We loved our 2 night stay at Rum Doodle! Our room was beautifully decorated, bed and pillows very comfy and we particularly appreciated the small touches (Flannels, robes, wine on arrival, breakfast service on the room).. Service was impeccable, breakfast beautiful, location quiet and near enough to the Lakes. Our best room yet in Windermere - beautiful view whilst enjoying breakfast in our room - we'll definitely come back.

PS: parking is a bit tight, but there are extra spaces at the front of the property and on the side streets.

Beautifully decorated B&B

A quaint and quirky B&B we absolutely loved it. 
We stayed in the Summit room top of the house it was amazing, views from windows were brill watching the jets flying through the hills was amazing. 
The whole B&B was spotless, the hosts were amazing, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted with coffee and biscuits  when we arrived and info given regarding our room etc. 
The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get out of it. Everything you need including toiletries, towels and drinks were available our room. Attention to detail was amazing, we certainly will be back. 
The breakfast menu was plentiful but the cooked breakfast was the best !

Amazing quaint and quirky oasis.

We are only 1 night in to a 2 night stay and it's one of the best places we have stayed (we have travelled quite a lot). It was easy to park when we arrived, a lady gave us the room key even though the room wasn't ready (we were an hour early) so we could walk in to Windermere. My wife had put 9:00am for breakfast but we were up earlier so the lady just did it straight away. Couldn't do enough for you. The location is great as well, 10 minutes to Bowness and 10 minutes to Windermere. Would stay here again 100%

Great place to stay

Had a really fab stay at the Rum Doodle. The accommodation is centrally located between Bowness and Windermere. There are a choice of rooms and each one of them different, so advisable to check each one before booking, to make sure it meets your requirements.

The room we had was at the rear of the building which was very quiet and was not overlooked. It was immaculate with it's decor & cleanliness, the bed was really comfy too.

Breakfast served between 08:30 & 09:30, which was ideal for us. Two of the bedrooms have facilities for breakfast in the room, so well worth checking these out before booking, if this is a preference.

The staff & owner of the Rum Doodle are extremely friendly, helpful and courteous, nothing was too much trouble during our stay.

Would we return? that's a certainty!

Pleasant & friendly place to stay in Bowness.

Our room was lovely and spacious, with everything you could need, including toiletries, hairdryer, tea/ coffee and biscuits! The bed was very comfortable and the room was so clean. The staff were very kind and made us feel very comfortable. The breakfast was a good way to start our days, served between 8:30-9:30 with a good choice of cereals, fruit and warm cooked breakfasts. The woman who served us was so friendly. The location of the b&b was perfect for us, in between Windermere and Bowness, it was about a 15/20 minute walk to the centre with lots of pubs/ restaurants shops and the lake. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it!PS we were staying in room number 5 (wish)😊

Perfect stay!

Oh where to start? Greeted with the offer of tea and cake on arrival, how lovely. Lovely room (All the numbers are back to front!) Tea and coffee making facilities in an aged suitcase, that works perfectly. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and lovely armchairs to look at the amazing views. 
Breakfast was hot and plentiful, soya milk available despite my forgetting to ask before we arrived. Nice big cafetiere of coffee. Have to commend them on the scrambled eggs- delicious. 
Would happily stay again and thoroughly recommend them. 

Quirky but great 

Stayed two nights with work and really impressed with everything - our room was quite small but had all that we needed and was very comfortable. The welcome was very  warm (tea and cake!) and the breakfasts cooked to order were top notch. Special thanks to the team member serving breakfast for being so friendly and cheerful.

Best breakfast in Bowness!

I've based this review purely on our stay and not the experience we could have had.

The guest house is located within walking distance to Bowness and the lake. The quirky interior is just up my street and I appreciated all the attention to detail in the decor.

If you can afford to,  upgrade to a larger room. The small double was really very small indeed, If you are a larger individual you would struggle in the minute bathroom.
The bed seems to be a small double and not a full size, although it was comfortable and the linen very clean I felt like either me or my husband may fall out.  So as I say if you can afford to upgrade then do so.

Breakfast was great with a help yourself selection of fruit, cereal, yoghurts and toast and a menu of 4 or 5 choices of cooked dishes. The service was fantastic.

The little touch of a glass of wine on arrival was greatly appreciated and it's definitely somewhere we would visit again.

Please however don't forget to clean the items that are hard to reach such as dusty light fittings and windows.

Great little find.

Great little find 

Myself and my partner stayed at the Rum Doodle for five nights. We were instantly made to feel welcome by the owners. The decor was inviting and homely, very clean. The breakfasts we could not fault, delicious. I would definitely recommend this B&B to any friends and family going on holiday to the Lake District.

Excellent B&B

We had a fabulous time at Run Doodle. When we arrived the gentleman carried my case up to the room and offered us both a lovely glass of wine. The room was beautiful, big and clean with a nice view. Breakfast was amazing, it was brought up to our room both mornings and great options on the menu to choose from. Probably one of the nicest b&b breakfasts I’ve ever had actually. The maid was also absolutely lovely, very friendly and pleasant. We would certainly stay here again. Thanks Rum Doodle!
