Stayed on a Daish's Sunday to Thursday coach holiday. I was allocated, as requested, a top floor single room, which had a sea view, was very quiet and suited me perfectly. All the staff were friendly and efficient especially at meal times which was not easy for them as the hotel was fully booked at the time. Food was generally good, with plenty of choice and adequate portions. Entertainment was provided nightly, but I did not attend any on this occasion, so cannot comment. I enjoyed my stay very much. Thank you.

A nice relaxed stay.

On first arriving found the hotel to be clean and was really nice bedroom with sea view was excellent.heating in the corridors was simplt to hot.entertainment was excellant and the barman lee was first class.the food was the big let down anded up eating out for breakfast and evening meals  one evening we were served with black  potatoes and raw cabbage.there was a large group from plymoth staying and one lady approached the older receptionist to complain .she was told that she would get back to her bud never did and was quite rude to this lady.our waitress was  a nice young lady and very apologetic about the food.quite simply daishes need rethink the kitchen and start serving  decent edible food even if it means increasing prices a bit.as so many people were complainig about it.we would return as the hotel was nice but only if the food is improved

Nice hotel but poor food

We have been to 6 daishs hotels over the winter and this is the one with the worst kitchen service.
Our evening meal used to last over 75 mns with long gaps between each meal.
Breakfast was over 1hr. On leaving day our coach was to leave at 9. the porridge was tepid and lumpy. Our English breakfast did not arrive till 8.45.
It was not the waiting staff at fault.they were waiting for the kitchen to get it ready.
No complaints about the rest of the hotel, just the kitchen.

Eat out.

I really enjoyed  the 5 day break with daish  lovely hotel  food  excellent service from all the staff lovely  position  on sea front  the only draw back food service  was bit slow. You could fault waiting  staff but other wise every thing  excellent  I booked christmas with daish  I would come back every time

My stay at daish's  prince regent was excellent room was good staff were excellen they answered  all my questions

Stayed in Hotel Prince Regent with my other family, I went with Daish Coach company. Room was so old really needs updating big time . Bathroom so small radiator was boiling hot, but eventually I spoke to reception and it was finally turned off. Then the bedroom was cold as that radiator don't work, bed was ok (prefer my own). The corianders in the hotel is unbearable so hot they need to safe heating!!! Well food what can I say I will be here forever, its always so cold, not cooked enough,I like hot food. Its very small portions, if your a man it will not fill them up,more like a kids dinner. You do put requests on your pre order food it's never followed ( it's on paperwork not hard to read it). Some staff are friendly and helpful, but others are not. I did need some nice people in the hotel so that was nice. Weymouth is a lovely place  and plenty things to do and see, entertainment is not my cup of tea... I have been to other hotels with Daish Coaches before but this is the WORST..... 

Avoid Avoid Avoid...

Lovely large room with sea view . The waiter we had in a restaurant for self drive people worked on his own serving twenty people he was excellent but I think he was put under pressure by having no help . isn't it about time dasish holidays came up to date and stop asking people to write down what they want for meals ,meals are dry and cold because they have plated up to early.entertment was ok but different singers every night singing the same songs .

A nice hotel needs updating 

Came down with my family to celebrate my Dad's 85th birthday. Staff at reception, in restaurant and cleaning of rooms very good. Coffee lounge in the Russell Hotel next door was good value. The pack lunches ordered from the hotel for the coach trip home excellent. We will be staying again.

Prince Regent Hotel

Brilliant and very friendly staff. Wonderful food and our room was big with a lovely sea view. This is our second stay in this hotel and all I can say is we were impressed and it gets better and better. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Looking forward to returning in the future. Kev and Phil 

Faultless stay

Reading some the reviews on here for the last 6 months or so, I thought I was about to walk into a war zone.
I have been using this hotel regularly for the last twenty years or so and have seen many changes particularly in the staff.
So let me set the record straight from someone who has worked in the hotel business and also as a guest in hotels all around the world.
On arrival I was very pleasantly welcomed and checked in. I always stay on the fourth floor ( the one where the lift takes you as far as the third floor). Here on this floor are the majority of the single rooms and I was pleased to discover I had been allocated the largest of these rooms.
Yes the carpet is of 70’s/80’s design and there is no shower but a bath (this is due to the slopping ceiling).Otherwise the furniture had been upgraded and it was all very comfortable and pleasant with a good view of the sea.
All the staff were polite, helpful and efficient. However, here is the downside.Meal service, breakfast at 8.30:and dinner at 6.30. It is mainly a coaching house so meal times are strictly set.
It was very clear that the majority of the waiting staff had no idea how to run service in a restaurant , often a lack of napkins, cutlery and cups and saucers.
Menu sheets are issued so you can pick your breakfast and evening meal courses, so in theory everyone knows who is having what and on what table.
It was a lucky dip as the whether your server knew this or not, most of the time it was in the negative which led to confusion and in some cases long waits.
It was also a lucky dip being offered tea or coffee after the evening meal and one had to ask and really that was treated as a sort of afterthought by the staff.
The meals were excellent and very good sized portions.
The restaurant was adequately staffed but a lack of basic serving training had clearly not been implemented and this to me was very disappointing.
Meal times were my only concern during my stay, otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.
The Regent is an old building and as a hotel it is in use 24/7, 365 days a year and therefore constant running repairs and servicing is always being done.I am led to understand that a regular programme of room renovations is being done.
I enjoyed my stay as always and will have no hesitation in rebooking as a self drive Daish’s guest.

Pleasing

Poor housekeeping: on arrival I found hair in bathroom sink, a sticky harbour sweet on one of the taps, dust on every surface and hair and sand in every drawer on the chest of drawers. 2 drawers on the chest were also broken so every time you try and open them they collapse and fall off the runners. Pillows smelt musty. Shower door and toilet roll holder broken. 
We had a guest with special dietary needs. We posted a list of the dietary  requirements by signed delivery 2 months before our holiday. It definitely reached the hotel but they said it didn't. We handed in another list directly to the chef but not one dinner was OK or correct until the very last night, and that was only after we complained. Lots of debris fell down from the chimney breast right by our dinner table. Debris dust and bits of brick all over hearth, carpet and our shoes. Mentioned to manager 3 times but they didn't hoover it up for over 48 hours! A real lack of care, cleanliness and customer service here so after 5 holidays at this hotel, we won't be back. Daish's need to sort this one out! Lots of guests complaining about various things. 
Also we paid £462 for single room with sea view. Extra cost incurred for sea view obviously but also for single supplement. We were on self drive. Met a few others who had paid much much less for exactly the same. Feel cheated. Hugely overpriced, unjust to charge different prices for exact same holiday. Paying for poor housekeeping and a chef that cannot deliver a special dietary requests. Oh, and after we complained, the staff spoke about us behind our backs!! Lovely!!
