My sister and I stayed at The Whalebone Arch last weekend. It was our first visit to Whitby and we loved Whitby. 
The B&B is on the West Cliff with the town below about a 10 minute walk away. It is a nice walk but anyone with mobility issues would benefit from staying closer to town due to the steps and slopes. 

Positive during our stay:
The Whalebone Arch is very close to the sea and in a lovely position. 
There is free parking. 
Fresh milk was provided with a box of replenishments such as teabags and plates and cutlery provided. 
The B&B was very clean.
The room was refurbished to a high standard. 

The negatives during our stay:
There were a few niggles we found, which I noted were also picked up by other reviewers back in 2019 and nothing has changed in that time. 
The room was very cold - it is March and the weather was very temperamental. We turned the heating on and it kept turning itself off. 
The bathroom was freezing and the heated towel rail did not warm the room. 
The bathroom mirror is very high for some people and we had to stand on our tiptoes to look in the mirror. 
The shower pressure was quite low, the temperature could only be turned up to a certain temperature and there was no handrail to hold onto whilst washing. 
The TV was up high on the wardrobe and some of the screen obscured. The channels did not always come on. The room would benefit from having a change around maybe the wardrobe should be where the chest of drawers currently is and the tv goes on top of the chest of drawers. 

Overall we had a nice stay and really enjoyed our time in Whitby.

Our first visit to Whitby

We have always wanted to go to Whitby, and touched lucky by choosing this hotel for our short stay! Beautiful room, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. Short walk to sea front. Perfect. It was even arranged that we could park without charge. However, parking is at a premium so we parked up and walked everywhere in case we didnt get our parking spot again! Would stay again no problem!

Lovely stay in Whitby

What a beautiful place, felt like home from home, will definitely be booking to go again. The bed was very comfy, lovely proper wood furniture, they have gone to a lot of trouble and it shows, first time I have reviewed a guest house

Perfect 

We stayed for a weekend and had a great time,   the room was fantastic , comfortable everything we needed. The room was spotless and nothing was a problem , the property was not far from town lovely walk we would stay every time we visit whitby 

Fantastic accommodation 

Good value, modern, comfortable, stylish guest house, a minute from the beach and a few minutes' walk from Whitby town centre. Lots of nice touches - proper milk in an in-room fridge for morning tea/coffee rather than the unappealing long-life milk pots you usually get; smart TV so you can access your own streaming service accounts; helpful local info and recommendations in a folder in the room. It feels like the owners have really thought about their guests' experience. 

The only slight annoyance was they ask you to pay a deposit in advance, and then pay the remainder in cash, via an envelope left in the room. "We no longer have a card machine," feels like a fairly lame excuse in 2023!

Good value, modern, comfortable, stylish guest house, close to beach and Whitby town centre

4th time staying at The Whalebone Arch.Room spacious,  clean and plenty of storage.  Fridge in room, welcome pack of milk and bottled water. Tea, coffee  making facilities.  Close proximity to Whitby centre.  Thanks Dave and Emma for another enjoyable stay. 

Great stay

The room is spacious, the shower is on the small side (telephone box size), the room was cool. Parking is excellent and straight forward.

We would not come again though due to lack of quality of sleep. Its bed only (that's ok), but could not get a decent night sleep due to light pollution in the room. There is a large gap under the door letting light in and they don't turn off the lights on the stairs. The main problem was the green light from the fire emergency safety light that illuminated a green light into the room, and very noticeable when trying to sleep . These should be in the corridor/stairs to light up escape route.

Everything about our stay was perfect.The room was spotlessly clean the bed was comfortable with quality bedding and pillows.The decor was modern and we were supplied with Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.There was milk and water in the mini fridge and a good supply of tea/coffee/chocolate and biscuits.A very informative folder was left for us with lots of local information to help us make the most of our stay.The host was so friendly and helpful,we cannot recommend the Whalebone Arch enough,book with confidence.

Whalebone Arch short break

Just returned from Whitby and had the pleasure of staying at the Whale Arch, such a delight, will deffo be booking again, all in walking distance, the room was very big, comfi bed, everything you need beautiful window view of the sea. 

Brilliant Accommodation 

Cannot fault this accommodation. Beautifully decorated throughout. I was in room 4 at the top, spotlessly clean and very spacious. 15min walk from the station and the town. My first visit to Whitby which is a very pretty town.I would definitely recommend the Whalebone Arch
