Had a great stay here, our second visit. Deborah and Martin are great hosts. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Breakfast is delicious and well presented. 
There is a lovely feeling about this place and you feel very welcome a true home from home.

Friendly place

This was our first stay at The Willows and I can’t recommend it highly enough.  Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean with an enormous, super king-size bed. It was well stocked with a plentiful supply of tea & coffee. A nice touch was the fresh milk supplied in a flask, rather than the long-life cartons you’d normally find. Breakfast was lovely with a wide variety of items available, and the home-made jams on offer were delicious.  All this was delivered by Martin & Deborah, who are the most genial of hosts. While Deborah was working her magic in the kitchen, Martin was front of house making sure everyone was well looked after, however they both took the time to recommend pubs, restaurants and places of interest.  This really is a gem of a guest house and well worth a visit.

We’ve just returned from a 3 night stay with friends at The Willows. Fabulous stay. Room was large and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was amazing. Martin and Deb were very accommodating despite being governed by the covid restrictions. Will definitely return. 

Excellent stay

Just had 4 excellent nights stay. Nothing was to much trouble and the room was large and a very nice bathroom. Breakfast 1st class and the plates were warm, which I think is a must. ( Lots of places do not warm the plates). Will definitely stay again. 
All amenities for Whitby were close so we parked up and walked everywhere, locals friendly.

Our stay

This is the second time we have stayed with Martin & Deborah. You are truly treated as part of the family. As my wife has mobility difficulties the wet room and access in the ground floor room is fantastic and something rarely seen in smaller guesthouses. There is a lift too so accessing the dining room is simple. The breakfasts are excellent with home made jams each morning. The kippers are local and have be tried while you stay. I rarely give five stars but cannot fault this.

Fabulous place to stay and great value

Just had 2 nights in the Willows Bagdale Whitby.
Great location 5 minutes walk to the Harbour, Very cheep car park over the road. The couple were very welcoming, and went over the top to make us feel right at home. A twin room at the back was quite a very good size spotlessly clean, a on suite bathroom with a large shower a gain spotless.  A pack up lunch was provided as we were up early for fishing and missed breakfast. On day 2 Breakfast was good with home made marmalade. and all the usual trimmings.  I would recommend to all and will be back soon.

Weekend in Whitby

Be warned,don't book the willows,the room i was given,THE GARDEN ROOM was more like the basement room,it was a total disgrace.the bed cover looked lumpy,and did not look fresh,the wardrobe had no handle the furniture looked old,the window looked like it did not close properly.THE BATHROOM WAS WORST,the shower was fixed to the wall and you had to stand on the bare floor over a drain next to the toilet,which had a dirty tea towel next to it,the room was camouflaged with air freshener to hide the smell of dampness.when I complained,I told if I am not happy leave,which I did,all of that for £92.00 a night,also the parking  at £3.00 per day packed in like sardines,a night mare to get in and out

ruined bank holiday weekend

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights at The Willows.  We specifically opted for the ground floor room to avoid extra stairs for her, and we found it to be very comfortable and clean.  That room may not have quite as much Victorian flare as upstairs, but it is large, the bed is huge (two twins locked together, almost too big), and the bath is perfect for anyone with special mobility needs.  An added benefit it more privacy, as it is the only room on ground level.

The hosts were kind, attentive and friendly, but not at all intrusive, and the breakfasts were lovely and very accommodating for my vegetarian preferences.  I look forward to my next stay there when I can get back to Whitby.

Lovely spot, good location 

We had a wonderful stay last week. Deb & Martin gave a warm and relaxing welcome. Fantastic hosts and make delicious homemade jams & preserves to accompany a delicious breakfast. Room was cosy and clean with a very spacious en-suite. Poppy & Tilly 🐕 did a great job of checking us in 😃. Many thanks

The Willows adds a special something to Whitby

Had a lovely weekend. Brilliant hosts, felt at home. Will definitely recommend and return. Car parking over the road, very handy too. Just a few minutes walk to all that Whitby has to offer. Lovely breakfast with homemade jams topped it off nicely.
