Me and my partner have stayed at Latimer house twice now and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay both times. Rooms are lovely and spacious and beds are very comfortable. Also a great location for seeing the local sights! 

2nd visit to latimer house!

Upon arrival we parked in overflow car park with no problems second day We managed to park out front. We were in room 5 which was well sized and beautifully laid out. Tea/ coffee making facilities, 55 inch tv, full length mirror, heating, small table and chairs which was nice to have for coffee time instead of having to sit on bed. Beautiful and large en suite shower room with a decent shower only fault was the bathroom mirror was to high. Easy keyless entry system if you like the personal touch this place is not for you,but to be honest we prefer to be left alone. Overall we loved this place and would definitely return.

Anniversary treat

We made the booking for a one night stay at Latimer House given that they advertised free parking + over flow parking. When we arrived at 9pm there were no spaces available at the front of the property so we went about finding the overflow parking. Unfortunately we were unable to access it as there was a vehicle parked in the middle of the driveway. We used the phone number provided to contact the property staff, as Latimer house is unmanned, but had no response. We had to park a few streets away. 
When we finally got to our room, which was spacious, modern & clean, there were no towels available to us. 
In the morning I again try to contact staff to ask for some towels but just like the night before, no response. 
Very disappointing as the property itself is very well presented. The service is what lets it down. 

Service lets it down! 

Only stayed for one night but found the place very good. Good safe parking was provided and sent key code by email. The room was a good size with an excellent bed with good quality linen. Good tv, tea and coffee and and large bathroom. The room was decorated to a high standard. I’ll be back. Rich

Excellent and high quality

On arrival seemed good, then down hill pillows very poor quality, no pillow protectors which are a must, mattress cheap and nasty quilt  cheap quality,  no pressure on shower, we were there for 2 nights advertised house keeping NON EXISTENT. NO HEATING so very cold in the night and morning, curtains bottoms mouldy, we paid £250 what a rip off this is NO WAY A,4 STAR ESTABLISHMENT so disappointed no way has this been refurbished. Book needs up dating mentions breakages of breakfast hamper there isn't one  PEOPLE  BE AWARE DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.  we were in room 7 did not use garden never been cleaned mouldy cushions

The first thing you have to do is find the place. As you come down from Windermere it is on the left but it is not at street level. Look out for a small car park with a sign Latimer House parking but be careful as this park is also used by the accountant firm that is next to the guest house, so do not use their spaces.

For reception you ring the mobile number posted on the door. The lady who greeted us was friendly and told us if we needed anything to text her. She then pointed out where our room was. 
The room is a good size with a bed, wardrobe, two comfy chairs,coffee table, bedside units, TV, and tea coffee facilities. The bathroom is also a decent size, the shower cubicle is large however the shower pressure is not great ...ok but not great. 
Wi Fi and a hairdryer also available in the room.

The whole room looks like it has recently been refurbished.

Overall a good stay.

A few suggestions for the owner. Provide hooks in the bathroom for wet gear, also a boot tray to prevent mud all over the bathroom floor. Plus add a shelf or two for toiletries or indeed another hook for those guests who have hanging toiletry bags.

The room was not serviced between nights. Not sure if this is standard procedure for guest houses. Not bothered about the bed being made etc but would have liked the tea/coffee facilities to be replenished.

No kids or dogs here.. in fact I may have read somewhere not even service dogs but am not sure if my memory is correct.
Overall a decent stay

Generally Good

Stayed for one night end of Oct. Room was ok size and facing the main road. Bed was comfortable and king size with nice bedding. Bathroom was nice quality with good shower.  Reasonably priced for a last minute deal. Couple of issues for us - had to park a couple of streets away as there was no parking left at the hotel(this was mentioned when checking in and no mention of any additional overflow parking was offered by the lady checking us in) not a massive issue. Only other thing we found the room to be quite noisy with traffic as it faced onto the main road into Bowness from early morning and only single glazed windows. There was also no offer of breakfast. Only minor issues and we did like it there and would happily stay again.

Good location nice hotel

Of Room 5   Has to be one of the smallest rooms we have stayed in whilst in Bowness. This particular room you cannot swing a cat so to speak, there is no wardrobe !! no dresser !! and the shower took quite a while to fathom. The room was nice and clean and you can see there has been refurbishment of late but considering the above and no breakfast ( sign of the times currently ) the room is certainly not worth the £150 a night we paid. At best the room is £110 though think baring in mind how double glazing  has become less expensive these days, that the owner should replace the single glass pains. This room over winter months will be freezing.  Finally there is no extractor or window in the shower room which seemed odd.

Disappointed

Lovely accommodation, stayed in the suite which had a lovely patio area. Very well placed for walking into Bowness. Owner was very friendly, only drawback is breakfast not served but plenty of nice places
on Bowness to choose from within 5 mins walk. Would recommend!

Great Location!

From booking to arriving very friendly service.  No idea how I’ve missed this gem on my travels to Bowness over the years?

Booked single occupancy superior double/en suite.  Checked before I booked same price for single occupancy as some cheeky devils charge extra!!  I avoid these establishments.  Was even directed to discount on line when booking direct.

Checked in & knew straight away was nice place to stay.  Lovely old building, tastefully decorated & warm welcome.  No breakfast but that suits me.  Find the getting up early & serving between 8 & 9.30 too much of a restriction in other places.

Location couldn’t be better.  Room was light & airy, lovely bathroom (loo with a view).  Nice sized TV too.

Would have liked a couple of USB sockets but no major issue.

Will definitely book again now I’ve found it.
