Will always be Sterns... and I guess a lot of party goers would recommend this as a perfect place for trip advisor... 
10pm the underground would open...the lazer show would start 
.and the visuals on the old TVs would start swirling... the steps would sway around and we all had a great time. Call it what you like... it'll always be Sterns

Discovered by accident and what a great discovery it turned out to be.
Great staff, very good rooms and amazing food….
Dinner was superb and great value for money.
We will become regular visitors for dining out and overnight stays when we are un-inclined to travel too far from home.

I'll keep this brief. Cannot fault the superb quality of the sunday roast I recently enjoyed here. The service was excellent too and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Will definitely be going there from now on.

Best Pub Sunday Roast I've Ever Had

We stayed on 7th September for one night for my birthday. We were blown over by the quality of the rooms the restaurant was amazing best pub type food we have had in years and so much choice. Well done to the Chef. All the staff were so friendly nothing too much trouble we will definitely be back and stay longer. We were left a lovely bottle of bubbly in our room and a Happy Birthday message which was very unexpected. We would like to say a big thank you to the Manager Maria and Owen in the restaurant too sorry didn't find out any other names of staff. 

A Great find we will be back

Lovely hotel with nice rooms. Everything is done to a high standard and very clean. Beds were comfy. The rooms were quite hot, and although a fan was in the room this wasn’t sufficient at cooling it down. Please look at air con. Generally great food at the hotel. Lovely cooked breakfasts including fresh fruit, nice yogurts and decent pastries, although they do need to learn how to poach an egg. Also, almost every meal there was a wait for at least one of our group to get their meal. We were a group of four so not too complicated. Would stay again and hope that some tweaks can be made based on feedback. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely country stay

My partner an me attended the Highdown's themed (Gatsby era) New Year Eve dinner and party on 31 December 2022 and had a fantastic time. The party was extremely well organised with meticulous attention to detail. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent and the entertainment (band, roulette and black jack tables) were great fun too. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and well provided. The hotel was really well decorated for the event and a lot of thought, resource, and effort had obviously gone into the whole event. A special thanks goes to Phoebe who had organised the whole thing, but many thanks are due to all of the staff who worked really hard to provide an unforgettable NYE experience.

Visiting family, from Australia

Short notice dinner request for seven, yet lovely staff offered us a family table in a wood-panelled room in front of a log fire!! Wow . .

Just a prefect setting. Very English and simply perfect for visiting Aussies - and us too, of course

Crackers on the table and a wide choice of dishes on offer
Great looking burger but several chose the pan-fried Halibut fillet, with me - see photo, which was simply delicious and beautifully presented

If we had planned a perfect venue  to celebrate Christmas early with family, we could not have found a better location, or food and service

Great family afternoon tea

We stayed at the Highdown for one night at the end of October. On arrived there was an issue with our reservation and we were given a free drink whilst they sorted it out. A few minutes later we were sorted and after finishing our drinks went the the room which is in a separate block from the hotel meaning noise should not, and wasn't a problem. The room was excellent with a great comfortable bed and a superb bathroom. The toiletries were of high standard and the shower flow was fine. It was a shame we couldn't try the food but had already planned to eat elsewhere with some friends. Overall recommended and we will stay again where we return to the area.

Lovely hotel in a peaceful location near to Worthing

Lovely welcoming lady behind the bar on our visit. Very pleasant and engaging .
They don’t have much on the menu for vegans, that said she apologised for the lack of vegan food. I just had chips. But I enjoyed the whole ambiance of the place and the happy staff. 
Would be nice to see more choice for us but great place for a drink and walk around the grounds.
