A literal house of horrors. The whole place is covered in filth. Stepped over broken glass to get into my “suite” which was a room with a shower and toilet in the corner of the room.  There were people riding four wheelers and drinking in the yard all day. The pool may have been nice 20 years ago but needs serious help. I didn’t want to stay the rest of the week but the lady refused any type of refund. I ended up going to a hotel closet to Boston. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

House of Horrors

I went about a month ago. This was a life-changing experience however, well I was trying to sleep via person. I’m not sure who he was but he was very short had short, great hair and big round glasses. I’ll never forget him he kept peeking through my window of us, as I was trying to sleep and change This stay with spiritual awakening he brought me back to my hometown in India Mumbai, the smell of pot through the air in the brown stains on the bedsheets. It was truly beautiful and open my third eye, and exposed my chakras.

LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE

We cannot complain about the establishment because we did not stay there. The ratings the place received being predominantly "terrible" is a true reflection of our experience with the owner. The honesty and integrity of this establishment leaves much to desire. My wife made a booking through bookings.com for a stay there in July 2016. Our card was debited immediately. Due to a change in our travel plans beyond our control my wife cancelled the booking within a few days but still more than 7 weeks before we were due to arrive. An email was written to Joan (owner) and she assured my wife that despite the non-refundable policy (that my wife only found out after making the booking) she will refund the USD650 we paid. 
It is now middle of October and she has ceased all communications with us and refused to refund after initially indicating that she would. 
Travellers should be aware of the fact before making a booking there that the entire booking is non-refundable and the actions of the owner after she promised to cancel and refund. I can make a full record available of the correspondence to tripadvisor or to anyone interested in order to back up this serious allegation.

Warning

I enjoyed staying in this quaint old house which reminded me of the homesteads in the Jersey farmland when I was growing up. The inn keepers were nearby but not intrusive. The Wifi was outstanding (very important for me). Forewarned by other reviewers, I brought my own towels and sheets, but the ones provided also were fine. The locks were easy to open, I felt safe, and some amenities (iron, TV, water boiler) were provided. Reasonably clean (especially bathroom), probably on a par with a lived-in home.

On the downside, I was advised upon checking in that the hot water did not appear to be working. This remained a fact for the four nights I stayed, but, after all, my alternative plan had been to stay at a hostel or campground, so it wasn't a major hardship (in the summer). Perhaps if I had nagged more, the hot water would have been restored, but frankly, I just didn't care.

All in all, I liked the homey atmosphere, the middle-class antiques, and the table and chairs on the veranda. Would have liked hot water and breakfast, but, seriously, the price was fantastic!

Brings back childhood memories

Maybe I will start that I am not from the USA and perhaps for us citizens the conditions are very bad. I have read many negative information about this place but it was not that bad. Don't try to call there, there is not a normal place 😉 you will find your key in the envelope. The place is old, has a strange smell. The Wi-fi works great, there is a hot water, towels and old fashioned look. It was very interesting and cheap. Next time I would choose the same place

Actually these is not a hotel .. Its kind of private house renting there rooms ... The smell is bad .. The lights is damaged.. The reception always not there ... They said WI- FI available but the truth its only available in the parking!!!

But still good price comparing to Boston Hotels 

Bad hotel

The Boston area can be very expensive so finding this hotel seemed like a good deal considering the price and location. It wasn´t. Everything creaked, it was full of bugs (including a wasp hive in the air conditioning) the electricity went out, and the pool was un-useable. 
I wouldn´t recomend this hotel at all, don´t be deceived by the nice looking exterior. and much less by the foto of the room featured on various websites, it isnt real.
The place is really cheap, but have some self respect and go anywhere else.
