Stayed in the hotel for a visit to nearby family. The room was really nice, quiet at night, newly refurbished, very clean and comfortable. Key cards weren't working that day so staff had to let you in but it wasn't a problem. Didn't use the bar / restaurant - which was busy and the bar staff looked a bit stretched - but would recommend the hotel rooms.

Terrible food, the only element of my gammon and chips not cremated was the pineapple. The sausages on my alt meal (after sending gammon back) must have been left over from breakfast. I gave up on the dessert I'd ordered as part of their evening deal.

Attending recently taking our team of 25 colleagues out for lunch. Had the festive menu. Starters and Deserts were excellent. Mains in the majority were very good (Excluding the steak dish). Overall the group loved the venue and how we were treated.

Great Service

I stopped here a couple of months ago and forgot to review it. I stopped again yesterday on business, rooms are great, stylish, clean and very comfortable. The food is legendary, fantastic breakfast (minus the beans in ramekin) but especially the French beef dripping dippy burger (my word!) and the staff are amazing, they go above and beyond to make sure that you have the best experience! Thanks to all and definitely will be back again! Vinni xxx

Do not go here! 
We went here for a three person celebration and was the most disappointed. From working in hospitality and catering myself I completely understand stuff isn’t always 100% and you run out but when you run out of basically everything on the menu on a Sunday at not even 1pm it’s ridiculous. 

From running out of every post mix on tap and most food items we contemplated leaving. We chose to stay as we had heard good reviews. We all had starters which after arriving at 1pm and ordering at 1:20 we did not receive our starters until 2:45. Over an hours wait for a soup and garlic bread ! Ridiculous. After finishing starters we did not receive our mains for another 45 minutes; we had to ask at that point where they were as this was becoming ridiculous. Not to mention there was maybe 3 other tables who had already received their food. 

Also to mention the lady who served me at the bar when I was asking for drinks stated there was no lemonade at all even no bottles of spite or something a lady sat on the table behind 30 minutes after me trying to order lemonade some how managed to receive a lime and lemonade….. the lady at the bar who served me was also incredibly rude , I have autism therefore loud noises and people can be difficult for me. We happened to be sat next to a group of loud rugby players so I had politely asked if we could move to another table as this was causing me distress and she said and I quote “ how is this my problem that they are loud I don’t have control over them it’s not like they are being offensive.” All I had asked is if I could move tables due to the noise (like mentioned earlier there was three other tables so not busy at all). We ended up moving without her help. 

Overall , we waited nearly 2 hours to eat 2 courses in an empty restaurant just for the food to be cold and disappointing. (The roast some of us had the vegetables were raw and the meat and gravy was cold.)

The manager did compensate us 10% of the bill however I personally do not think this is good enough as they never once communicated or apologised. Therefore we shall not be returning.

The recent refurb opening up the main bar/restaurant area looks great and massively enhanced by an open fire that unlike many is blazing on a Sunday afternoon

Wow, this refurbishment is absolutely stunning, the place looks brand new, the decoration is stunning and the new facilities are amazing, food has always been fantastic here, well done to all Becks team, looking forward to return stays.

Went there today and the food was really good and the staff were just as good. My waitress Tasha was amazing, she couldn't do enough for my family making sure we were all ok and we had everything we needed, I will be coming again for sure

Great place, top service from Caroline, really enjoyed it. Maybe though some freebies for the football team who come in every Saturday, would be greatly appreciated after a tough battle on the Wheatsheaf. 

Great visit

Excellent food and lovely, helpful staff.  Will definitely be back.  Good for families and prices are also good.  Nice refurbishment.  Feels modern and clean but welcoming too.  Nice to see treacle sponge pudding on the dessert menu.  My favourite.
