Although my first impression of the hotel was that it was rather 'tired', this was misleading. My single room was generously sized and furnished to a high standard. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. Toiletries provided in shower room smelled great too.
The quality of food at both breakfast and dinner was really great. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. 
Bit noisy on Saturday night, as there was a live band performing, but apart from that I slept really well.

July Wedding Weekend stay at The Hind.

It would be wrong to complain about anything as nothing was really "wrong" as such..
We arrived to a friendly welcome and given our key. There was a problem with our room and we were shown to another room.  Unfortunately there was a problem with that one too but the receptionist gave us free drinks from the bar while the problem got fixed.
Breakfast was adequate and again, couldn't really complain.
This was obviously a beautiful place back in the day but has been left to get quite run down.  It would cost a fortune to restore and there is a feeling that the skeleton staff are merely running a sinking ship.  
However,  if we needed to be in this town again we would be happy to stay here as it certainly wasn't expensive.   My best advice would be to remove the word "deluxe" from the room description to avoid disappointment!

Turned away from The Hind Hotel  with our "won golden tickets" under the excuse we didn't  reconfirm. Asked for a pot of tea and was told to buy it! What a shambles. Asked for manager and was told out of the country. So sales/event manager Carly Bartram

We booked this hotel as a family back in January this year.  We were due to be staying in July for a family party.  There's 10 of us as well as other groups of friends and family (I'd say at least 20 people in total).  All our rooms were cancelled yesterday.  A couple of excuses.  One was because of Silverstone (which is the week before our booking?) and the other was that a wedding had been booked two years ago.  So 2 weeks before our stay, we now all have to find alternative accommodation.  If you make a booking here, don't assume it's yours!

Zero Customer Service

Stayed at The Hind with some friends on a cycling trip. The staff were welcoming and let us store our bikes in an empty ground floor room. While the hotel itself is a little tired, it is a magnificent building with some lovely old features. Our twin rooms were great with everything we needed. For our purposes it was great.

A good stay

Had Christmas lunch there today with a group and the food and service was dreadful , food was only warm and seems it was all frozen veg and roast potatoes . The meals didn't all come together and service was really bad . Such a shame as we went with the same group last year and it was fabulous.

Very disappointed 

We were a table of 12 for Christmas afternoon.  The room was lovely and so was the table decorations and the waitress. We were kept informed that our food would be late and the gifted us a bottle of prosecco. Which was lovely. However the food was not good. The salmon sandwiches had no salmon in them, when we let them know they simply said they had run out of salmon, we were then given more cheese and ham but it was to lste Some of the pots of clotted cream were of! Again we were simply given more and the scones were so stale or over baked they crumbled when we tried to cut into them.
It's a real shame as like I said everything else was lovely..
But we did go for the food

No Salmon

I had booked a meal in the restaurant for us and some friends to catch up. Sadly when seated we were shown to a table in the bar. The bar wasn’t full but very noisy, so not the nicest of atmospheres. The menu was very limited and they’d run out of several dishes also. The food was nice enough though.

Disappointed

stayed here for 2 nights in september for the Santa Pod FIA Finals. We stayed during one of the hottest weekends of the year.
The rooms took some finding as there were a lot of doors and steps to navigate but the part of the hotel we stayed in was nice and quiet. The room was lovely and clean and we even had a fan and bottled water put in our room extra due to the hot weather.
I would definitely stay again but my only gripe was the car park, its tiny and difficult to find with a sat nav and most of the time its full

weekend stay

Absolutely awful.  Place is ridiculously run down whilst trying to sleep  can hear every floorboard and step creak throughout the building and even in moderate wind the windows rattling in their frames for some strange reason bathroom in room was excellent and brand new but rest was terrible little single bed . Staff have given up and breakfast is soul destroying.  Nighttime bar staff rude and disinterested. Oliver Cromwell apparently stayed there .if so I would wager he was more comfortable when he had his head on a spike at Tower of London
