This guest house wasn't the best experience for us  room was OK apart from t.v didn't work the day we were leaving.  The breakfast was not that good mushrooms were cold the bacon was not really edible . We were in a room  with access from outside to the breakfast it was raining very heavily ( not their fault )  but to provide a brolly  might have been a good idea.

Not quite up to standard.

We arrived at the property on December 29th as you can imagine it was very cold outside. When we got into our room we wished we were back outside as it was freezing. The radiator came on around 5pm but only like warm with the instruction in the welcome book that we can adjust the heating with the TRV on the radiator lol. I'm a heating engineer and I'm fully aware that the TRV only opens and closes dependent on the room temperature and does not adjust the temp of the water running through it which was set on a low temperature at the boiler. We woke in the morning freezing and did not use the shower because it was that cold. We went for breakfast and equally cold throughout the building. We will not be going back I'm afraid.

Very cold through out the building

Pre Christmas break with family. Such lovely attentive staff. Nothing too much trouble. We stayed in the mews not in the main house. Everything you need. Coffee and tea and a small complimentary bottle of prosecco provided which was nice. Cannot fault breakfast. It was lovely, fresh and hot and the breakfast staff were very friendly. Will definitely return 

Christmas shopping break with family 

We were in the mews. Very quiet which was great. Nice size room and large shower. Bedding was good quality and comfy bed. Towels white and fluffy. Very good breakfast. Staff are all very friendly and happy. General areas are quite tired and need updating but would be costly. Great location to centre. Will come and stay again.

Good value and location

First impressions of this B&B was a tired and shabby frontage.  The frontage and paint work in public areas needs some attention. Our room was at the back of the building in refurbished building. The room was clean and furnished in a contemporary style although there was too much furniture for the size of the room.  Okay for one/two nights but with one small wardrobe and no drawer space there was not enough room to hang clothes for two people it was cramped.  Maid service was hit and miss.  Details state there was a residents bar but this was poorly stocked with very few soft drinks (no sparkling water or lemonade)  and not many alcoholic beverages.   The greatest asset of this B&B is its situation,  the Minster, Shambles, Railway Station and Museum are all an easy walk from  there. Another plus is that there is also limited parking.

Simply a B&B nothing more

Absolutely lovely stay in this hotel. Room was clean and well stocked. Two minute walk to city walls and York Minster. Staff were so friendly and helpful and breakfast was freshly cooked. So much nicer than a big chain hotel. Would definitely recommend

Great hotel for an overnight stay. Good room size and plenty of space. Easy to park just round the corner and 2 minute walk into town centre.
Lovely touch of bottles of water and biscuits in room on arrival. Host was lovely too, would definitely recommend 

Lovely little hotel

I stay here frequently and also put my parents here too whenever they come to visit from Malta, the rooms are fabulous! Small bottles of Prosecco on arrival, spacious & extremely clean! The location is perfect walking distance to both town and the train station with Allen on reception being consistently helpful, kind & happy. There’s parking & easy breakfast available (which my mum particularly loves) - if you’re blessed you might meet the owner Graham who is incredibly lovely, bubbly and has a cracking Yorkshire man sense of humour. I couldn’t recommend this gorgeous little b&b hotel any more, you definitely won’t regret staying at the Georgian House!

Absolute excellence every single time

Lovely 2 night stay package with prosecco and cream tea. Comfortable and clean room. I was surprised to see so many guests at breakfast as I hadnt heard anyone else. Lovely breakfast. Friendly, helpful and informative staff. Location is perfect. The room would have benefitted from a extractor fan in the bathroom and a dressing table although it was quite small so not sure this would have been possible. Either way this did not affect our stay and would highly recommend to others. I would not hesitate to stay again if I return to york.

Lovely 😍 

Visited this hotel with a few friends on New Year’s Eve.
Was made to feel welcome from the start upon check in !
After an above average shower we went out and hit the tiles, copious amount of drinks and shots later we came back to hit the hay.
Upon check out we was charged £30 which was pretty reasonable to say we brought a bird back, had a late check out and smashed a window !
Even got a smile and a see you again soon as we left ! 
Top hotel ! And down with the kids 👌🏻
