A last minute decision to stay after a family wedding meant I didn't have any specific expectations about our stay here, but I'd read some good reviews.
I do have mainly good things to say about the hotel. It has some lovely spaces inside and the Terrace at the front is such a bonus.
Standards were generally high, our room comfortable, clean of course and the ensuite a good size.  Communication was good, as we were arriving after midnight, and the night manager checked us in no problem.
We had a slight hiccup at breakfast as our order didn't get to the kitchen and none of the staff noticed so we did have a bit of a wait, but I enjoyed my food. And I would have liked stronger coffee. I recommend staying here - for comfort, just maybe give the younger staff some support and keep on top of what's going on in the dining areas.

Comfortable stay in stylish setting

It's been a few years since I stayed at the Burlington Hotel, and I'm glad I came back. 

The hotel has changed a lot over the years, with refurbished rooms and a lift installed. The staff are really friendly and check in and check out was quick. 

My room was quite big and had everything I needed. It was a little strange having a sandblasted (blurry) glass window where I couldn't see out. I also couldn't lock my bathroom window with the handle which wasn't ideal. 

The restaurant menu is a bit pricey and there weren't many options. The breakfast however was excellent. You can grab continental breakfast or order something hot from the menu. The Eggs Florentine were delicious! 

With a few minor improvements, I think the Burlington Hotel could be one of the best hotels on the seafront.

Pleasant stay, excellent breakfast

My husband and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Burlington and the staff could not have been more helpful and kind. The hotel holds a special place in our hearts as we met there and held our wedding reception there too. We were warmly greeted at reception and our room had been beautifully prepared and included a delightful anniversary card too. Thank you to everyone for making our anniversary so special.

A most pleasant stay in this charming hotel.

The rooms are clean and a good size with a tasteful decor.

The team are friendly and most helpful. Indeed the night porter and receptionist are given mention for their friendliness.

Only one niggle was breakfast service (which was discussed prior to my departure) that has prevented me awarding a 5/5 score.

Extremely good hotel

I gave a rating of 4/5 because I was soo cold on my expensive room, so much so I wore the bathrobe in bed, was irritated by this as this particular room for 1 night was very very expensive. Bathroom was worse - freezing!!! Lovely lady on reception. Location of hotel is perfect, as hotel overlooks the seafront and shops are a 10 minute walk away.

The Burlington hotel, Worthing West Sussex

The location of the Burlington Hotel is brilliant, we could see the sea from our bedroom window.  In terms of facilities the shops are quite distant from the hotel, but if you love walking it is fine. There is also a bus service going towards the centre of the town but we did not use it.  The room was very clean, however there wasn't any toilet brush so we had to use much more flushing water to clean the toilet (not very ecological) Last morning of our staying  I had a COLD shower, later when asked at reception I was told that on the 2nd floor the water pressure has dropped so they were fixing it, I was expecting a call to tell us not to take a shower until the problem was fixed, but it did not happen. The breakfast was very nice and a good variety. The standard of the service was not always the same, as the last morning, we did sit for our breakfast at one table which was not clean, and if I did not ask the person serving the breakfast to clean it, she did not even notice. Considering that the hotel is a 4 stars I was expecting a much higher and consistent standard of service. It was a good experience but we had few disappointments which we did not expect. 

Good stay but some unexpected disappointments 

We stayed two nights at the hotel with a group. We had excellent service from the friendly staff and they accommodated us in a private room for dinner. It was a very hot evening, however they made a lot of effort to cool the room we were dining in. The food was lovely, the wine list was a little limited for ‘fine’ wines. The hotel bedrooms and bathrooms have been recently decorated and are very comfortable. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which in my opinion needs a little more thought to layout. TV over a dressing table, which would have been better placed elsewhere. A small bedside table was needed along with a lamp one side of the bed, as only one side had one. We sadly couldn’t go on the balcony due to a danger element. Think it was due to the much needed refurb on the facade of the hotel and installation of railings to allow balcony use. There are generally a lot of health and safety messages around the hotel, which are a little over zealous. The hotel enjoys a direct view to the sea and is well placed within the town which is charming. There is a very lovely dining and bar area at the front of the hotel enjoying sea views. There is no private parking, and therefore one has to rely on roadside parking, where be warned the traffic wardens are on hot patrol!

We went to the Burlington hotel for an evening meal was visiting the area. Sadly we were very disappointed. A private function took priority over other diners and we waited 40 minutes for a food. We could have forgiven this had the food been worth waiting for. Unfortunately we all ordered chicken which was very dry . Two  of us ordered dauphinois potatoes as a sude dish which came with a thick oil at the bottom of the serving dish.  
Needless to say we will not be returning to the Burlington. 

Avoid if possible  

Stayed here for our wedding. The room was absolutely spectacular! Had our meal after the wedding ceremony here. Michelle and her team could not have done any more to make the day so amazing. The food and service was fantastic. Would highly recommend this place. Perfect location with amazing scenery. 

Amazing

We were staying here for my best friends wedding weekend. It was a gorgeous hotel, I love staying somewhere independent. Good room size, huge bed which was incredibly comfortable and the shower was excellent. Staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. The only down sides were the breakfast which could do with some work - everything was quite dry and we ate with lots of other wedding party guests who all had different things and felt similarly - and the cost. It was an expensive place to stay and I would have expected a few more amenities when paying that much.
