The room we were given was nothing like the one we booked through Booking.com. The owners advised that the pictures and description on Booking.com were not indicative of the room you will be given!
Avoid room 8 if you stay there, small stuffy attic room with low beams. It faces a very busy road that is very noisy if you need the windows open. 
The breakfast delivered to the room was good and free parking a bonus. Well situated a short distance from the town.

Not as advertised!

Booked here because it came with  parking .
We had room 10 , and are sorry to say  disappointed with it.
No full height wardrobe ,a cupboard built into the eaves.Came with plenty of coathangers,which have to be on an angle so the doors can close, ill fitting handles /doors.In this cupboard was an iron but no ironing board . 
The mattress was very uncomfortable and noisy every time you moved,the pillows are  hard and after the 1st night I had a bad back and stiff neck!
The curtains are pale and thin and let a lot of light in, blackout curtains needed,so you are not awake from sunrise every morning.
The breakfast bar is narrow  and comes with 2 tall chairs..A good view of the Abbey whilst having your breakfast though.
Tea and coffee are provided,no selection of teas or decaff .Small kettle couldn't make 2  full cups at the same time. A cooler is provided,so you can put cans etc in.
A vanity unit would be good ,a small hairdryer is provided but have to stand at the mirror  opposite .
The bathroom is a good size ,the toiletries smelt lovely,but a  very small shower,easily fit a larger shower in there.
No shower drain cover and could see dark hairs from previous guests in the drain.  
Bath sheets would have been better,as towels on the small size,and a proper bath mat.  
Breakfast was ok,no spoons to eat your egg with though.If they gave you a menu to pick from before you came,you could actually have what you wanted and not given things you wouldn't eat.This would also cut down on their shopping bill and food waste.  
Unfortunately  the lack of customer service is what lets this B & B  down.Other than getting the check in code,never heard from the owners.No quick text to see if everything was ok with our stay,no little tag on the breakfast basket to say Good Morning,hope you enjoy breakfast,small things  can make a big difference.Everthing is down to the guest if you want anything,you have to ring them,they won't contact you to see if you are happy with everything.This is not what the hospitality trade is about,it's about meeting your guests and building a rappor with them,not being at arms length away at the end of a 'phone.
As you have probably guessed we would not recommend or stay here again.We will book in to somewhere with a more personal touch.

No customer service

Really enjoyed our stay here. Immaculate, spacious room. Catering for these times we now live in. Breakfast delivered to your room by 8;30 each day. Anything you need is left at your door. We stayed in room 6 on the second floor and couldn’t hear a sound and slept really well - bed was perfect. 
It’s a ten minute walk to the harbour. A bit of a hill on the way back - but to be honest was perfect to walk off all the fabulous food we ate from all the wonderful restaurants nearby.

Short Break Away

Cute, cosy, quaint, beautifully situated with our room providing great views of the abbey and a short walk into town. The room was spacious, light and very comfortable.

Due to covid precautions, breakfast is provided in the form of a hamper delivered to rooms. There was a lovely variety of items and it was a fun novelty to eat at our own en-suite breakfast bar.

For a 2021 stay-cation experience, we did so well to have found this gem; we'll definitely be rebooking next time we come to Whitby!

Perfect seaside B&B

Lovely welcome by Linda,  room lovely and spacious and clean. Comfy bed slept extremely well no road noise. Compacted bathroom very etiquette. Breakfast left outside you'r room we found it exceptional value for what you pay. Anyone would struggle to eat it absolutely  more than enough.  We loved or stay would definitely stay again and recommend it.

Summer break

On booking, I was concerned about the self service check-in.  I don't use a mobile phone and was worried I might find myself unable to access the hotel.  However, the code and info was e-mailed and it was no problem at all.
Having a car park space allocated to each room is a great benefit in Whitby.  While I was there everyone parked considerately and it worked well.
Room was well furnished and bed was comfortable with decent linen.  There was a sofa, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bistro table/chairs.  Shower room was clean and toiletries were of a good quality.  Ideally bath towel could be better and softer, but not a huge issue.
There was a fridge, well stocked hospitality tray, iron/board and hairdryer.
The breakfast hamper (delivered at 8.30)  is fabulous - lots of choice including hot bread, cereal, cheese and fruits. Your rubbish and used crockery/cutlery are removed daily.  It is quite a treat to relax over breakfast and "slob around" before 
heading out for the day.
There was little noise either inside or outside the hotel and it is easy to find when arriving in town.  It is a steady downhill work to the harbour, which does of course make it a steep uphill walk on the way back - it is hard going & if you are on the 2nd floor it's also a bit of a hike up to your room when you arrive.  But Whitby is very hilly and if you really did struggle there is a bus stop at the door.  
Other than settling up on departure I didn't have any direct contact with the owners. But I'm sure you could get hold of them if you were really stuck with anything.  I always appreciate it when a hotels such as this provide reasonably priced rooms for single travellers, who are so often ripped off

Good Choice

Great location 10 min walk to centre the guest was very clean and warm the room was lovely and well maintained everything we needed for 2 nights the continental breakfast was really nice too would definitely use again 

2 night mid week stay

Difficult times for B&B’s these, but despite that the arrangements at Elford are first rate. 
Easy to find, plenty of parking, easy self check-in and a nice airy room. Breakfast comes in a basket and works really well - just like room service really and we sat by the window and watched the world go by while we ate every morning. Our room had and iron and board, a hairdryer and fridge. 
It’s only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and cabs are plentiful if you need one. 
Overall ‘well done’ I’d say.

Nice Place with Excellent  COVID Arrangements

Where do I start 😉 Absolutely perfect stay in Whitby! Beautiful, historic house with clean and spacious rooms. Check in was trouble free and available from 13:00 which is great and handy when you travel and wish to start exploring early. Everything covid ready, hand sanitisers available on the way in and bottle in the room. Room was spotless clean and has everything you we needed. Extra future of small refrigerator, iron and fan was just a bonus. Breakfast left outside our room every morning was just perfect. Everything fresh, good variety, and we could eat it in bed in our pj's. No need to get up super early. Very good location, just few minutes away from city centre. Car park outside guest house, so we didn't have to worry about the car. Not one negative thing! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Whitby. 

Stayed here for 2 nights, an anniversary gift from our daughter. Can not fault this guest house at all! 
Bedroom was spacious and beautifully decorated, bed was comfy and all facilities available such as iron, ironing board and hairdryer. 
Due to COVID breakfast was served to your room, continental breakfast was plentiful, really enjoyed it! 
We would highly recommend this guest house, a real home from home!
