When we arrived we received a lovely warm welcome. Our room was nice but very outdated. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was tiny but had everything in we needed. The towels were nice and clean. All the staff were very friendly and professional. We ate in the pub both nights and the food was very nice and tasty. The breakfast was amazing the most tasty sausage and bacon it was absolutely delicious.

Wonderful warm welcome

A picturesque inn, in a beautiful area. Staff made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped through the door. Throughout our stay, everyone was so helpful and friendly. Clean and tidy room with spacious bathroom. Meals were excellent. Chefs are first class and every meal cooked to perfection. Quality food. A hearty breakfast provided a great start to our days. Even the dog got a sausage. Close to Rothbury and Cragside is worth a visit. Been there many times over the years. We had a lovely trip around the area, brought back many happy camping memories. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at the Bay Horse Inn.

Staff couldn’t have been friendlier… delicious meals…very dog friendly…relaxing break

We stayed in room 6, clean comftable and spacious. Food was lovely and breakfast was amazing all the staff were very friendly. Only downside this is not in Hexham that was about a twenty minute drive away. Would definitely stay there again xx 

Relaxing weekend away 

We stayed for a weekend after having stayed there for new year. We were warmly welcomed then shown to our superior room. The room was very spacious with a large bed , a comfortable 2 seater settee with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was massive too. The beers are well kept and a good selection. The food is well cooked and very tasty. The breakfast  is well stocked with juices and cereals. The Northumbrian cooked breakfast is a must. The staff are always pleasant and very attentitive. It seems nothing is too much trouble.we look forward to our next visit very soon.

Fantastic mini break

Stayed here for a week whilst on business. The room was large with a large TV .The Food is fantastic and my steak was cooked to perfection.Large carpark for your vehicles and the  friendly staff are very helpful and welcoming.I can highly recommend thus place fir food and accommodation.

Fantastic steak

We stayed at this b&b for 3 nights and we weren't expecting much because it was a Wowcher deal but we were amazed when we got there , it's in a quaint little village with beautiful surroundings countryside and the staff are fantastic so accommodating are really friendly as are the locals , we took our border terrier with us and they were so friendly to him , even giving him a sausage for his breakfast. On the subject of food the breakfast is perfect and the food in the pub in the evening is very tasty with great portions .. all in all we would definitely recommend this fantastic b&b with their lovely staff .. 

An absolute gem . 

One of the best pubs I have ever stayed in.
Dog friendly, clean room friendly service and easy check in.
The locals were so lovely, really friendly and welcoming. Some locals even say with us and had a chat.
We had a cooked breakfast that was outstanding. One evening we had a meal and it was amazing the okate was full to the brim.
We cannot fault this place and highly recommend.

The best Pub we have ever stayed in. The food was first class too.

We stayed here for one night on the way from Boston, Lincs to Kelso. It looks an archetypal Englishpub - stone built, sash windows, creepers and rambling roses all over it. The rooms are small but more than adequate and have been updated with the smallest shower pods I have ever seen. I went into the shower in some trepidation (at 6ft tall with a similar armspan) but it was fine. The staff were really helpful and friendly and we had an excellent pub-food evening meal.
I can't give any higher praise than to say that we shall stay there again when we make the same journey next year.

A great experience

We booked this on an offer. We were really pleasantly surprised at the value. The room was spotless and comfortable with tea and coffee. A very friendly pub with a varied menu lunch or dinner.The breakfast was very good with excellent service. Situated about 15 - 20 mins from Hexham. 

Excellent friendly service

Myself and my partner stayed in The Bay Horse Inn as we were attending a wedding in the area. 

The welcome was very warm and friendly and the rooms were clean and tidy. Bit outdated but very traditional. 

Breakfast was delicious and evening menu also looked good even though we didn't eat. 

Good selection of beers on the bar. If we were in the area again wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
