Really enjoyed a lovely Easter Sunday roast today. Staff were lovely and friendly, made us feel very welcome. Lovely decorations for Easter. Really lovely pub, perfectly priced, great service and delicious food, will be returning for a roast in the near future.

Perfect East Sunday Roast

Stayed at the blue anchor to be close to Cobham. Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and tidy with ample tea and coffee. Juice and porridge laid out for breakfasts. Were invited to join in the pub quiz and had an enjoyable evening - even coming second! 

Overnight 

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Anchor twice during May. 5 nights in total.
We used it as a base for trips around the country.
It’s in a great location, close to London, about 30 minutes by train, as well as the towns/villages of Surrey.
Matt (owner) and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a great time meeting some of the locals.
Rooms were bright, clean and very well priced. A basic breakfast kit is supplied.
The traditional English pub food, generous portions, was very good as well.

Value For Money

We are locals and have been going to the Blue Anchor for Sunday roasts for a while; they are such good value for the generous and tasty platefuls you are served!  I recently became vegetarian so was really pleased to see that a vegetarian option had been introduced to the menu.  The mushroom Wellington was full to the brim with filling and the vegan Yorkshire puddings were light and seasoned well.  Both of these were served up with plenty of perfectly cooked veg and gravy.  I will definitely be going back and would recommend that my fellow vegetarians go and give the roast a go too!

Sunday Roast - good vegetarian option

No thrills but very fair priced.
Lady behind the bar was happy to print out some tickets for us.
Room was basic but clean. And the staff where kind enough to leave some porridge and juice out for the kids.
For a well priced basic room there’s nothing bad to say..

Best sunday roast in the area by far, and very reasonably priced. Have not stayed here so cannot comment on the accomodation. Bar staff friendly and efficient. Also have the football if that takes your fancy

Got there quite late in the week after visiting brooklands, nice people but they had taken out the duke box and staff /customers were putting  on music via the phone , which means we were subjected to 2 hrs rap music, bring back duke box or have silence Pleeeeeeeeease

a visit to the Brookland museum. and again me & my daughter stay at the blue.. great place. we will be back thanks blue. only problem we never stay long enough.and a special mention to all the staff that make it what it is... thank you all. xx

great stay

We have visited the 'Blue' for many years, frequently having a lunchtime snack, but had never had one of their Sunday Roast Lunches.
We went as a family today and all had a roast of some sort, varying from roast beef, to a vegan roast option. Everyone was pleased with what they had, both in terms of quality and taste, but also for the quantity of food that was given.
It's not haute cuisine, but it is a very pleasant example of solid British food. Dog-friendly too. Recommended for a pleasant Sunday family lunch.

Just for food: very good quality and value for a Sunday lunch

Stayed here for work , room ok no breakfast only porridge in room ! No breakfast . Food menu very basic no choice only bog standard pub food not worth having although staff very friendly not very expensive so if you just want a bed for the night it probably just ticks the box .
