Stayed here at the end of August but only just gotten round to writing the review now. 
We stayed in a jacuzzi suite which had a living room, large bathroom with a rainfall shower and jacuzzi plus a bedroom with a dressing area. Lovely sea view. We paid about £500 for 3 nights which we felt was very good value for money. 
The owner telephoned about a week beforehand to confirm the booking and advised us to book restaurants in advance as Whitby gets very busy in high summer. This was very helpful as we would otherwise have left it until a couple of days before and probably wouldn’t have gotten in. They also sent us a list of restaurants in advance. 
The room was very clean with high quality furnishings and there was a box of sweets in the room with the tea and coffee making facilities which we thought was a nice touch. 
The owners were very helpful in advising on attractions and how to get to them. There was a bar in the lobby area but it closed at 7pm so we didn’t manage to use it as we were out until early evening most days. 
The breakfast was excellent. Really good quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. We had to book a 30 minute slot for breakfast when we checked in and had to stick to that same slot every day which wasn’t ideal as our itinerary was different each day so we ended up having to book the early slot and get up quite early each day. 
Great location on the sea front and about a 10 minute walk from the main centre. 
The only constructive feedback I’d give is that the number of house rules was a little restrictive. A good example would be the rule against taking food back to the room. The room was lovely and had a nice sitting area. It would have been nice to be able to go back and have a pizza and a bottle of wine instead of going out every evening. Also a bit more flexibility around the check-in times would be beneficial. 
On the whole though a really nice hotel and we had a lovely stay.

Nice boutique B&B - breakfast was excellent

Lovely boutique B&B, nicely furnished/decorated throughout, very clean, & the buffet-style 'full English' breakfast was very tasty.

However, the lack of 'hospitality' left a lot to be desired. The owners were very 'distant' during our stay, which made us feel very uncomfortable.

Also, a few strange house rules were applied....ie although licensed, the bar closed at 7pm & the lounge area was cordoned off (with rope!) at 8pm!!, meaning, if you didn't want to go out on an evening, you were confined to your room! 

Check-in times are restricted to 3-6pm! & we were left in no doubt that the check-out time of 10am was to be strictly adhered to!

A lovely place to stay, but sadly due to the above comments we shall NOT be returning!!

Hospitality & some facilities sadly lacking!

What an awful hotel and staff! Booked this hotel for a birthday trip amongst other reasons and family were travelling all over to come to Whitby to meet with us. Friday to Sunday was booked this weekend and paid for in advance. A call was made to check check in times and advise that we would be late as we work and have a two hour travel time to get to them and was told 6pm check in only - no offer or any alternatives or solutions. Very rude lady on the phone and lacked in customer service! They offer a key service for later check ins but this was not offered. We decided we would loose our mo way for the Friday and just travel up Saturday and stay for one night only to receive an email cancelling the whole booking today. One day before we were meant to travel. Everyone knows Whitby gets booked up so left us in a position where by five parties are having to cancel their bookings too which resulted in loss of monies. Anyone running a hotel that would stop check ins after 6pm on a weekday when most people work would prob cost them a lot of business. The fact I emailed them to inform them of my dissatisfaction as a customer and was greeted with lack of customer service, rude, deterring away from the fact that they have cost myself and family hundreds of pounds is disgusting. Would not recommend, the owners clearly offer accommodation but in regards to being accommodating do not have a clue.

Had another great stay at Crescent Garden House, have stayed on a number of previous occasions and it never disappoints.
Great rooms always very clean, breakfast is superb and location is ideal for exploring Whitby.
Will hopefully be staying here again soon:

Great Holiday

Booked 6 nights staying in room 9 which is the suite. Originally booked via a site but contacted to cancel and book direct. This would give us free parking voucher. Still paying the same price but helps the hotel out so give them a call first.
The hotel is on 4 floors, no lift and no pets or children.  We were greeted by the gentleman who located a space for us on the crescent on road parking , he held it for us and kindly carried our big case to the room. He gave us our receipt and showed us to the room and went through the facilities. We were asked to wear masks in the communal areas and told breakfast would be at 9am each day. 
Everywhere was spotless and decorated in an elegant manner. The bathroom has a jacuzzi and walk in shower, lovely fragrant shampoo and gel, hand soaps,  fluffy white towels   sewing kit, shower cap. The rooms are cleaned each day.
The lounge had great views, lovely touches of biscuits,  mints and chocolates with the tea and coffee facility. Very large cups and a teapot  
The bedroom had limited wardrobe style storage so I used the coat hook stand because we were there for a long break.  The bed was really comfortable,  room beautifully decorated but simple, big curtains to block any light at night, lots of sockets and low and high lighting 
The breakfast was buffet which was a surprise considering the other covid precautions which remained in place for the safety of all. The lady wasnt overly friendly or chatty and liked to clear away as you finished but warmed up as the week went by. There was sanitizer to use as we stepped into the dining area (and reminded to use) with a sign explaining that the buffet had been checked and approved by the council. The hoteliers took every precaution. The full English was delicious and included locally sourced eggs, bacon sausage bread,  we had beans mushrooms black pudding.  Sauces and jams locally sourced too.  Fresh fruit, yoghurts  porridge, cereals and oats freshly made daily. Tea and coffee cafetieres ready for hot water. You will not go hungry at the crescent garden hotel. 
The location on the crescent is great for views and to quickly get to the beach and spa. There's a walk to the town but everywhere is really close in whitby.
The reason for the mark is the fixed time for breakfast which didnt provide flexibility,  we were not allowed to order poached or scrambled eggs due to covid apparently.  I didnt have the same problem when staying at similar establishment earlier this year. The licenced bar was only open till 7pm so couldn't have a drink before going out to dinner or on return which I missed. There were no leaflets or literature around but there was at all the tourist places we went to. We asked about places to eat for dinner and given the names of three restaurants that were fully booked for weeks dittos,  mademoiselle and Cosa nastra. Would recommend that as the lady called us twice before arrival she let's people know to book early. There is a chalk board behind the bar which is obscured by the lighting so may help guests if its bought to their attention on arrival.  
Otherwise a fantastic located hotel with lovely facilities and spotlessly clean. 

Great location,  facilities and breakfast 

Our 4th stay in this hotel, prime position on West cliff with lovely sea views. Would highly recommend room 6 situated on first floor at front of property. (View from room picture attached) No lift to Upper floors but does have rooms which have disabled access to lower ground floor. 
All rooms we have stayed in are good size, comfortable and clean, Tea / coffee making facilities in room, replenished daily.
Excellent buffet style breakfast, covid safety measures in place I.e masks, social distancing etc. Parking permit given for duration of stay, we always manage to get a space near front of hotel on crescent. 
Hosts welcoming and friendly, would highly recommend this hotel but you need to book in good time.

Prime position

Always enjoy returning to Whitby and when you find a home away from home its even better. Can sit back and relax knowing what to expect and the consistency of good friendly service and a great breakfast keeps us going back.  The location is fantastic and the hotel is clean and tidy  definately recommend.

Great place to stay

We stayed here for 3 nights, when booking we were unable to get a sea view or a suite room, ( wish we had booked earlier)..as from the photos these rooms look absolutely amazing,
So our room was at the back, ..not huge,but perfectly formed..
The little touches in the room helps make this hotel the beautiful place it is..
Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate , biscuits, little chocolates, bottles of water,.. toiletries, 
A lovely little jar with, cotton buds, cotton balls, and a mini sewing kit..
The fluffiest white towels .. and immaculate soft bedding..

The breakfast was absolutely amazing, so much to choose from, and stood out to how long it must take them to prepare such healthy options,  and the cooked breakfast was the best in any hotel we have had..

The whole of this hotel is beautiful, and and absolutely immaculate, you can see straight away how hard they work..

We got free parking with this hotel too, that was definitely a bonus..

The views from this hotel are amazing, and in a beautiful area..
My only gripe is the steps to get into the town , only a 8/10 minute stroll .. but I’m terrible with steps lol..
But there is a road way too..

Absolutely beautiful

We booked the suite which was lovely although breakfast was not to my expectations ( for the price I expected to order This was buffet style and due to Covid there were rules and regulations which I accept but I felt under pressure throughout breakfast to finish within the allowed-time which made it quite as unpleasant experience -this said the accommodation is very nice and clean & the sea. Views were lovely. I would stay again if the breakfast experience was improved

Minor improvements needed

Although the hotel is lovely and clean and well located, the demeanour of the land lady is something to be questioned. I actually thought this at breakfast the way she spoke to us, quite head mistress like and this was before the incident on the Saturday evening. We had brought back a take away to our room which wasn't allowed and my boyfriend and I accept that. However it was the way the land lady reprimanded us and made us feel lik dirt under her finger nails, or rather something she had trodden in.  She spoke to us like children, her whole approach was totally wrong and she could have dealt with in a much more reasonable way.  If we could have left night night we would, hence we didn't stay for breakfast, I couldn't even look at this woman.  We are two grown adults 52 and 51 years old, have good jobs and well respected in our community. The husband was much more personable and helpful unlike is awful wife!
