Newly refurbed I must be in a different hotel. Hotel very dated and does need modernisation. 
Would I stop again no I wouldn’t. 
Only benefits was it was a Wetherspoons so cheap food and drinks.
No car parking car parking is £18 for 24hrs 5 mins walk.

Old & Dated

I thought they did well because of good Friday it was very chaotic in there people taking chairs away from tables large groups of people the food came out piping hot they did well didn't buckle under the pressure the prices are creeping up tho not a cheap meal anymore.

We had a lovely four night break at the Cabot Court earlier in the month. Our room, 210, was at the front and had a great sea view, was nicely decorated and very clean. It was lovely to have a coffee in the morning looking out at the tide coming in. So relaxing.

Some people may be put off as it is over a Wetherspoons pub but, don't be. We heard no noise from the bar, the pub was newly cleaned each morning ready for breakfast serving and the staff were really friendly. 

For between £75 and £85 per night for a room like that is a real bargain. Be open minded and give it a go, well worth it.

Great hotel on Weston sea front

After nearly 2 weeks of waiting for a response, including an email 5 days ago. My wife and I stayed in Room 209 as part of a family remembrance visit. At around midnight a man wandered in to our room (which was locked). We escorted the gentleman from the room, my wife was extremely startled and did not sleep for the rest of the night. We spoke with staff and it appears that a member of night team let the man, who was ‘sleep walking’ in to our room. We were promised that a full investigation would take place and we would be contacted within a few days. We have heard nothing. I cannot express the gravity of how this impacted us and what should have been a special weekend. I very much look forward to a response and the remedial processes you have put in place - you will not need me to stress how different it could have been if it was a lone female or young family.

Pros
It’s good value for money, and an excellent location on the beach front.
I paid the extra for a ‘delux double’ with sea view, and it was definitely worth the extra money. I had a sofa in the bay window overlooking the beach and pier (although a little coffee table would have perfected this spot).
Pub next door means that breakfast is served till midday.

Cons
At night, because of the angle of the lights illuminating the building, the light shines over the top of the curtain illuminating the room. The curtains need a pelmet above them.
Doors slamming and heavy footsteps continued till gone midnight, and started again at 6am. I’m guessing that some of this was staff using the doors between the hotel and the pub. 

Misc
Reception isn’t manned 25/7. It’s confusing whether you are supposed to enter via the pub or enter around the back and ring the bell.

Lovely room but poor night sleep

We stayed here last night for just the one night…….”Thankfully” while staying in the town. We couldn’t believe it when we got to the room. As there is building work currently being carried out our room, along with other rooms were wrapped in polythene from the outside. There was no blind in the bathroom so we daren’t have had a shower because we didn’t know when the builders were turning up. In all fairness the room was very clean and were equipped with the most white, super fluffy towels and a nice, new bathroom suite has been installed. We were woken a multitude of times as we were in a room near to the lift (202). A crowd of people were very loud in the early hours & decided to play with the lift. All we we heard was “ lift going down, door opening, lift going down, doors closing etc….. 😡 There also was a constant dripping sound from the toilet so we had to keep getting up to flush the loo in the hope that the sound would stop……But it didn’t 🤬 We have now arrived home and cannot wait for a good nights sleep tonight. We were not offered a discount considering the inconvenience of the work being carried out. Credit goes to Nathan who checked us in.

Building Work Going On With No Offer Of A Discount

On arrival there was scaffold covering the whole of the building with all upstairs windows covered over due to refurbishment and unable to see the view, but it was business as usual. Ordered two large gin and tonics which took the waiter 15 minutes to organize and charged twice to get the price right! The tonics given to us was elderflower tonic which we didn’t order but the tops had been taken off so just accepted them! We ordered fish and chips and the portion was so small it would hardly have made a sandwich! We left feeling very hungry and disappointed. We have been coming to the cobalt for 30 years and the worst sized meal we’ve had, plus cold chips!! The cobalt needs to step up its game or is it the sign of the times…..terrible. On the way back down the promenade we decided to pop into the chippy for a decent fish and chip!

Bad experience at The Cobalt Hotel, Weston Super Mare 

Just came back from a fab weekend on rugby tour. 

Firstly check is was very smooth with us being a large group. I was allocated a family room and this was a very large room so is great for family's (only 2 or us in it). Bed was really comfortable and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom has bath and shower and is a good size. Room was very clean. On arrival we was given vouchers for breakfast as they currently have scaffolding and coverings on the outside of the building. This meant the room were really hot at times.  Staff were friendly and the food was what you expect from a Wetherspoons. 

Only negatives,  when you check out a 11 but have are attending an event and not leaving town till 6pm there is no where to leave your luggage so have to take it with you. This is hard when you have multiple bags. Maybe a room for luggage would be a good idea.
Also price, £120 per person for 2 nights seems a little high.

We Visited here over the weekend and what a joke! Refused to serve a friend saying he was drunk!! He had had 1 pint!!  accusing him of slurring his words, he is from Lithuania and doesn’t speak very good English, they took his money for drinks and food, then refused to refund him unless he had his card with him! He had to go home and get it to get the refund. Rude and very unprofessional, management also were unhelpful in my opinion, no one seamed to know what they were doing. I’m disgusted that he was treated like this. I will NOT be visiting again that’s for sure. Staff need training on what a drunk person is, I’m not being funny but would they refuse to serve a disabled person is their speech was impacted? It is discrimination and lack of appropriate training. 

Visited for birthday drinks

Impromptu gathering because of the weather, we had initially planned for a party on the beach to celebrate my nephews 30th. The weather forecast was horrendous, called here in the morning & explained our predicament & spoke to Jade, well she and her staff pulled it out of the bag for a mixed family of 25 people of ranging age groups! They truly went above & beyond, the food was good too! Thank you so much xx
