Had a 2 night stay ready for a wedding which was 7 minutes drive away. The most unexpected treat to find this gem. Great pub, rooms in converted stables/barns, so not above noise. So cosy! Warm, wonderful bed and linen, super white fluffy towels. All refreshments in room...including bottled water....and a mini fridge! The locals and staff were very friendly. Parking right outside and gated overnight. Super value too. Easy drives to Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick. The village has everything you need....a local baker for something for breakfast...and a cafe in a garage about 15mins stroll/2 mins drive, Gilks....does EVERYTHING! No hesitation in recommending this lovely place.

Cosy, clean and quiet, great value

Stayed in room 2. Just perfect. Lovely staff, traditional pub with fantastic welcoming atmosphere and friendly locals. Great room and excellent value for money, can't find a fault with it. Restaurant not open at the minute but no problem, fantastic Indian restaurant/take away round the corner and a lovy cafe for breakfast 2 minutes walk away. Highly recommend. 

Hidden gem.

Just spent 2 nights in room 6 excellent value for money. You can park within sight of of your room and drink good beer in a real pub. . If I need a room when I'm in the area or a quick pint then I'll be back .......................................

A PROPER PUB

Had a fantastic meal in our newly renovated local village pub. We tried the new tapas offering which was delicious! Will definitely return, especially in the summer when we can sit in the beer garden to enjoy tapas in the sun...Costa del Kineton!!

Authentic Spanish Tapas in a lovely friendly pub!

I didn't stay at this hotel as I live locally. I took my daughters out for something a bit different before they returned to university. We all like tapas so the menu looked appetising so we thought we would give it a try.  Very glad we did, excellent menu choices, good sized portions all freshly cooked. Delicious food. Better than restaurants we have eaten in, in Spain. Will definitely be returning.

Superb Spanish Tapas

Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are self contained in what was probably a converted stable block at rear of pub.very clean and comfortable.secure car parking locked at night. Owners have just taken over so no food was available other than breakfast, but there is a fantastic Indian restaurant in Kineton also other pub and fish and chip takeaway.staff very friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay

Booked a lunch on Friday for 20 walkers, collected the menu for a pre order and rang to confirm on Thursday. Arrived with the order for food and was told at 10am, that the chef had left on Sunday and there were only three items available. Ham Egg and Chips £11.90, Fish and chips and a very small Sausage and mash £11.95 All over priced and not very good. We will not return.

We will not be back.

Took a client who suffers from dementia to the Swan as he used to go there with his wife and had happy memories of the place.
Unfortunately they were not serving food, but bent over backwards to get us fish and chips from the local chip shop. Sat and chatted with my client about his memories and made him feel totally welcome and relaxed. Excellent venue and they are doing the cupcake day for Dementia on the 15th June. 

Looking for a memory

Recently visited for one night, room is basic to say the least. Shower was awful as water was leaking all over the floor, the curtain was too short.
Needs refurb in room. Breakfast was basic, one piece of rock hard bacon, one sausage which was poor quality, one slice of toast, beans, 6 tiny mushrooms and overcooked egg. Waitress though was friendly.
Bar meal previous night was average, nothing more.
Disappointing.

I have been using this pub occasionally over several years and have watched it go from strength to strength until
recently I saw an event. In the advent of the new manageress it has suddenly turned from family friendly to a not family
friendly one. A complaint was made about a large group of families and their noisy children. The complaint was valid and the kids quietened by their respective parents. All sorted or so you might think.....The manageress then choose, rather than
appease both parties, but to apply her personal view that children should not be in pubs and voiced her thoughts to the parents, especially at that time of night she added and proceeded to eject I think 5 families out of the pub! The kids were noisy granted but given they were clearly (to my untrained eye!)  drinking up to leave, it was all a bit pointless. The families are, l believe all locals, this to me seems to be a poor decision by the landlady. If not a costly one. Managers, in my opinion are better served trying to appease both parties and retain both sets of customers  if they are good at their job.
The debarcle that ensued after she had upset both children and parents lies directly at her feet. I doubt she will see said families again or a good many
others around the village. A great shame for all concerned and the village pub.......not very nice to witness. I wont be lining her pockets again I'm certain of that.
