Warm,cozy,clean room with that ever changing view to the village and seals.The host bakes excellent home-made bread. The tap in the bathroom sink is just perfekt: We from Europe really appriciate it!

We stayed for 2 nights in a twin room. We had a nice stay and Jerry is a friendly and hospitable host. Beds comfy with tea and coffee available in the room and milk outside in a small fridge. Breakfast was delicious and despite there being no crab there was still plenty of choice. We had a choice of smoked haddock, full English cooked breakfast or cereal and toast. Jerry even kindly give us plates and cutlery for our takeaway from Jacks Chippy one evening followed by free tea or coffee afterwards! Location is also excellent being just a short walkaway from the main road through the village where there is 2 excellently stocked shops, one of which has a lovely little cafe at the back.

Excellent stay, friendly helpful host and great food!

A wee walk from the centre of Pierowall, this B&B is well-appointed and with friendly, helpful hosts. Good breakfast. Spotless. Wi-fi works. Not far to walk to the bus stop from which you can reach the ferry port in the South of the island.

Great place to stay in Pierowall

We loved our stay at No1 Broughton. Ideally placed on Westray to get about, and the rooms are comfortable and the host, Jerry, is warm and friendly. We loved the little personal touches in the rooms and enjoyed looking at Jerry's wonderful art too. Without a doubt one of the best breakfasts we have had in Scotland. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs are to die for, served with Jerry's own freshly baked bread mmmmmm. 

Cannot go wrong!

We had a very relaxing few days here. I couldn’t fault anything we found. Lovely breakfast , cosy house, friendly owner who got the balance right and was about if needed but left us in peace.  We travelled over a very wet windy weekend so it was great to have a cosy friendly place to return to. It would have been a nice walk to the village, not in our weekend gales , and very well positioned quiet B&B.( we knew we were travelling in November and weather was a gamble , it’s  Scotland?) 
We hope to visit again some day.

Relaxed weekend

Jerry was attentive and thoughtful from the moment we arrived. The house is perfectly situated, overlooking the bay. The breakfast was served in the conservatory, which when we were there had a half a dozen or so seals basking in the sun within feet of us. 

The breakfast was prepared immediately for us (I recommend the Westray Crab Benedict when it’s on Jerry’s menu)

We loved the room and the wonderful original art (also Jerry’s creations)

I have no hesitation in recommending No. 1 Broughton

A Perfect B&B

We stayed at No 1 Broughton for 3 nights, and could have stayed forever. Our Twin room was beautiful, with a view out to the sea. Everything you need is at hand. Having breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the bay is stunning. Our host, Jerry is just awesome, nothing was too much trouble. And he makes a fantastic breakfast. Croissants, the best fruit salad I've ever had, and cooked food too. 
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. 10/10

A wee piece of paradise.

The friendly proprietor, Jerry Wood, is English but has lived on Westray for over 18 years. He has a portfolio career, running his B&B, working at the tiny airport and stone-walling. He is also an artist and a poet and an excellent cook, i.e., crab cakes and poached eggs for breakfast was one option. Excellent fresh fruits, orange juice etc. We stayed there two nights. We had a marvellous room with views over the Pierowall Bay. How many B&B provide a view with up to 18 seals basking directly outside the window? Our room was clean, spacious and nice and bright. The bed and bedding were good and we had a marvellous night’s sleep. The bathroom was spacious and had a good shower.

Excellence in a remote location

No 1 Broughton has the most amazing, peaceful location. The rooms are huge and lovely with fantastic views. Jerry couldn't be a nicer host. And a fabulous breakfast overlooking the bay. Highly recommended!

Wonderful B&B

There are lots of reasons to visit Westray, and staying at Jerry’s B&B is one of them. Lovely en-suite double room with a view of the bay and seals, excellent breakfast options and decorated with the hosts paintings. Add in excellent communication and advice before and during our stay - can’t praise enough.
