Dianna’s B&B is outstanding.  She is an amazing hostess, raconteur and cook.  The breakfast she made us for all three days was excellent.  She also gives excellent recommendations about places to visit in the area.  If you choose this B&B you will not be disappointed.

Lovely attic suite that reminded me of the sisters’ s play space in Little Women.

Amazing house, over decorated to the extreme for a result that will make you feel in another time/space zone ! Owner is very very nice and will tell you all the good restaurants around and what to do in the area. I will try to come back just for the hotel....

Time and space travel

Never received email confirmation for my reservations but owner called me four different occasions just to make sure that I was coming and even called while I am traveling to verify my arrival time because she had a party to attend which was more important than her guest
.Get there and another guest is knocking on the front door for a while. She shows us our room with a messy bed and admits her help slept in it not offering to correct it in hot spot COVID Louisiana and the entire house has way too much junk in it which made me feel panic. Unfortunately I gave the key back to her help and did not stay there. Her website doesn’t give any info on cancellation policy nor did I get it on paper because she did everything verbally.  I lost my money on this rotten deal and do not recommend staying at this dump which looked nothing like her photos posted on her website.  I will never stay at a Bed and Breakfast ever again because of this bad experience. It’s much easier to just stay at a simple clean hotel.

Distasteful

The owner/hostess forgot about our arrival date, thus we were not greeted and obviously the house was not ready for guests. When I called her she was rather curt wanting to know who I was and what did I want. After I identified myself she was apologetic that she had forgotten our reservation. We were told where the key to the house was located so we could enter. Once inside it was obvious that the house had not be made ready for guests. There was excessive clutter, and the smell of cigarette smoke and dirty cat boxes. I could not tolerate either, thus we decided to find other accommodations. Personally, I do not recommend this location.

Forgot We Were Coming -

Our experience was super excellent, the lady owner is so good that we have a wonderful stay and she treated us as 5 star Hotel, exceeded our expectations, the breakfast experience was outrageous and the house was clean, organize and feel safe. If we have to return to this place, we don’t hesitate to stay again and we recommend it to anyone to stay at this place, we have fresh towels for every day and even do we don’t are in a family house,  we have full privacy. Excellent place to stay.

Family wedding

The location of the Ducote-Williams House is great. The hostess is very unusual and interesting and tried to be very accommodating. She had lots of good advice about where to eat and what sights to see. Breakfast was good. You must like to be totally surrounded by pictures, memorabilia, plaques and miscellaneous of the last 100 or so years to appreciate the ambiance. We stayed on the 2nd floor in what we presume was an attic room with 2 double beds, separated by a short divider. We had hoped to sleep in one bed but one mattress was a bit hard and the other a bit elevated and wobbly. The room had an old clawfoot tub and a separate room for the commode. There were a couple of comfortable old chairs and there were books, clothes and lots of stuff everywhere else. The decor was very eclectic and busy pretty much as shown in the photos. We did not stay as long as we had thought to originally.

Lots of stuff!

I recently spent a weekend at the Ducote-Williams House.  Wine and snacks greeted me upon arrival.  Such a nice touch!  The house is a visual treat--so much to look at, and spotlessly clean! Dianna has so many interesting collections!  Each morning I enjoyed a hot gourmet breakfast and the company of the sweetest innkeeper ever!  I loved hearing about the history of the house.  Once Dianna found out that I had planned to scope out the antique places in town, she offered to show me around to all of them--AND MORE.  It was like having my very own tour guide.  She took time out of her busy weekend to do that, and that meant so much to me! My stay was absolutely wonderful, and I cannot wait to go back.  I highly recommend a visit to see Dianna and The Ducote-Williams House.

Wonderful weekend at The Ducote-Williams House!!!

It is quite a shock when you first walk into the house, as every wall is completely covered in art or antiques. And then once your eyes have adjusted to that and your brain catches up, you notice every room is jam-packed with antique furniture, glassware, knick-knacks etc. It looks like a movie set for a strange thriller.
Dianna is an incredible host as well. She welcomed us with a bottle of wine and dessert (after having given us great directions for where to go to dinner). She was the perfect host, not in your face but very welcoming and informative. Breakfast was huge, and it was lovely sitting in her kitchen talking to her and her assistant Ivy (and the 3 cats) and getting a real understanding about them, their lives and Louisiana in general.
Then her genorosity wentabove and beyond as she shared her nieces music with us, giving us a copy of the Cd and some home-made preserves as we left

Mind-blowing decor- unforgettable

My fiancee and I stayed here when we were in Abbeville attending a friend's wedding just a few blocks down the road.  Dianna was most welcoming, with wine and snacks at the ready right after setting down our bags.  We stayed in the "Angel Room" downstairs, which was a perfect spot for two people.  The next morning, she had a delicious breakfast prepared with a feast of local fares.  We dined in the kitchen while Dianna entertained us with her wonderful personality.  She really is the hostess with the mostess, and we are happy to recommend the Ducote-Williams house to all who are looking for a well-priced, interesting getaway that definitely beats a hotel.
