We thought it was well situated and spotlessly clean. We liked that it was cleaned each day, the bed made and the biscuits refurbished. We liked the firm bed mattress and it was a nice quiet room. The hotel is a little dated.
Food was good but we thought the staff could have worn something other than jeans to serve the Valentines Menu.
We didn't book breakfast but did come down on time to have it on the first morning. It was disappointing as it is the Brunch Menu so little point in getting up early for it. The tea was cleared away before we had finished.
Bar service was really good but brandy ran out and wasn't replenished.
Generally we had a good stay and would return when in the area.

Great stay

Visited this restaurant on the offchance and luckiky a table was available. Excellent meal and excellent  service. The restaurant is tastfully decorated and has a cosy atmosphere.
We would definitely return if we should be in the area again. Only wished we lived closer.

You won't be disappointed 

Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting Warwick and the British Motor Museum (approx 15 mins drive away). Every member of staff we encountered was really friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were spoiled for choice. Our evening meals were delicious as were our breakfasts - again, there was a great choice of breakfast options.

Great pub, with great rooms. Matt who booked us in was brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you.
Room was clean with everything you’ll need. Even though it’s above a pub the noise was hardly heard. Great restaurant and food which I’ve reviewed on the restaurant side of the pub.

Great room

Just spent two nights here.  The hotel is warm, with an open fire, & busy; both good indicators for one's stay.  The staff were attentive & friendly. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean with comfortable firm mattressed beds. Our rooms all had an en suite shower room which, again, was spotlessly clean & stocked with complementary lotions etc.  Breakfast was lovely, with most of the party going for poached eggs on english muffins. We also dined in one night; the food was good & the portions generous. 

Great Meal, Ambience & Location

The food is not nice. French fries too salty (it should be up to the individual to decide how much salt they want, not the chef). Haddock fish cakes over cooked. Cold hollandaise. The brocoli was OK. Drinks were expensive. One pint of ale and a medium sized dry white wine £12 !!!

Not the best

The very best hotel in Warwickshire. Great service, the friendliest service ever. Fabulous staff.  Always attentive . Always looking to serve.. the sexiest ladies always looking to please....it must be run by the best management ever.

The best breakfast around here ! Cooked to perfection. Thankyou lana. Great venue.lovely  friendly staff..no problems with parking..nice big gardens to sit out in surrounded by lovely hanging baskets.ill definitely eat here again. 

Great experience 

A traditional pub/hotel with a nice feel to it.

We stayed for one night 16/17 April and were somewhat taken aback on arrival by being told that the building's boiler had failed and there was no central heating! However the proprietors had  hired a large number of industrial electric fan heaters which were liberally spread around the bar/restaurant and other public areas and in the rooms. Unfortunately I have a health condition which does not react well to major swings in temperature, particularly when sleeping, and these heaters were binary, ie on or off with no thermostat. When on the heater produced a lot of heat and was very noisy, and quickly heated the room up too much so had to be turned off again. This is obviously not a good modus operandi when in bed, so I went back to reception where Amaryllis was able to find me an oil filled electric radiator with a thermostat, but warned that it it would not be big enouth to heat the room properly, however with a relatively warm outside temperatures overnight, it proved very effective - thank you Amaryllis!  

The restaurant was excellent with beautifully cooked food in sensible portion sizes, the service from Pip was careful and attentive. He also knew what the soup of the day was without having to go back to the kitchen! 

The breakfast in the following morning was also very good with the full English including real tomatoes as opposed to tinned ones.

How to deal with matters when things go wrong!

I felt very safe and comfortable staying at this hotel, The staff was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. My room was lovely clean and Tidy, the bed was a bit hard, but that is because my bed is soft at Home.   
The food was excellent would defiantly recommend a stay at this hotel.
