What a gem of a place. Couldn’t fault it. Warm and friendly staff . Exceptionally clean room, comfortable bed.
Plenty of parking.
Great food, extensive menu. Friday steak night is one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Will definitely revisit.

Last minute on Christmas eve as our camper van broke down
Helen was so accomodating stating they were closed but nevertheless gave us a room only 
Spotlessly clean very comfortable room in beautiful area
Helen was very friendly  a lovely person and we would definatly recommend this hotel to all.


Last min  room at the inn!

What a find! Booked via a Wowcher deal, so we weren't expecting it to be amazing. How wrong we were!! The hotel is situated in a gloriously peaceful location, yet just a 10/15 minute drive from various areas of interest.
The hotel itself, although maybe a little dated in terms of decor, was immaculately clean and well presented. A lovely warm and inviting bar area, with incredibly reasonable prices for the drinks.
We ate there on both nights of our stay and, without doubt, it was some of the best food we'd ever eaten....Freshly prepared, delicious and very reasonably. My Partner actually went as far as to say that the chicken dish she'd had was "probably the best thing I've ever eaten!"
Friday night was steak night, it gets very busy, and the steaks were cooked to perfection!
Our room was much larger than we expected it to be, was very well decorated and spotlessly clean!
Finally, I have to mention the staff. Every single one we came into contact with was incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming...A credit to the hotel.
Without hesitation, when we get the chance to visit the area again, we'll stay at The Wheyrigg Hotel.

A gem!

Perfect stopover place after playing Solfest. Really friendly helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Clean. Reall tasty, much needed, hangover curing breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings.

Perfect. Just what you need!

Just returned from a 2 night stay. 
Not very impressive from the outside when you first arrive. 

However, the Whey Rigg is impressive in its staff, food and cleanliness. 

It’s a very good 3 star country hotel. 

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, big shout out to Grace who even carried our case upstairs for us, as well as giving us excellent service in the restaurant. 

Prices for food and drinks are extremely reasonable. 

We would definitely return. 

Lovely two nights stay. 

Having now stayed at the ' Wheyrigg Hall Hotel' for the last 5 /6 years, we can say that, Helen & her team, Grace, Chelsea, the chef's the boys and girls, are just the best! 
Comfortable 'homely rooms' the food & choice simply the best' the staff are wonderful, they go out of their way to please, { in every conceivable way } they are second to none in their abilities!
We look forward to our next yearly visit in 2024

Very hard working and friendly staff. Food was traditional fare but really tasty and reasonably priced as was the wine. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The hotel has a lot of character and charm. Would definitely recommend a stay. Would be an added bonus if they could install an electric charging unit. Nearest fast charge is at Orton Grange. Cransons shop and cafe. ( Next nearest would be Carlisle)

A little gem in the country side.

We stayed recently for one night, the hotel is excellent great staff that were very attentive and organised, the food and wine were excellent priced perfectly and the portions were very good. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough, well done and thank you for a great experience. 

Excellent in all aspects. 

I have used this hotel a number of times before and was once again delighted by the service offered.  The bed (room 3) was super comfy and I slept like a log.  The evening meal and breakfast were, as usual, really well cooked with great service.  Steak Pie is my 'Go to' dish and this one was absolutely first class, tasty, proper pie (pastry top and bottom), succulent steak and really lovely gravy topped off with masses of veg.  

Never fails to please!

We stayed for two nights at Wheyrigg Hotel. If you’re looking for fancy boutique hotel or grand country house hotel this isn’t the place for you. 
However if you are looking for warm welcome , spotlessly clean with great home cooking then this is it. We had meals both night , great value steak night on Friday and delicious fish on Saturday. The decor is definitely from 70’s but don’t let that put you off.
