My mum and I have just got home from a 2 night stay in the Shepherds Hut. We had such a wonderful time, it was lovely to have some 121 time with mum where we could just relax and chat without lives distractions. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but it didn’t stop us from exploring the farm, the local pubs and the farm shops nearby. It was extremely cosy and clean inside the Shepherds hut with the wood burner keeping us warm in the evening. We had everything we needed and it was a lovely well kept farm / family home. We will be back 😃

Lovely Calm & Relaxing

This is going to be a thorough review for those that are looking for information.  But overall we had an amazing time and would highly recommend! 

We visited Wynards farm this weekend as a family of 5. 2 adults, 2 children (8&5) plus 1 infant (6 months). We stayed in the Jurassic Bus that still has so much of its own original character. We got really lucky with the weather making our stay even better! 

I thought it may be quite cramped being such a big family but it states it sleeps 6 so we went for it. I was quite surprised just how spacious it actually was! Located on the bottom floor is the original drivers seat which is accessible to sit in with lots of buttons (they obviously don’t work), but the kids loved pretending to drive the bus  to different locations. Once entering through wooden (lockable) door is the kitchen, living area and access to the first room containing a double bed (we didn’t use or need this). 

The kitchen has a smallish fridge, with a small freezer inside, hobs to cook along with pans, plates, cutlery etc. It also includes a George Forman grill, toaster and microwave so is very much self catering. 

The living area contains a sofa along with two recycled bus seats, wood burning fire (you need to request wood from the owners for this), a tv with basic Chanel’s along with a pull out table if needed. 

The double bed room is quite small in itself, but also looked cosy! 

Upstairs you’ll find another seating area with great views of the field and further afar as well as the animals, and can definitely seat up to 6 people. Towards the back of the bus is the bathroom that has a shower, toilet and small sink .. the bathroom is small but workable. It’s clean and fresh. 

There’s a room containing bunk beds for children that our two loved and had a great nights sleep in. 

The biggest bedroom has a king size bed and even had enough room for our travel cot too. Bed was VERY comfortable with thick quilts provided! Waking up in the morning and opening the blind to the perfect view was beautiful. 

The bus was clean throughout and oil heaters were also provided as at can get quite chilly at night so pack those extra layers if you really feel the cold like myself. The hosts were absolutely lovely and made us very welcome. Now I will say if your looking for ‘entertainment’ as such then stick to haven as this gorgeous little place is what it says on the tin .. glamping. You need to make your own entertainment. It started off after 10 minutes, our 8 year old boy complaining he was bored (missing his Xbox) .. to having the most amazing time and both kids asking the hosts if we can move into the bus permanently! They can’t wait to stay again! Thankyou so so much for having us. 

They also have B&B rooms, A shepherds hut and a Yurt also available as well as the bus. A little tip, always message/call privately .. some of the booking sites charge both the host and yourself meaning the prices going straight to them may work out that little bit cheaper!

Idyllic Stay in the Jurassic Bus.

Clean bright room but VERY cramped, bathroom down steep staircase. Tiny flow of hot water. No bedside lights, impossible to read in bed. Shame they didn’t offer a cooked B&B breakfast, just granola in a jar with milk & yoghurt in the fridge.  Crockery not changed or washed, nowhere to wash it ourselves - except downstairs in the bathroom basin. In 8 years this is perhaps the most disappointing B&B that we have stayed in.

Poor value, very disappointing.

My 10 year old son and I stayed in the small but perfectly formed Shepherd's Hut for a couple of nights. Staying in a Shepherd's Hut has been on my bucket list for some time - and this little gem didn't disappoint. There's a cosy and comfortable double bed (note: if you're 6ft, this bed will be too short for you), electric lights, a mini fridge, cooker hobs, and a wood burner. I was amazed to find that the hut was stocked with everything you need for a short stay: glasses, cutlery, crockery - and even a hairdryer! 

The Shepherd's Hut is such a pretty and quirky style of accommodation - and I'd challenge anyone not to fall in love with it! It's wonderful to wake up in the field, with stunning views.

Heavenly!

A beautiful rural setting just on the edge of a quiet quintessentially English village. A great location to explore Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, Portland and dorchester. The owners gave helpful tips on where best to get a coffee, ice cream and dinner, but left me to enjoy my weekend. The bed was warm and comfortable and we got to see some great stars at night due to zero light pollution. We have already booked to come down again next year!

Perfect location to explore the Dorset coast

The best B & B we stayed at . Lovely place , charming, quiet, clean. Surrender by Lama and horses , what's not to like ! Very comfy bed , lovely clean bathroom.Great price too .Owners are lovely and very helpful .

Amazing

Lovely B&B in a stunning location. Nice apartment above a garage with stunning views and all you could need for a short break. A delicious breakfast hamper is provided and the home made cake is to die for. So much to see in the local area and an amazing pub the sailors return is a 30min stroll. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely B&B in a beautiful location

We had a wonderful stay. Clean, tidy, minimum fuss, hot clean shower and the room felt private and airy. The hosts suggested a lovely walk over the fields to Durdle Door and on to Lulworth cove. A beautiful part of the country. Feels like you are out in the country, will definitely come back, maybe stay in the cosy looking shepherds hut and sit round the outdoor fire.

A lovely weekend break, perfect for our group of ‘couple’ friends to each have private accommodation.

Last minute night away  and I booked info Wynards Farm and have found  an absolute gem of a place. 
Hidden away up on a hill in Winfrith (literally ten minutes from Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove),  this fabulous B & B ticked all the boxes. The owners were super helpful and friendly, with great local knowledge. Our room was in its own annexe with an en-suite and was beautifully decorated and very clean. Wonderfully comfortable bed, linen and a superb nights sleep. Loved the sunset viewing.  platform and seeing the golden orb dip down across the massive vista. We got to see the stars too as the sky is so clear at night. Haven’t felt this rested in long time! Yummy breakfast served on the terrace with eggs from their chickens (love that!) and then enough time to explore some of the glorious views from this incredible spot. Oh and did I mentioned the alpaca and pony!! 

As well as rooms, they also have a yurt and converted bus to sleep in which also looks beautifully done. 

Thank you for a great stay. I can’t wait to go back!

A gem of a place


A beautiful setting to just unwind and reset. Accommodation is basic but comfortable with the necessary mod cons.
Shower facility very good and an added bonus was to be able to sit in front of the firepit star gazing.

Some beautiful local walks on the doorstep. 5 Marys on a summers evening was lovely. Beautiful meadows alive with butterflies.
