This place is a complete mess!  Beyond being dates, it has rubbish throughout and has an unpleasant smell. I would avoid! Room I am in has a TV but there is no outlet to plug it into. Shower has mold. Dirty mirrors and other items throughout. Hard to find anything positive to say about the place.

It is a Dump - Avoid!

The worst hotel I’ve been to. I’ve never written a review but felt this deserved a review. The reception area was hugely dated, dirty and there was no reception staff available to help us check in. There was a lady in reception who appeared to be living on the sofas all weekend downstairs who didn’t work there. Our room was upstairs top level it had no bathroom and the shared bathroom was not useable. There was a radiator in the bath! Bed sheets etc seemed clean but pillows were super thin. There were random rooms which were empty and dirty on our floor. We tried to complain when we left but non of the staff spoke English.

Do not book

Yes the reception is a bit dated but who cares, the rooms are lovely and the manager is amazing !! We have stayed here 4 out of the last 5 weeks. This is our new home from home, great prices , great location and staff who go above and beyond. If you want great value for money then this is the place to book, very child friendly even with my hard to manage 7yr old who has ADHD. Can't praise this place enough

Fab find for families

First impressions of this hotel were not good, the entrance had bins full of rubbish, dirty ashtrays and rubbish in the flower beds, the reception area is dreadful, dirty unhoovered carpets dark smelly and dated. (there was a depressed drunk woman sat on the sofa watching TV) who said she didn't know where the man was but he wouldn't be long when I said we wanted to check in(this was the only member of staff we saw at the hotel).
At this point we nearly went home (another couple didn't even look at their room) but we decided to see what our room was like before deciding as we didn't want to upset our 8 year old daughter.
To our surprise our room was pretty clean and a really good size, beds were clean and comfortable.
We had a great view too.
The downside to the room was there were no curtains up at the kitchen area so the bedroom had no privacy and the room was very hot with little ventilation. 
Apart from that we had forks in the coffee cups in place of teaspoons and what seemed to be a hurd of elephants move in above us at 4am, we gave it a chance, we would not return, it's a shame as the location is great!!

Not good

Avoid at all Costs. 
Photographs do not reflect the actuality. They claim to be refurbishing but in reality it resembled a down at heel hostel.
They do NOT offer any meals or drinks apart from bottled water in the room. Room had only one socket and  multiple extension cables. WET towels on the bed (I have to assume they were freshly laundered!) Two steps up into the corridor bathroom (looked like a partition wall had been erected behind the bed) NO LIGHT in the bathroom and NO bedside tables or lamps. Had the pay CASH as they claimed the reader was faulty and had been returned the previous day. However when we returned home and did a more detailed search online it would seem the card reader had be 'faulty' for some time! Asked for a refund and they retained £65. They did not offer, or give any receipts  either paper or electronically

DREADFUL customer service. B&B cancelled my booking. Did not cancel my booking with booking.com. so £200 deposit taken from my account which will take upto 12 days to refunf. Rude, unhelpful, patronising staff.

We got here having booked 2 rooms, they only had us down for one room. shouldn’t have been such a major issue, seeing as we were paying them there rather than it having been pre paid, and seeing as they clearly had a spare room as they found us two rooms eventually, but there was about 10 minutes worth of phone calls and discussions about how we had booked 2 rooms when they only had one down. We even showed them our booking.com confirmation email that clearly stated ‘2 rooms booked’.

whilst waiting, we looked over to the breakfast area, to see tomorrows breakfast juice sat out on the side…clearly was never going to see the inside of a fridge…needless to say we didn’t attend breakfast at the hotel the following morning.

We then made our way up to the room, through the dated corridors. Our friends went into the first room, with no shower facilities, but at least they had a cupboard containing a toilet. No explanation from the receptionist upon booking in about if there was a communal bathroom, which I presume there was somewhere. We then went up to our room, and whilst the bed was comfy, and the room seemed clean, the only thing in the bedroom that had been replaced in the last 30 years was the radiator. The 30 year old wallpaper had been painted over the last few years to be fair, but everything else was ancient. The windows were aluminium, the furniture was either purchased 40 years ago, or the owners of the hotel know a house clearing company whom they get to provide them with their bedroom furnishings. The ones that have been refused even by the local charity who have been in to claim their part of the inherited furniture.
The tv didn’t work, there was no hairdryer, the carpet was also left by granny in her inherited house, or perhaps it was fitted 40 years ago too…who knows. To their credit, the shower room that we benefited from which our friends had unfortunately not got in their own room, had been updated! Sadly it was with the cheapest vinyl that the local carpet fitters had got left, probably a cut off from a roll that had been left in the back cupboard for the last few years, along with a shower enclosure, wc and sink that were 100% the cheapest that the hotel Savoy could find anywhere on the World Wide Web.
And finally the shower…well to say I was looking forward to gloating to our friends the following morning about how lush our warm shower was when we planned to meet them for breakfast (elsewhere in Weston super mare of course) was an understatement. Sadly however, this was not to be the case. As I turned on the shower, it became immediately apparent, that not only could I urinate harder than the shower, but there was clearly absolutely no hot water ever coming out of it.
So after having to clean my armpits and groin with my partners facial wipes, we thankfully left the building to make our way home and never return.
To conclude, I know that there have to be some cheap and cheerful hotels out there. this, however is not cheap! £96 for one night was paid for the above ordeal. and it’s just criminal that a property earning that kind of money, and in what is a lovely old building, wouldn’t invest some of that money back into the building, or someone who knows what they’re doing behind the reception.

Like going back in time

AVOID!!! I believe this place is under new management as it’s definitely not as described in previous reviews!

•Carpet filthy clearly hasn’t been vacuumed in a while. Sprout on floor next to bed 🤮
•Black fluff on bed sheet
•Cups filthy 
•Shower water trickled out 
•No door between bedroom and shower just a curtain. 
•Very noisy could hear people in next room and doors slamming all night. 
•No parking (on street parking only)
•Breakfast (coco pops, toast or banana) ended up getting breakfast else where. 
•Completely over priced for the state of the place. 

Not one good thing to say about the place!!!! 

Needs to be reported to trading standards as not fit for purpose!!!!



AVOID!!!!

Booked a nights stay as a cheap night away on the fact the reviews said it was clean but this was far from the case, cold rooms,no toilet rolls, filthy carpets that haven been hoovered, curtains for doors,dirty cups,musky smells,one single socket in the room with two things plugged into it. No one in reception for breakfast so help yourself to old opened butter bread a banana or coco pops & milk. Very dated furniture, on street parking but offers free parking sign outside? Avoid this place, will not return unless Major improvements are made, £120 per night?, no breakfast in a room that the floor had'nt been cleaned since the 60s? Feel like I've been scammed out of my hard earned cash, should be inspected to see if it's fit to be opening to public stays if you ask me. 

A night in hell...

Wow. What an experience! And not in a good way. We were really worried checking into this hotel after reading the recent reviews, but unfortunately they were spot on. 
Positives first. The location is amazing, up on the hill looking over the marine lake, a sea view must have been nice, we didn't get one. The guy that ran the hotel was sweet, he made an effort with the kids and carried our bags, he swapped our broken kettle. Unfortunately that's the end of the positives.
The negatives, the hotel is beyond tired, it must have once been quite grand, but now it's, dusty, mouldy and grim. The surfaces in the room were all dirty, I took a pack of dettol wipes and had to clean most things, the carpets were all crazy patterns but couldn't disguise the fact they hadn't been vacuumed. The cups, glasses were stained and dirty. The towels were used and some with stains on and not old stains *actual snot* we had bought our own and used them. The shower was like a little trickle enough for a body wash. I will accept that I didn't complain we just used our own things and I cleaned. The bedding was clean that's the only reason we stayed. We used it as a place to sleep and then checked in somewhere else.
