Stayed here for two nights and was very happy with our stay, the hosts went the extra mile to help me secure my motorbike in there garage so it was extra safe , nothing was to much trouble for them, the room was spotless and a lovely Comfy bed and pillows , great stay from start to finish, will definitely try and stay there next time we are in Whitby.

Great place to stay

This charming property retains many of its original features carefully maintained by its friendly hosts Brian and Vicky.
This was our second stay at Big Sky having stayed there in the summertime 2022. The property is situated at the lower part of Chub Hill within easy walking distance of Whitby Town centre. Off road parking is available and essential for a visit to Whitby particularly during busy periods. Our top floor room was spacious and comfortable with en suite shower and toilet. The room has a wonderful view of Pannett Park which is a well kept public park with a wide range of trees and flower beds making it perfect for exploring on an evening stroll. Pannett Park also hosts Whitby museum which is a fascinating place to visit and learn more about the history of Whitby. Fossils, whaling, jet jewelry and Captain Cook are all on display making it a worthwhile visit to learn more about this fascinating town. A short walk into the town centre gives access to the many shops, bars and restaurants plus the beautiful views of the river esk with the red tiled properties lining the harbour. Of course we had to sample the famous Whitby fish and chips before a quick walk back to Big Sky and a rest before an evening out sampling local beers and cocktails in the many pubs and bars. 
Big Sky offer accommodation only and this was ideal for us as we do not eat breakfast and usually like to find a cosy cafe for brunch. We had a very relaxing stay with the added bonus of its available parking and close proximity to the town centre. We also found calling Big Sky direct was the best way to get a great price on our stay.

Great place!

Stayed here 27th to 29th of january the owners brian and vicky are lovely and very welcoming 
The room was spacious and spotless clean and the bed was really comfortable , plenty of tea coffee and milk and towels supplied .
Toilet spotless clean and recently decorated , location could not be better 300 yards from the centre 
would definitely recommend this guesthouse if your staying in whitby it has car parking too 
we will be returning

Great weekend stay at big sky

We had a lovely stay , room was very spacious and a really big comfy bed . Hosts were really friendly & helpful . Guest house is in the perfect location,  only a 10 min walk to the  centre. Cant wait to stay again.

Location fantastic parking no issues was told by Vicky at the beginning of our stay cash so no issues Room clean massive bathroom mattress fantastic pillows a cuddle for your tired head quilt a cuddle ..  Brian ace will be back because it's good value

Great stay

Just come back from staying at Big Sky. Great location, off road parking etc. Stayed in the Annex at the back of the building. It’s quite steep getting into it. So anyone with walking issues may need to stay in the main building. Brian and Vicky great hosts and could not do more to make the stay more comfortable. Will deffo book again 

Well it's safe to say I'm a fussy traveller. And this was Booked last minute (this week we were child free and meant to be in a sea view room in Ibiza but never mind!)
On arrival Brian and Vicky were very welcoming, gave us info on hotel and area, made us feel like nothing would be too much trouble. Room and bathroom were Very clean and tidy. Clean towels/ tea coffee etc available readily. Comfy beds. Very short walk to town centre, beach and abbey. Short drive to fantastic walks with great views, falling foss, robin hoods bay, ravenscar, boggle hole... 
Recommended hotel.

Clean, friendly and close to amenities

First class place to stay - very very comfortable bed/pillows/ bedding / spotlessly clean / great location / very very hospitable owners - was a pleasure to stay there and definitely will stay again 
Private garage parking was offered as we’d were there for six nights

Stayed in Whitby many times but first time at big sky .... lovely friendly place very clean comfy rooms. Great breakfast and nothing is to much trouble.good location to centre of Whitby .... would certainly stay again

Lovely place

Big sky lovely place lovely people except no breakfast included which was disappointing. Not a long walk to whitby town centre but slightly uphill coming back we were in the room above the garage at the back of the garden lovely room .
