Booked for a two night stay, Monday and Tuesday night in early April. We have stayed at Bagdale several times in the past and have never been disappointed. On booking we were told the main building was full so we booked for the annexe, but two days before we arrived the hotel rang us and offered us room 4 in the main building. Reception is easy and helpful as we arrived very early in the morning and were allowed to park our car on the private hotel car park, which is free to guests, a huge bonus when in Whitby. Lovely big room overlooking the main road with a view of the Abbey. Chesterfield sofa and armchair, coffee table and a huge television. Fabulous courtesy tray of tea, coffee and milk and best of all a massive double bed. En suite bathroom with a wonderful hot shower  and deep bath too. We had a lovely stay and wished we'd have booked another couple of nights. Excellent breakfast, and just a truly delightful stay in a beautiful historic building right in the middle of our favourite place, Whitby.

Went for an overnight stay. My husband is disabled and the annex suited us,  no stairs to climb. The bedroom was massive with plenty of space to move about. The bathroom was large and again plenty of room for my husband to move around. The entrance to Bagdale hotel was on the side and just round the back is the annex. Good breakfast cereal , choice of breakfast full english, kippers, etc. and toast.
We were asked if we needed any thing else toast, tea. Limited  Parking but very welcome.  Car park well lit when come in after going to the town centre late evening. We had room 9, lovely door to the outside and a table and chairs. would
go  again. Very close to the town centre.

Good room for my disabled husband

We have just returned from a short break in Whitby staying in Bagdale Hall
It was a nice clean room with a four poster bed.Really nice shower, plenty of teas coffees etc.Only down side was the room was not in Bagdale Hall but in the next door but one building  down the road ,which is called the Annexe. This was disappointing as really wanted to actually stay in Bagdale Hall, not up the road.Lots of squeaky floor boards and creaking beds that must have been annoying for guests in room below.We had to walk outside downhill for breakfast in Bagdale Hall.
Breakfast was good and today we were offered extra coffee and toast which we were not offered yesterday with different staff.
Overall, a pleasant stay but if we  stayed again, we would request a room that was actually in the original building and not down the road.

Enjoyed but disappointed had to stay in Annexe 

Just home from a wonderful overnight stay at Bagdale Hall and we can’t recommend it enough! The staff were fantastic from start to finish. The superior suite blew us away! The size of the room, the comfortable huge bed, cleanliness and attention to detail were second to none. For breakfast we opted for the Kippers and smoked salmon. Both dishes were delicious.
Bagdale hall itself is a stunning building full of character and perfectly situated. We will be back. Thank you to all the staff.

Perfect

We stayed here a couple of nights to celebrate my birthday. What a truly wonderful time we had! The hotel itself is so full of charm and the staff are so polite, welcoming and friendly. A great breakfast set us up for the days exploring Whitby and all that it has to offer. I thoroughly recommend you stay at this establishment and promise you will not be disappointed. The free onsite parking is a very welcome bonus too.

3 of us Stayed for 2 nights in the family room 18 in the annex 
Wonderful large room one double and 2 single beds  huge bathroom and wardrobe space 
Tea coffee  biscuits and water replenished each day 
Parking on site although we came  by train 
Clean and comfortable 
Breakfast was really good tasty and well cooked nice choice

Fabulous stay

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Bagdale Hall this month. Breakfast was great. Sadly no dinner service. The place is in need of a makeover.  The staff especially receptionists and breakfast servers were superb. Ideally located for railway and bus stations.



Almost great

Nice room and breakfast, the older receptionist alittle too relaxed in her sundress and swearing, shame for such a gorgeous hotel.
The bed was so comfy and good tea and coffee making facilities. Great location 

Bagdale

Extremely disappointed.   We were in the Annexe £175 for one night.  Room huge but needed updating.  The decor and furnishings were tired.  The small forecourt facing our window was dirty and unloved.   Disappointed as we thought we’d splash out a bit as we were celebrating my partner’s birthday but I’ve spent half that amount for a much nicer room in standard B&Bs in the area.  The main part of the hotel is lovely and looked after.  Parking was good.  Staff helpful and great breakfast.  Location was also really good.  I wouldn’t recommend based on the standard of room for the price unfortunately.

Disappointed

Our two-day stay was perfect in every way. The four-poster-bed made our stay a little more romantic and the copious Full English set us up for a couple of day’s exploring. Free parking, wifi and bar also added to our stay away.
