Excellent food. So much recently we have been very disappointed at the food served in our pub/ restaurants. Unless you are prepared to spend mega bucks it is often generic mass produced mush. NOT at the Hampshire Hog. Wonderful meal. Haddock bites were a meal in themselves . Pork belly was to die for. No room for desert!

A cut above the rest

We enjoyed the perfect Birthday Meal at The Hampshire Hog. The online booking and communication was excellent. We were given a friendly welcome and seated immediately. We were allowed to provide our own Birthday Cake which the staff served on request with plates and cutlery. They even provided a free Birthday drink which was a lovely touch. Our food was served promptly, hot and presented beautifully. We all enjoyed the dishes across the starter, main and desert menu. The staff were excellent throughout and really made the meal into a special occasion for us. We would book again anytime. Thank you. 

Perfect Birthday Meal

Attended a small wedding reception hosted here on a Friday --spent 2 nights and was awestruck at how well run the place was. Super friendly, super efficient staff, everything clean.  Food excellent at every meal.  There was nothing too much to ask.  Room clean, quiet, well thought-out.  Cozy fires.  Clever, clever ideas to transform a country pub into a lovely reception venue.  Always one step ahead.  Hot drinks on arrival.  Late night fish and chips served at reception end.  Plates and drinks all filled before you could ask for them.  Great coffee!  This place could teach some 5* hotels a thing or two.  Kudos to all the management and staff.

Punches well above Its weight!

Cracking Pub family run pub. We've eaten here on a Sunday about 4 or 5 times now. 

The first time was a strange time around 7 pm on a warm Sunday evening, and the quality was very good even at that time. 

If you want to eat here between 1-3 pm then book, because it's really busy and the food is excellent. Dog Freindly all over the pub as well, which the staff will always try and find a good spot so the dogs won't interfere too much with service.

5 Star Roast 🔥

Stayed here to do the local parkrun. Owners were very flexible allowing us to have breakfast a little later than advertised.
Also had dinner the previous evening. Food was very good if a little pricey.
Room was very comfortable and has a very efficient A/c unit, a blessing on one of the hottest days of the year.
Would recommend but is a little high price wise

Good country pub, nice rooms but a little pricey

Stayed 2 nights, omg what an amazing place, rooms are fantastic,  beds are the most comfortable we've slept in and the staff are fantastic can't fault anything here. Quiet countryside all around and so quiet, food is amazing and atmosphere in bar so friendly, price great, a wee hidden gem.

Fantastic stay

Second time we have stayed here, the rooms are immaculate, the service is fantastic. 

The hotel manager Colette and her team went out of their way and surprised my wife for her birthday with a little something in the room which was incredibly thoughtful of them. 

The food is incredible, clearly well sourced ingredients and a great chef. 

The Hampshire Hog is our little 5 star secret that we will keep returning to. Would 10/10 recommend this hotel/pub to anyone wanting a great stay, great service and some great food.

This hotel was amazing! It is a dog friendly hotel & our 2 fur babies loved it because of the treats, dog bowls & the location-right next to Butser Hill Country Park & QE Country Park.
The facilities in the large room were excellent-numerous choice of beverages from herbal tea to coffee bags to breakfast tea & a complimentary cider. There was water & milk left in the fridge too. There was an iron & ironing board too!
The full English breakfast was tasty with extra sausage for the dogs! It was freshly made & came with a pot of tea or a cafetière of coffee. The porridge was good too, however there were no blueberries or banana (as advertised), I got strawberries & grapes instead! 
The bar was lively with a good selection of ale, wine, gin & cocktails. There was also an outside area overlooking the countryside.
We will definitely return!

A great dog friendly hotel in a lovely location.

I stayed for one night in a double room, I had a tasty lunch, a relaxing afternoon, a tasty evening meal and a hearty breakfast the following morning. The room was well equipped, a significant quantity of tea and coffee, nibbles, and a cider. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, ironing facilities, mini fridge and kettle. The bathroom was clean and tidy, toiletries and towels provided, the bedroom generous in size and quite airy, very pleasant to sleep in. The food was of a high standard, all the staff were polite and courteous, and made sure your comfort and needs were taken care of. I hope to,be in the area again soon to avail myself again of this superb hotel.

Comfortable rural location that will not disappoint

Absolutely brilliant afternoon tea for our daughter's baby shower.  The food was delicious.  It was so nice to have the food laid out,buffet style, instead of having individual cake stands with set sandwiches and cakes on them ( I love cake stands!!). The staff were attentive and obliging but not at all intrusive.  Really fantastic. We would definitely go again. Highly recommended
