the room was quite clean the shower room and toilet very clean but the towel rail was never heated so when your towels got wet they stayed wet , ample breakfast and served fast but cereals could be better quality the outside could do with weeding so you could sit at the table

dissappointing stay

I booked this guest house for a 2 night stay and  booking was confirmed. A few days later I recieved a call from the owner to say he could no longer accommodate us as due a fault on his part he had made a error and double booked!! He did suggest an alternative guest house but obviously we didn't have much choice as our train tickets were now also booked. He booked us the alternative guest house and as gesture of goodwill refunded us £15.

Not great

I booked a one night stay at this B&B for a birthday suprise, the B&B is easy to find, just off the main road into Bowness. 

Upon arrival we were taken to our room, which was clean and cosy. The breakfast times seemed a little short, although we needed to leave early to attend gorge walking, choice of breakfast included cereal, yogurt, fruit and well as cooked breakfast.

Situated down a street opposite the cinema, the guest house did what we booked it for, a pleasant and quiet area and a room that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a full English with help yourself cereal, fruit and yoghurt, oh and orange/Apple juice. 

A place to stay

We have just returned from a lovely 2 days in the lake district. The Eastbourne is a lovely guest house with lots of period features, the hosts were very welcoming although they do not live onsite. We were made to feel very welcome when we went in for breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. The sausage used for the breakfast was a good quality and delicious. Our room was room 2 which was on the ground floor with a huge front window. The room was a good size with tea and coffee and a huge very comfortable bed. Now the not so good for us anyway, we could see that no expense had been spared on building an en suite bathroom within the room it was lovely and finished to a high spec. That's until we attempted to take a shower and the door opening was so small I challenge even a skinny person to get through that door being 12 to 16 inches wide tops. I only just managed to get in, but my husband had no chance being six foot four and built like a brick sh+×+t house. The hotel was full so we managed with washes. I am confident that we will not be the only ones to have this problem . So if you are a skinny midget room 2 is for you.
