Amazing Staff, and made to feel very welcome. Rooms are clean and tidy, Pat and Les are very welcoming. 100% happy with my experience there. I'll be back again. Perfect location, well situated for local shops, and airport

Awesome place

From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome and the staff are friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are light and airy and are a good size with everything you require for a comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable, and we had a great view across the Mersey back towards the Liverpool Skyline. We slept with the window open and were surprised how quiet the local area was. The breakfast was superb with good quality ingredients used. The hotel is situated a stones throw from the River Mersey and has great links to all the local transport.  Thanks to David and his wonderful staff for a great stay we will be back.

Great little Hotel

A group of friends and I travelled up from London for the football and stayed in the newly refurbished Mersey View. 
The new owners have done a simply outstanding job of modernising this public house and hotel
 The decor is bright and contemporary and the rooms spotlessly clean and very comfortable. 
Les and his good lady are extremely hospitable and offered a wealth of advise for first time travellers to the region. 
Congratulations on a first class establishment you two.

Fantastic find

Just heard best news ever can’t believe after all these years that the Mersey view is having a total face lift exciting times a head for hale bank. Not only that the couple who are now running the place are absolute fantastic looked forward to some great nights with Pat and Les

Refurbishment

Stopped here for one night only and tick tick tick. Colin and Claire are fantastic hosts and the place is clean and very well kept. All basic needs are accounted for. 
Very friendly and felt at home. Recommend highly.  Also the bestest ever pint of Guinness worth a visit just for the beer.

Wow excellent 

I enjoyed my stay at the Mersey View Hotel.

The room I stayed was very clean with excellent facilities including Tea & Coffee which was basic. The bathroom was clean and had a really good shower.

The only downside was the limited choice of breakfast as it a limited number of cereals even though it had included fresh fruit and yoghurt.

2 night stay

I stayed in this hotel last weekend when I went to visit my Granddaughter.  A great price with clean rooms and I was lucky to be allocated a room with a lovely view of the Mersey river.

On my first night I dropped something which due to there being no plug in the bathroom sink went straight down the plug hole  (please fix so it doesn't happen to anyone else).  The item I lost was of extreme sentimental value to me and Gill the owner was wonderful trying to help, we retrieved the necklace but unfortunately the stone had come out - her husband Brad went into the room on the Saturday when I went out and clearly dismantled the bathroom sink and was able to retrieve the stone and left it on the bed for me when I got back.  I was so impressed and so very very grateful.

The staff I met were lovely and I really enjoyed the continental breakfast that is included in the price of the room.

If I was going to make any criticism it would be my shower having read some reviews after I booked I was looking forward to the power shower I had read about but I have to say it was anything but and I found it quite difficult to wash my hair.

I will certainly have no hesitation in trying to book again the next time I am in Widnes and will have no hesitation in recommending to anyone looking for a room in the area.

Super Friendly Owners

Booked this hotel as I was on business in Widnes. Lovely area surrounding a friendly pub. Staff very helpful. Beds were of great quality and I slept very well in it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I was here on business and that involved getting up early in the morning for work. On the last night I was in bed by 10.30pm as I had to be up for 6.30am for work on this particular morning. I could hear singing and banging in the pub below which resulted in me not getting a wink of sleep until nearly 1-2am. I had to message my boss to say I wouldn't be able to come in that early on no sleep. Which was a shame as the whole overall stay was pleasant but that last night ruined it

Great rooms and staff 

We found it difficult to find a hotel, short notice, that could provide a triple room and a single room but Mersey View Hotel came to our rescue. It's actually rooms available above a pub in a residential area of Widnes rather than a hotel but they were recently decorated and very clean, quiet and comfortable. The amenities are basic but they show attention. I liked the, help yourself, continental style, breakfast outside of the rooms that you then take back to your room. We went for a quick drink in the pub below, where you check in and out and found the staff and, indeed, the locals extremely helpful and friendly. Really good value for money. The City of Liverpool is only 20 minutes away by car or the bus stop is just outside the pub with a regular route to Albert Dock and back.

Clean and friendly

When we arrived we were told by a very apologetic lady that the rooms we had booked weren’t available! She rang the owner who said we couldn’t have two double rooms but we could have two rooms with single beds! Not a problem for one night!
It advertised as doing food, however when we enquired we were told they didn’t have a chef.  So we had to go elsewhere for sustenance!
The rooms weren’t dirty but they were very basic!
