As always a great meal for the family and the husky. We visit this restaurant  quire a few times each year. Great staff, good food at a reasonable price  children are welcomed  and the dog is allowed in to a area at the back of the restaurant  which is good for us and also keeps  dogs away from those who don't want them around when they are eating .

Great family restaurant with a dog friendly area.

We went on a bus trip to see Glastonbury festival of light.  The Hotel was on the central seafront, the bedrooms clean and warm. However the shower was dangerously hot and very hard to control.  The meal times were chaotic with two bus loads of people crammed into the dining room with no room to move. The noise was horrendous as people tried to make themselves heard.
Perhaps if we weren't on a bus trip we would have had a better choice of food and been in the front dining room. 
All the staff were lovely with the exception of the manageress  who was rude .
I would not return for that reason alone. 

Not for us

We have just had a 3 night stay at Smiths Hotel.   The hotel is well situated for the beach and nearby shopping centre.  We were on a coach trip which included the Glastonbury carnival , Our  twin room on the first floor had a nice sea view , the beds were very comfortable, but I feel the twin room was not really suitable for two people as It was a very small room. The wardrobe  was very difficult to use as it was  at the foot of one of the beds with little space to open the doors fully . We  also had to be very careful coming in and out of the bathroom in case we  hit our fellow traveler with the door.  Our menu was geared up for a coach party and was very well organised . The dinner menu provided 3 courses with 2 or 3 choices for each course. Breakfast was great as well. Everything cooked nicely. Our waitress was brilliant and pandered to our whims in a very pleasant manner. Her service with a smile went a long way. All in all it was a pleasant stay . Thank you Smiths Hotel.

An ok stay

Stayed in November for 4 nights on a turkey and tinsel coach trip.  The greeting on arrival was outstanding from the general manager TINA we were greeted with a nice hot cup of tea.  Our cases were taken to our rooms, we were given our keys and told what time dinner was.
Hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable 
All the meals were top quality and plentiful.
Hotel so well positioned for the beach and shopping.

Lovely Hotel 

We went with a coach company and after reading some reviews on here was a bit dubious but, the rooms were very good, food excellent and staff brilliant and friendly. The lift was still broken but the staff apologised and took our bags for us. Serving meals was very efficient and meals were always hot and appetising. Well done to the all the staff there. 

Great hotel

wonderful experience, staff could not do enough +polite,food is fantastic, would recommend.We visited in December  hopefully we can go back in summer, Wells cathedral is a must visit, beach clean

brilliant break

Arrived as part of a coach party.
The location of the hotel was good, being on the sea front and a short walk to the town centre.
Our room was on the second (top) floor and had a good sea view. It was ample and cleaned every day,
The restaurant food was good and a choice was available with each meal.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall a nice experience.

Good Experience

Stayed here as part of Coach holiday and as usual coach parties get the worst rooms! Our room was tiny, although we had a sea view it was obscured by a window that had ‘blown’. Our beds were small, we had single duvets in double duvet covers.  One spare blanket for two beds.  Bedside plug behind the other twin bed. Kettle on a very small shelf on one side of the room and cups etc were over the other side of the room. Tiny TV with few channels. The bathroom was very small, we never had a hot or even warm shower. Nowhere to hang clothes or damp towels in the bathroom and our shower dripped non stop even though we reported it twice. People in the next room kept us awake talking until after midnight, we could even hear their kettle boiling.  Meals were good but very rushed. As soon as one course finished, the next was there - way too rushed but the waitresses were friendly, however leaned across us to place plates down, instead of serving from the side.  They also stood watching everyone eat which was off putting.  The manageress was not friendly at all, in fact quite aggressive at times.  All in all ok for a few nights but I don’t  understand why coach parties are treated like second class residents.  It’s short sighted of the hotel management to treat us like this as we now have no inclination to go back to this hotel ever, and won’t recommend it.  

3* Just

We went to smiths in weston super mare to listen to the evening entertainment which was very mediocre as we approached the reception bar the chap behind said if your not a resident you can’t come in here with a very defensive attitude to say the least we explained we popped in earlier and were  told that we could by another member of staff so we had a large white wine and a thatchers gold which came to £12.25 avoid at all costs bar staff attitude stinks we will never go back don’t waste your money

Smiths total nightmare

Annual trip to Weston with a group of friends, ages from 40 to 68. Prob 4th time to stay at Smiths. Ideal location right on seafront and walking distance to the pier and town. Rooms ate clean with comfy beds. Also tea & coffee in room. Ate here for Sunday lunch - delicious. Staff were warm and welcoming, we will be back.
