Stayed over the Easter weekend with a toddler and couldn't fault this hotel. All of the staff we encountered were so friendly and polite. Receptionists actively engage with guests and wave hello and goodbye. Our most standout moment was at breakfast on Easter Saturday (the lady wearing the purple tshirt) who couldn't have been more helpful, offering to heat up pancakes for our little one and much more. She is an amazing asset to the hotel and was brilliant with all of the guests, even ones that weren't being quite so nice to her. Room was clean and quiet. Location of the hotel is great too, a short walk into the town centre and easy access to Hatfield and beyond. Will definitely be returning!

Fantastic experience

Nice location, friendly staff. Quite busy at breakfast time but reasonably quiet at night. Lovely relaxing evening meal after a busy day. I had the meal package. Good wifi connection, I was able to do some work. 

Good experience

Highly recommend property was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. I driven 200 miles and wanted a good nights rest as I had another 150 to do the next day. Had a good breakfast in the morning and felt well rested for travelling onward.
 Would recommend this hotel all day long 

Weekend away

Great stay
The hotel reception staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
We stayed in a standard family room which was great, nice comfortable beds, lovely bathroom, large tv on the wall, tea & coffee Making facilities, nice and warm but there was a large fan if you needed it. The room was very clean.
The beefeater restaurant attached was wonderful, the staff were so lovely and the food was amazing, the following morning breakfast was fantastic choice, from fresh pastries, pancakes, crumpets, fruit, yogurt, cereals and toast. Lots of jams, and other spread and a brilliant choice of cooked items and it wasn’t too much trouble to make me 2 freshly perfectly cooked poached eggs.
It really was a great night away.

Perfect stay

I’ve been to a number of Premier Inns over the years and sadly this was a bit of a let down. The interior is looking tired.

The heating in my room was broken- the staff were helpful and provided an electric radiator.
Bar/restaurant was busy with too few staff and could not serve any draught drinks the night I stayed so I ended up getting my dinner from the service station across the road.

At breakfast, too few staff- I was directed to a table that hadn’t been cleared so ended up having to find somewhere else to eat.

Bed was comfortable and I had a good night’s sleep but next time I’m in the area I’ll look elsewhere

Tired, not great sadly

We paid £420 for a twin- bedded room for 4 nights with breakfasts from September 29th. As always when we booked the room we were told that if we have any particular requirements to phone the hotel the day before arrival. This we did but the answerphone said they were busy with other calls so to ring back later. So our first contact with the hotel was a lie. this is clearly company policy as we've experienced it with this and other Premier Inns, all the staff are excellent. When they are manning the reception, at their busiest, they answer the phones, but by then the room allocations for the following day have been done and couldn't be changed. We wanted a room with a modern flexible shower on the first or second floor, not a ground floor room overlooked by the car park and with an antiquated high bath and fixed shower, which is what we got. Why can't these simple requirements be included in the original booking? When are these rooms going to be upgraded?

I stay at this hotel regularly only because it is convenient for the office. The whole place is tired, can’t remember the last visit I had when I didn’t have cause to report a faulty toilet, leaking shower, light bulbs out, etc. 

Don’t get me started on staying here in warmer months. Even this month the room is a minimum of 22 degrees with no way to cool it down. Earlier this year I checked out two days early as the insufferable heat left me feeling physically unwell, contact to the non existent customer services went unanswered.

You do hear room doors slamming shut at all hours and creaking from the floors above, so the quality of sleep is definitely impacted  

Will be looking for alternatives for my next visit to WGC I suspect

Tired hotel, suffering from lack of investment

I booked this hotel as I was going to a wedding nearby. The checkin was easy and quick and there were staff available even after midnight. The bed is very comfy and the room has all the standard amenities. However, very early in the morning I could hear doors being opened and closed and it was rather noisy and disturbing. Would have preferred if the doors were fixed so that it shuts quietly. 

Nothing Special

We stayed as we were going to a friends birthday party nearby.  The reception staff, parking etc were all good but we found the temperature in the room almost unbearable.  Admittedly we didn't realise there was no air con in the room when we booked but even so the heatwave was a few weeks before and the temperatures outside were around 15 degrees but on average our room just over 27 degrees on the room thermostat all night!

We had a fan provided but this wasn't really enough and the window only opened a small amount.  We both only got around 3 hours sleep.

We complained to reception who were very sympathetic and indicated it wasn't an unusual complaint and suggested we log a case with Premier Inn customer service to claim our money back under their good night sleep guarantee.  I did this but I am still waiting for a response (although they say it will take up to 10 days).   We stay in a lot of premier inns and usually find the facilities and rooms pretty good but this experience has put me off staying in any of them without air conditioning!

Terrible nights sleep due to room temperature of over 27 degrees!

Good hotel overall, staff friendly and helpful. No A/C and very hot room even with fan. The restaurant is under staffed, but they were friendly and helpful. The food is standard pub food but tasty. Overall a reasonably good stay that is value for money.
