Not local so not sure of Witney for places to eat? But happened to  stumble across the Fleece.  What a lovely welcoming place! Food excellent and service was  attentive.  Lovely views of the church from my table which also a bonus. When I’m in the area again in the next few weeks I will definitely return.

Witney gem

We booked for 1 night away and were so impressed with this lovely pub. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff friendly and welcoming and even gave us breakfast for free as we were woken in the night by another guest. All in all a great stay and we will be back 

Highly recommended this lovely little place 

It was our Christmas meal on Jan 6th I have never been anywhere where the meal and service get full marks, everyone from barman to waitresses to chefs and anyone else I missed behind the scenes did a fantastic job, I can't thank them enough for an absolutely wonderful evening, Thanks so much 'The Fleece' Team. If I am still employed next year and I take lead on organising another Christmas meal I will come again, I have also suggested to family lets do Birthdays etc at The Fleece. As I am fairly local. 

The Best I have had in a long time...and that is saying something...Thank you 'Fleece Team'....

Evenning Dinner

We were looking for somewhere to stay near to Blenheim Palace  and found The Fleece online. Our previous experience of Gastro pubs was not that good with tired furnishings, and dirty bathrooms. The reviews of this place were good and the location was perfect so we booked a 2 night stay in a king bedded room with breakfast and ate in the restaurant on both evenings. 
We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean, a good size with a view overlooking the green. The large wall mounted TV was great and the en-suite bathroom was again spotlessly clean and the quality of the toiletries good. The super king size bed was really comfortable and the bedding crisp and clean. The restaurant had a warm cosy atmosphere and the quality of the food both at breakfast and dinner was very good. The service was a bit slow but to be fair staffing in hospitality post covid has not been easy. The staff apologised for the delays and you could see they were working very hard. We were not in any particular hurry so It did not adversely affect the enjoyment of our meals. 
All the staff were very cheerful and went out of their way to make our visit very enjoyable. With Blenheim Palace really close by and having the wow factor, our choice of The Fleece turned out to be a great one, and we will certainly return with friends next time we come to the cotswolds.

Very pleasantly surprised how good this place is

I have been using this establishment for over a year now, not only for drinking, but also eating. I have to say that in my humble opinion, the staff and the level of service is second to none. It’s like doing a full days work, watching how hard they try to make every customer feel special.
Please, just try out.

I held my 70th birthday in a private room at the Fleece. We had booked another restaurant but they had closed down .At very short notice Evelin the manager took charge and everything went very smoothly. Ty, our waiter was just perfect and provided seamless service. The food was excellent.
It was so good we all booked in for breakfast the following morning, which was also excellent.

A perfect birthday party

We had a fantastic Christmas Eve dinner for a very large Family. The planning was seamless, the service exceptional, and the food and drink wonderful. 

Thank you so very much for making it a truly lovely evening!

Fantastic Christmas Eve Dinner

I cannot thank you enough, 20 of us came for a Christmas Eve family meal and it was amazing. From booking to the last dish, everything was perfect  - even down to the steak preferences and the individual allergies. I really appreciate the effort you went to, serving us and cooking the food. You made a very special Christmas Eve meal the best it could be. Thank you, we will be back and recommending you to everyone!

Wow! Amazing

We had a lovely lunch at The Fleece yesterday.  It seemed an ideal place to introduce our 9 week old grandson to his great, great aunt.  The young staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating.  The food was good also. My beef and ale pie had lovely pastry and was jam packed with tasty meat. And I couldn't resist nicking a bit of my daughter's super chocolaty chocolate cheesecake!
