What a hidden gem. A warm and welcoming B&B a 15 min stroll to the harbour. Very comfortable, well heated spotlessly clean bedroom with a decent hot shower. So peaceful.  A lovely breakfast served to order with 5 star ingredients. This was an overnight business stop but we would certainly love to return.

Lovely room, very light and spacious - we had a great night’s sleep. Spotless room. And a delicious breakfast. Had the full English - fresh scrambled and poached eggs were much appreciated. 

Walked 15-20mins into town for dinner at The Peddler which we enjoyed.

Beautifully restored Georgian house in a quite part of Whitehaven with a bus stop into town just outside if you don't want the walk.

Hosts very pleasant, huge room spotless and quiet and a very good breakfast.

Ideal place to stay - would come again.

What a good B&B should be - Just excellent!

We cannot fault this lovely bed and breakfast, run by experienced hosts who make sure that all guests experience the same high quality stay and service. Situated in a comfortable, character property with very generous proportions, there is car parking right at the front door. We enjoyed the 20 minute stroll down the hill to the town and waterfront. Our room was large with the big sash window letting in lots of natural light. The comfortable bed and total quiet at night made for a good sleep. Downstairs is another large room where breakfast is served, with couches and a television if you would like to relax here in the evening. The breakfast was excellent - quality ingredients prepared and presented well. At a time when so many prices are going up and up, they have worked hard to keep the cost of a night here at the same level, and it represents excellent value.

Highly recommend

The corner house is in a terrific location, quiet, and walkable to town. Dave and Leisa were wonderful hosts.  The highlight of our day was breakfast. They are wonderful cooks and we are now starting our diets. Charlie (their dog) helped keep us company while our pets were back in the states. The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Great value as well.

This bed and breakfast is exceptional. The owners Leisa and Dave worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience. Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was amazing and so fresh. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Whitehaven. Location was great - easy walk to town and the harbour area with some good places to eat/drink.
Great walks too and fabulous coastal scenery.

Up there with the best

Friendly family run B&B. Spotlessly clean and well presented property with a huge comfortable residents lounge. 
Our room was a little small but ample for our stay with everything you would need. 
Breakfast was one of the best we've had. Everything cooked fresh to order and served piping hot.
Private parking. Location was good, just 10 minutes walk into the centre of town.

What a gem

We booked here for three nights at the  last minute for my wife's birthday weekend.
From the moment we turned on to the driveway we were struck by the beauty of the house, and once inside it didn't fail to impress us.
We were given a  welcome by Leisa who showed to our room, and what a fantastic  room it was. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and bed and breakfasts over the last few years and this one was one of the best. The room was spacious with two large sash windows, a small dressing area with another large window and a magnificent bathroom with a roll top bath.
Breakfast was very good, served by Dave, who was friendly and chatty and told us about some of the places of interest in the area.
He also told us about the history  of the house which was interesting.
The Corner House is a credit to Leisa and Dave, so much care has been taken to maintain the period features  while making it comfortably modern.

Just beautiful 

The Corner House is a real asset to Whitehaven and a great place to stay if you’re visiting the local area. Whitehaven provides good accessibility to much of the West Lakes.

Our first impression was that the Victorian building is a marvel, it has retained many of its original features though is suitably adapted with necessary modern facilities. The room we stayed in was decorated in keeping with the house, spacious and the bed had good quality bed linen, and pillows. The welcome tray had plenty and is restored daily. The roll top free standing bath is a nice touch to the also spacious bathroom. Overall I have no complaints other than that it seemed to be incredibly warm over night though this could be due to the recent weather. 

The breakfast service was really efficient whilst the breakfast its self was good and came in a generous portion, breakfast was included in the price of our stay of which was great value for money.

Admittedly we did not spend much time in Whitehaven as we prefer to explore further though we did find a couple of food and drink spots worth visiting in Whitehaven such as Casa A Roma and Cleavers Wine & Dine. The Corner House is about a 10-15 minute walk out of the centre and is a reasonable drive to Cockermouth, Loweswater, Wasdale and other local spots.
