We returned home yesterday after 3 nights at the Glaisnock Guest House, having been initially concerned about going away in the middle of the Covid crisis. We found the Glaisnock to be very clean, comfortable and fully set up for social distancing. The staff could not have been more welcoming, and we enjoyed hearty breakfasts and evening meals  (in our case, vegetarian) for the duration of our stay. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and excellent value for money.  We look forward to returning in the spring.

An excellent guest house!

What a wonderful little cafe! Great food. Great service. We sat outside at lunch and it was fab. Super friendly staff too. The soup of the day was delicious. My husband’s pie was “spectacular”. Definitely recommend!  

Wonderful food

Spent two nights here in August 2020. Pet friendly, very clean and tidy. Very good rooms. Great meals and very friendly and attentive owners. Most enjoyable stay....highly recommended....10 out of 10. In a very interesting area, lots to see and do. Wigtown itself is well worth a visit

Superb place to stay

This was the best b&b I have stayed in, beautiful room, stylish and tasteful. Fantastic breakfast. I only wished I had time to stay a 2nd night. Gem of a place. Can not reccomend this high enough. The couple who own it were fantastic!

Highlight of my Scottish trip.

My friend and I have just spent a fabulous two days at this clean, comfortable guest house with Riley the dog. We were made to feel very welcome by the lovely hosts, Carl and Stephanie, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, despite the less than great weather. The food in the cafe is fantastic and we'd definitely recommend a stay in this delightful, book-filled place.

This is a good place to stay in a charming small town.  The rooms were large and very comfortably furnished with good attention to detail.  High level of cleanliness, especially with COVID precautions.  Very good vegetarian food choice and tasty breakfasts.  Carl and Stephanie were very welcoming and friendly - would certainly stay here again - also dog friendly.

Fantastic  value, great breakfast with a spacious, clean and comfortable room. Stayed previously and will stay again in the future. Flexible owners that now offer an evening meal, although shop and pub are in the village and all within walking distance.

Stayed two nights at Glaisnock as a base for walking adventures in and around Galloway.  What a fantastic place and great value for money.  Was superbly looked after by Julie and Natascha - veggie/vegan breakfasts were top notch.  Room comfy and spotlessly clean.  Nothing too much trouble and I'd definitely stay again AND recommend this great place to anyone.  Keep up the at work and thanks for a super stay.

Great VFM guest house in a lovely town

My first visit to Wigtown, I visited with a friend who had stayed here previously and loved it. I was given first chouce of rooms. My room as amazing for the price, huge, comfortable, clean well decorated with ensuite. The complimentary bottle of wine made it even better 😉Stayed for two nights but would have gladly stayed longer. Friendly and welcoming staff, fab breakfast, great choice and the room you eat it in is lovely, off that room is a room full of books where you can sit and relax. Had an amazing sleep, bed very comfortable, this really is a first class b&b. Hope I can visit next year again. Thank you 

Truly splendid, comfort and relaxation at it's best

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely guest house. We experieced Brilliant service from both friendly staff and had the most comfortable experience at breakfast this morning. Everything and everyone was perfect will be staying here again
