Lovely find, comfortable stay, excellent dinner, friendly staff.
We wanted to break our journey from Kent down to Portsmouth so looked for pubs with rooms en route. Very happy to have stumbled upon the White Hart. 
Fantastic evening meal (the squid beautifully spiced, the burger handmade, the honeycomb and raspberry sorbet just perfect to end) and a very comfortable room.
Excellent shower, good breakfast and all sub £100. You don’t see that very often these days.

Definitely worth a visit

Having spent three nights on the Isle of Wight we thought it would nice to add a extra night on our way home. What a great find by chance. This is a great pub that offers excellent food and accommodation. We stayed in room one. Fabulous but very low beams. The staff were both friendly and helpful and made our stay and evening memorable. As a locals pub they also were welcoming to us holiday makers. This off the beaten track in many ways but so worth the visit. 

We enjoyed our evening meal, although the portions were to say the least hearty. Well worth the visit if you’re in the area

Great little find

A very pleasant stay here.
The whole place felt very well maintained and had the atmosphere of a cosy traditional inn but with a luxurious bistro type feel as well.
I wish we had eaten dinner here as the menu looked good and I think the good would have been excellent based on dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen.
Our breakfast was good quality and comprehensive - but not cheap, however it was fair value for money.
Staff were very professional and friendly and it had the feel of a very well run establishment by a team that really know what they are doing - nothing was too much trouble and our needs were accommodated without a blink.
Our room felt luxurious with various extras and overall it considerably exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean with comfy beds and good quality linen.
I would certainly stay here again and look forward to doing so.

Fabulous cozy well maintained inn - luxurious, clean, friendly and professional

Stayed in a converted barn room external to the pub. Really impressed with the quality of room. The room was supplied with everything needed, Nespresso machine, tea/coffee, percolator, shoe shine kit, toothbrush. Much more than expected.

Great stay

My second day on the South Downs Way brought me to South Harting and the very fine and pleasant, The White Hart.  They served an excellent pint and my supper that evening was excellent.  The room was an adjacent building on the property, was nicely furnished and very convenient.  South Harting is a delightful village, well worth some extra time along the SDW.

Superb Pub with Engaging and Helpful Manager

Stayed here a couple of nights - Sunday and Monday on their winter break package to celebrate husbands birthday. Our Sunday night dinner reservation was amended to late lunch due to a belated Christmas staff party but it wasn’t a problem as communicated by the manager Sophie. We had a comfy double - room 2 - in an adjacent block. As we arrived at 1pm the parking was full so we went out onto the street. Reversing out was a bit stressful! Staff were very welcoming, the fire was lit in the dining room and we had an enjoyable lunch with the food being of high quality. Our room was very well appointed with charging pads, filter coffee and nicely decorated. The bathroom was newly fitted. Breakfast was included in our package - continental and hot - and the hot breakfasts were excellent. You can always tell a good chef by their poached eggs! Evening dinner was again a real treat. Sophie and her team were friendly and considering the hotel was full due to neighbouring villages having power cuts the service was excellent. Thank you for a lovely break.

Great couple of nights stay

Overnight stop, walking the South Downs Way. Warm welcome and lovely room. Evening meal was excellent - additionally brilliant because most of the menu is gluten free! Fantastic and rare! Friendly staff - deserves to do well.

Everything was good!

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we enjoyed every minute of our stay.  Every single member of staff was friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.  The rooms were cosy and comfortable, the pub had a great atmosphere and the food was excellent.  Highly recommended, would definitely return.

What an absolute gem of a find. Absolutely fabulous in every way. Staff all friendly and extremely helpful. Had evening meal which, for me, was delicious, all three courses. Stayed the night in a very well equipped hotel and cozy room with en-suite shower room. Can not recommend this place enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic stop over

We had booked inside but as it was sunny moved to the well appointed garden, which had its own outside bar, which meant that we had plenty of attention from the (exceptionally charming) young waiting staff.  Had three courses, staff were charming, attentive and brought water for the dog.
