Wanted to visit Whitby and we had a hotel gift voucher .This was the only guesthouse where it could be used . Host gave  us keys on arrival and a parking pass then disappeared into private room leaving me stood in hall while my husband sorted the car . No friendly chitchat or offer of information such as how to find the town or where we could get breakfast as they don't provide any .We didn't see anyone again and there is a box to leave your keys in when you leave . Room ok ..tea and coffee tray and small fridge provided . We were left 1 bath towel each  for 2night stay which is fine but you need to provide a hand towel as well in bathroom  I don't usually dry my face with same towel I use for my body. 1  little shampoo and body wash left out for 2 people!  Maybe a little pkt of biscuits would be nice while no food provided and a booklet in room with some local information as you don't want to interact with guests  
Overall impression was all a bit mean and unfriendly . We loved Whitby and are coming back in September for the Soul weekend but we won't be staying here .



Unwelcoming

Room was ready when we got there.Dissapointed that no breakfast was offered. How can it be called a bed and breakfast when no breakfast is available.Room was configured really strangely. Single bed and a double in attic room that doesn't allow you to get in and out of bed on both sides impossible  to use 1 side of double bed. The bathroom really small. Not good if you're  a 6 footer like me.well dated. Could do with redecorating.the tv is so small you need binoculars to watch it.Would I visit again.... No. Whitby is beautiful but the hotel was a let down.

Short stay in Whitby.

Basic accommodation really, clean but dated in areas, stayed in room 6, separate sink which is in room and a tight spaced toilet with shower cubicle, double and single bed but can’t watch tv out of single bed because of layout, toilet two feet away from single bed which can be embarrassing,it’s priced ok i suppose.

Ok, did the job.

Lovely 4 night stay at Esklet. Very clean and spotless throughout. First  class amenities including Tv with streaming channels and fridge. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Very helpful and pleasant hosts. A nice leisurely walk into Whitby town. Thank you.

Book for 2 nights advertised BB lady was ok room clean , whole place needs updating , NO Breakfast as advertised , needs to adjust this as can be seen as false advertising , if your not out of your room at 10.30pm you will receive a knock on door asking you to leave which is bit rude , beds not v comfi like i said basic but good price

Basic

The owners are very friendly and checked we didn't run out of any consumerables.  The room was clean and hot water in abundance.
Only downside the mattresses could have been more comfy and if you are on the heavy side you may well bottom out!
Although free parking disks are provided by the guest house, actually finding a place to park is another story and to be fair this is a problem with all the Guest Houses in Whitby who offer free street parking.  The closest parking space was often about 10 mins from the Guest House - not ideal.
The guest house is well positioned, about 10 mins walk to the town centre and about 5 mins from the front.

A weeks holiday in Whitby

Lovely weekend away hotel was perfect our room was in attic with ensuite very spacious ,quiet area location close to town centre just a 10 min walk down to centre passing pubs restaurants on the way defo stay here again

Our anniversary

A little outdated and basic. 
The room was clean and had all we needed. The en-suite is small but very clean and great power from the shower. Unfortunately the beds were rock solid and we have left with sore backs. 
I found it slightly bizarre that it said to not have anything plugged in when you went out/overnight but the extension lead for lamps and fridge that were in use on arrival were all next to/under the sink.
Sadly not a bed and breakfast as advertised outside. We felt a little sad as we walked past all the other b&bs sitting chatting with hosts having breakfast. We had zero contact with the owner apart from to pass keys over and to inform our room wasn’t quite ready. 
Unlikely to stay here again.

Basic and disappointing

The room and en suite bathroom is a very good size for a family of 3 and the little fridge is a very nice touch. Everything was very clean and well organised. There are many places to eat nearby and there is easy access to many activities. It's very near the beach.

Nice place to stay.

Ignore the sign outside that says Bed & Breakfast and the 4 star AA rating, accommodation here is offered on a room only basis.  Having said that, there are plenty of excellent places in Whitby to have breakfast / brunch nearby.  The guesthouse is clean and comfortable and reasonably priced.  It’s also a great location on the West Cliff, which is much quieter for seagulls.
