Not Route 66 Era at all. Clean but patched together room. $54. Outdated colors of maroon, rose, green, teal. No odors.  Dated, tired furniture and fixtures. Awkwardly placed just below eye-level 1980s style wallpaper border with a piece of it cut out and cellophane taped to bathroom door as decoration. Cold, quiet AC. Plenty of hot water. Direct TV. Updated carpet, flat screen tv, microwave, refrigerator. Comfy king bed. Worn comforter. 4 pillows. Salvaged mismatched cabinet with Formica top holds bar sink, fridge and microwave. Vanity broken from wall. One light bulb in 3-bulb fixture over vanity. Rocky toilet. Mystery panels habe been added to box-off part of closet. 

Disappointment 

My family and I recently stayed in the Safari room at the hotel.  The room smelled like mildew.  We all got congested, itchy eyes, etc.  The room wasn't dirty, just musty and moldy.  The air conditioner blew out moist, smelly, mildew like air.  The owner/manager was very nice, but I would definitely not stay there again.

Disappointing

We stayed here because there were some good reviews. We are doing Route 66 and wanted to stay in some authentic motels along the Route. Room was clean and price was good. Only about $50/night. We got a theme room. The Elvis Presley. It is definitely kitschy. The beds were fairly comfortable. There was a microwave and fridge also which was nice. Now the bad. The water did not drain from the shower or sink. No box of tissues. I do use them when traveling and they are nice to have. The towels were extremely threadbare. Need to be replaced.  The owner called us at 10:20 am and asked us if we wanted an extra day. Apparently checkout is at 10:30 am. I have never seen that before. He was also extremely rude at check in and when he called. 

Get up early!

To say dirty is to say nothing. Smelly rooms, used towels, dirty bedding, the carpet that didn't see a vacuum cleaner since the gold rush era. We realized that cleaning wasn't the highlight of this motel from the penetrating garlic smell of the reception. We ran out early in the morning, unable to shower so badly. The bathroom conditions were disgusting.

At risk of illness

We stayed in a purple Elvis room.   Room was fine; I developed gastroenteritis while there.   There are very few choices for dining and very few comforts nearby.   I wanted to stay in a small town, and this was comfortable, but I wish I'd driven on into a city.

Kitschy

Because of recent good reviews on another site we stayed here overnight. Please do not make that same error. Where do I start. The people were nice enough but room was dirty. Smoke alarm battery gone. No hot water or water pressure. Sink was old and cracked and rusted. Had to beg to get another hand towel as there was only one. Huge hole on ceiling in closet area. Sheets stained and ripped. Mattress pad lumpy. Chairs dirty.  Heater did not work properly and it was a cold night. Either too hot or too cold. Mini blinds  broken. Didn't want to walk on carpet it was so gross. Someone else's trash was under bed valance. Toilet was loose from floor. Only one light bulb in three bulb fixture. We asked for more and could not get anymore.  Room very dark. Very low wattage bulbs in all lamps.   Door lock old hard to work. No  security chain on door. Bathtub no anti slip strips or interior bath mat to avoid slipping. Bad caulking everywhere.  Charged extra for pets  but dog cleaner than room. Despite what you read elsewhere DO NOT STAY HERE. Probably relatives reviewing. LOL.
