We even tried the fish and chips to see if the English options were as good - they were! Breakfast was lovely, cooked exactly as asked for, only on the last morning were my poached eggs over-done (but I hadn't specified how I wanted them cooked so my fault really) and they did offer to re-do them.
We had a room at the front and while it was hot we opened the window - there's a nightclub across the street which bangs out the tunes till 2am, fighting till 2:30 and then the traffic starts about 5am. Didn't bother us at all and we slept through most of it even with the windows open - if you think this will spoil your stay contact the hotel and ask for a room at the back, DONT let it put you off. It really is a lovely place to stay, the food is amazing (and they do takeaways) and the staff are lovely, the can't do enough for you. Definitely going to book again as we have friends in the area but thinking about the food makes me want to go back right now! 
Oh - and there's a lovely beer garden at the back, perfect with a glass of cider on a hot day, and plenty on-site parking. Don't know what else you would need but it's right in the heart of town so plenty shops to visit.
The pub closed due to Covid and the owners are new so I wouldn't take any notice of reviews prior to 2022 - onward & upwards!

EXCELLENT! 

Very overpriced for the standard offered as rooms very dull and tired, no hot water in the shower, requested it to be looked into on first night, second night same problem and had not been looked at, TV in room remote not working and when picture found it was a continuous crackle, loud music from venue across the street both nights went on till 2am so very disturbing, hospitality of the staff left a lot to be desired, only good thing was the Thai food in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and needless to say we won’t be returning or recommending it to friends

Not worth the price charged for a bank holiday weekend

Stopped here for lunch, we were welcomed warmly. The service was fabulous and the food was beautiful and all freshly cooked. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly both indoors and in the courtyard. Will definitely return. The Thai food was stunning!!!

Wonderful staff and food!

The Old Bell Hotel is a former coaching inn on Warminster’s High Street, it has recently been reopened after an extensive renovation. The hotel is sub-divided into three main social venues a large public bar, an open courtyard and a smaller back room. 
Its unique feature is its supplement Thai menu to compliment its traditional Wiltshire pub-fare.
Half a dozen of us met up for a Friday lunch; while a few chose fish and chips, the more adventurous opted for Thai prawn or seafood dishes.
We all enjoyed and were impressed by the charming, friendly service.
Our meals were cooked and presented to a high standard and we were pleasantly surprised by subtlety of the gentle spice flavours of the tasty Thai dishes.
We rounded off our meal with a spectacular selection of traditional pub-puds.
Be aware, discretely signed parking is available up an alley on the immediate North side of the hotel; there is no direct access from the car-park to the hotel, which may not be wheel-chair friendly, rainwear or umbrellas may be needed in wet weather.
Do not forget to record your car registration with the Hotel staff to avoid car-parking charges.
So, if you are looking for something different in a traditional Wiltshire market town, it is well worth considering enjoying a tasty Thai meal at the Old Bell Hotel, Warminster.
