Just returned from a 2 day break staying at Storrs Gatehouse, excellent accommodation tastefully decorated,superb breakfast, highly recommend as hosts Susann and Glen,s attention to detail is exemplary ensuring you have an enjoyable stay,will definitely return.



Superb Guesthouse 

What a fantastic little guest house. The owners looked after us to the highest of standards. We had a beautiful room which was well equipped. The local information was second to none, very useful and appreciated. The breakfast was to die for. We will definitely keep this place in our address book for future occasions

Without doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Such a warm and friendly welcome. Delicious food. Lovely spacious room with a great bed. Warm hot shower. Nice and powerful. Ideal location. We cannot wait to come back. Thanks for a magical stay.

Beat B&B

Well what a gorgeous weekend we have just had. We were welcomed on Friday by Susann, who was so lovely and helpful the whole weekend; giving us tips of places to visit. The room was top floor, lovely and warm and homely with quite possibly the BEST shower on earth. So powerful, i wanted to stay in there for hours! Amazing location with access to walks, ferry and boat trips and close to lots of pubs, restaurants and coffee places. Let’s talk about the breakfast. I dreamt about it last night. We both had the yogurt, fresh fruit and granola to start and then full breakfast for the main course, which was cooked perfectly and so filling. On the second morning I went for the salmon and scrambled eggs on muffin and it was quite literally the most delicious thing I’ve ever put In my mouth. Huge thanks to Glen for cooking it. Also wanted to mention Vicky who works in the morning ; she was so lovely and, again, had lots of helpful tips to share on the local area. A real ‘family’ feel and we will definitely be returning one day. 

A dreamy stay. 

Susan & Glen heartwarming as always, this really is the best place to stay anywhere in the Lake District. Immaculate warm rooms with a freshly cooked breakfast to die for. Change nothing you two, we love it to bits. See you soon. Paula & Chris ❤️

The Jewel In Lake Districts Crown

Our third visit to storrs gate house and Glen and Susann were amazing as usual,so warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The room with all its superb deco and with the excellent breakfast is definitely 5 star rating from us.

Exceptionally clean property and tastefully decorated. Susan and Glenn were very welcoming and hospitable, providing helpful information on the local area when needed. The breakfast was huge! 
 A very comfortable stay in a well located area, on the edge of Bowness.

Lovely stay

This was our second visit and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. Susann and Glenn are wonderful hosts, always happy to have a chat and wanting to know that we had everything we needed. The room was very comfortable and warm and spotlessly clean, the bed was also comfortable and gave a good nights sleep, even away from home! Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit and homemade yoghurt available as well as cereals and fruit juice, plus a hot course of full English/vegetarian options or porridge (which I particularly enjoyed). The set up there is one of peace and quiet and relaxation, with lost of opportunity to sit in the garden, walk into town, or do a bit of hill walking. A great location and a wonderful bed and breakfast!

Wonderful stay at Storrs Gate House and a warm welcome from Susann and Glenn. Lovely room and a very filling breakfast set us up for the day. Great base to explore Bowness-on-Windermere, as its short walk to the centre.

Great homely stay

Storrs Gate House was a great place to stay. Bed was very comfy. Facilities great. Breakfast was lovely. Hosts were very attentive during our stay. Definitely going back. Location was well within walking distance to Bowness Centre.
