An incredible visit, , & not for the first time!
Amazing ambiance, fantastic service  & All credit to the  chef & behnd house services.
My family planned an Amazing surprise birthday surprise family meal here.
The ambiance is Amazing , service & professionalism 10/10.

Is a a long-standing chef in the Navy, was SO impressed, so much so they wish to return in March ( wedding anniversary) to sample the menu yet again!
We had an unforgettable time & can Seriously recommend. 
So sorry to hear this Irreplaceable place is up for sale & can only hope the new owners keep the outstanding staff in house.

Out of this world!

Just had the most fantastic evening with incredible food and attentive staff. The chef is a culinary magician whilst the waitress was both enchanting and informative. My wife and I had the best meal we have had all year whilst maintaining social distance in a safe and comfortable environment. Thank you so much for making this evening a memorable experience.

Fantastic experience

Have now eaten here 3 times. First was a tasting menu that was out of this world. Should have booked rooms!

Second was a meal with another couple, that like us enjoy fine food. Have still to be outdone on this meal locally.

So for our company meal we had 15 people for a set Christmas menu. This was quite boozy but everyone enjoyed the quality and quantity of food and warm atmosphere. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and we put them under some pressure! 

There is a very cosy lounge bar to retire to after the meal.

We booked all 3 rooms for out of towners and were very pleased with the standard. Toddling upstairs after dinner was very convenient!

Breakfast was lovely.

Lovely venue with excellent food and good rooms

We have just completed one of the most enjoyable Sunday Roast I’ve had the pleasure of devouring! 

We had both chosen the Parsnip soup with cider apple crisps ( unbelievable additional flavour ). 
We also both ordered the traditional Sunday Roast , which was a selection  of three different meal served on a wooden platter, accompanied by traditional roast spuds, parsnips carrots 
Addition bowl of cauliflower & broccoli 

Simply fantastic Yum Yum.

We had booked the previous day explaining that was recovering from a recent double organ transplant and that we had to very careful not to have any meal “Rare” , they were so accommodating . We can’t wait to return 

Fantastic Sunday Roast is alive and kicking 

4 of us stopped here for sunday lunch and I really doubt it will be beaten. The way it is served is great on the platter so you can help yourself and the accompaniments were just as great. Serious pride in what they're putting out and it shows. You should be very proud of this place. Well deserving of the awards. 

Best sunday lunch - ever

Fabulous food, Excellent servce,Relaxed atmosphere with Wonderful views.
A little expensive compared with other local hosteleries, but all six of us considered that the standard of the food made it worth every penny.
All six of us (inclding the one who had the vegetarian option) rated the meal in the top3 meals we have ever tasted

Taster menu for 6 people all scored it 10 out of 10

Visiting from Australia, we were taken to this wonderful restaurant. 

Location? Tick. Food? Tick. Wine? Tick. Staff? Double tick!!

We have been travelling the length and breadth of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales for the last 4 weeks! We have eaten out every night.

This place was the pinnacle! The food was amazing. The wine, beautiful, and the staff were bloody brilliant.

Wow! Just, wow!

well over priced for the roast dinner as it was all under cooked. also cold and raw. i will not be going back to this place. i came with my family as i have been here before and it was good. but there must be a new chef. £18 for a roast. what a joke.

Came here with friends who live locally and are regulars, place has a lovely fresh feeling well decorated and a beautiful terrace overlooking the gorgeous English countryside.
All of us ordered the Sunday roast, wow, it arrived on a platter, perfect pork with crackling, medium rare roast beef, chicken. Plus huge perfect Yorkshire puddings, crispy amazing roast potatoes, carrots,parsnips, plus cauliflower and broccoli gratin. Then greens, cabbage, peas and courgettes.
Gravy plus horseradish and apple sauce.
The meat was perfectly cooked , the veg fresh and crisp, and did i mention the roast spuds. 
Not a skerrick was left and everybody was so happy with everything.
Couple had a Gin cocktail plus a great choice of beers wines and ciders. Something for everybody.
Dessert, again beautifully presented and tasty.
All in all fantastic food and good service, spoke to the owner Brett Sutton love the way he includes local produce in his menus. This place deserves the accolades it has received.


Sunday Lunch Perfection

We called in with friends expecting a nice "pub meal" for dinner and goodness - I was knocked over reading the menu with an offer of a 10 course tasting menu for only £55 , really? so it was all over for me, we're eating quality tonight! - they even had their own gin on offer! 
The menu itself had a great selection of items to tempt, but 10 courses just had to be tackled! 
I've ate too many tasting menus over the years in all the nations most renown restaurants and spent a fortune enjoying them, now somewhat bored with them all, I've given in chasing the latest must eat venue, so this evening was a real treat and as good a menu selection as any I've previously enjoyed, and still for only £55! 
The restaurant was comfy, informal and relaxed, stunning views, the staff were great and effective, nothing was too much trouble for them, the barman was great character too! 
Dinner, superlative, some amazing touches, notable exceptions were the "Jersey tomatoes with goats cheese curd" was brilliant, the "Strawberry plate" great fun and by then we had had enough! There was still a fabulous cheese plate (course 9,) to follow! And to be honest, it was all fabulous,
So overall - a great surprise, seriously great cooking, the best value for money ever, go,enjoy, you won't be dissapointed.
