This was our third stay here and absolutely not the last! We stayed this time for our 'minimoon' and we couldn't have chosen somewhere more perfect.
The rooms are stunning, and the vintage aesthetic is just so beautiful. Perfectly clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We slept soundly, and absolutely loved our stay.
But the cherry on the top is absolutely Trudie. What an outstanding host! So so kind, funny and charming. I've genuinely never met a woman with such warmth and kindness in her soul. She even took the time to teach me how to knit on a gorgeously magical afternoon.
If you need a break to the coast, you must stay here! Staithes is a beautiful bolt-hole (though avoid the over hyped Cod & Lobster and get the bus into Whitby for food - buses run every half hour until late).

Perfection!!!

Previous reviews have stolen the words I intended to use. Excellent in every way and Trudy the perfect host. If you want a night in, there is a fully fitted modern kitchen which is fully equipped to enjoy your food. Many returning guests and this is not surprising. Not suitable for people with mobility issued or children due to steps and stairs. Otherwise, just book-you will not be disappointed 

Staithes little gem

From arriving at Dotty’s we were made to feel very welcome. Very friendly staff in the tearoom and Trudie, the host is brilliant. We were taken by Trudie to our accommodation, which is up a number of steps behind the tearoom. Accommodation is very comfortable, very well furnished and spotlessly clean. Kitchen has everything and more than you need. Breakfast was perfect, again with very friendly staff. Highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful village, lovely accommodation and fantastic host!

I can not recommend this little B&B and tearoom enough. Trudie can not do enough to help everyone, it really is a hidden gem 😍
It is right in the heart of the village and everything is close by. There are a few steps up to the rooms so bare it in mind if you struggle with walking but we just found it added to the charm x

Hidden treasure 😍

This place is amazing. The host is super special and can't do enough for you. On arrival trudie treated us to a up of coffee in the tearoom before showing us to our room.
The lounge is spacious 2 super huge sofas and large dining table, beautifully decorated and attention to detail with furnishings shines through, great taste!.Stunning kitchen and toilet (These are shared with other guests.) The bedroom was so tasteful and comfortable with a rooftop Seaview. Bathroom well equipped with a shower.
Our whole stay here was special, spotlessly clean and treats in the fridge. Breakfast was beautiful both mornings with lovely staff.

Anniversary trip

Stayed one night room was clean and comfortable breakfast was superb everything you need and perfectly cooked. Trudie is a trojan never stops and very pleasing and pleasant host. Not very happy with the parking it's a nightmare. Parking is at the council car park at the top of the hill we managed to park on the road just around the corner from Dotty's but you will need to be away for nine forty Am.

Just the job

Excellent service from Trudy from start to finish, lovely bedroom and shared lounge.
Breakfast was excellent also a fridge with and snacks.
Great location near pubs, shops and the harbour.
Great customer service and value for money.

Great place to stay

Gorgeous room. Spotlessly clean. Really comfortable bed. Trudie was the most excellent host, so kind and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was superb. A real treat I could highly recommend. Thank you Trudie x

Delightful

Trudie helped us to find our way around the town with great advice where to walk and eat. Trudie looked after us extremely well with super updated accommodation which was relaxing especially the sitting room to chill out as well as the cosy bedrooms with  great views of Staithes. The   tasty and big breakfasts filled us up for the day and  the teashop below with  scrumptious  cakes was a great treat. We are looking forward to coming back soon.

We have some lovely friends who find lovely B&Bs try them out then recommend them, so long as they are lovely. And so, it came to pass that following their visit and full and graphical description of their lovely stay we agreed to visit Dotty’s B&B for our friends birthday treat.
Although we had that now, all to familiar worry, will it be Covid safe, we were assured it would be and set off for a grand night out. We were travelling from the Yorkshire Dales, our friends from the North West. When we arrived it was absolutely chucking it down, and we discovered you have to park out of the village (Staithes) then walk down to Dotty’s with our cases. 
So, we togged up and proceeded from the ‘top car park (well named) to the village 1/2 mile below. Our meeting point was Dotty’s cafe for hot drinks and welcome bacon butties. We sat outside in isolated safety and was served our drinks and snacks by a lovely lady. Our friends arrived and explained that this was our B&B as well as our coffee stop.
We left our bags with our hostess who was already going out of her way to be ‘ helpful and endearing’ person of the year.
We did a great 8.5 mile walk, along the costal path to Runswick bay, and back through the almost deserted woods running parallel to the now ‘disappeared’ railway. Luckily as we left the tea room the rain stopped and we never saw it again. 
We then entered our accommodation via back outside stairs to find ourselves in a ground floor huge lounge. This was the lounge dining room, newly decorated with 2 huge leather sofas. Certainly enough space to be distant if required from the only other couple staying, if you don’t know them, that is.
Bizarrely when you looked out of the front windows you were on the third floor not the ground floor. That’s what happens when you build a house in a cliff!
Now, it was Dotty Trudy’s time to shine as B&B hostess extraordinaire. We ordered....well, almost anything we wanted for breakfast, cooked to our liking and served at a time to suit. Nothing was too much trouble😀
We dined that nigh at the Cod and Lobster, just round the corner, then back to bed for a very comfortable well earned sleep.
The 2 bedrooms are accessed by individual stairs from the lounge, so again, totally CV secure. Trudy would even stagger breakfast if required to avoid guests who were not friends from meeting up.
Breakfast was double bubble of everything plus cereal and masses of fruit so top marks here.
Next day more costal path walking north of Staines and in the afternoon the sun came out and it was perfect.
So, to sum up, Staithes is a perfect North East Sea side village. Do spend time to explore, find the bridge and stepping stones and many ally’s.
Dotty’s B&B is truly a splendid place and we thoroughly recommend it.
If you struggle with hills and bags, you can drive down and drop off but you will still need to park at the top. Forget cards and cash with the parking machine, just phone the number, it’s easy.
You will need to mind your heads, especially if you are on the window side of the bed.
Dotty, switches on the lamps would be good (switched lamp holders from B&Q). Beds a little soft but after running up and down the hills followed by hearty nosh, sleep was not a problem.
