Friendly staff. Management is top notch and very pleasant. Best place to stay in Algona. Clean Hotel. Used to stay at the Americinn as I'm a Wyndham member but I'm willing to give up some rewards points to stay at a nicer property and be treated respectfully.

Best place in Algona

Third time we've stayed at this hotel and is the best place in Emmetsburg for cleanliness, comfort and friendly staff.  Wonderful breakfast and pool area and very quiet environment.  Rooms and bed are comfortable and have microwave and fridge which helps when traveling with a toddler.  High price in my opinion for this type of lodging but best choice in town for cleanliness and newer.  Did find a better rate on hotels.com so that helped

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff

Room was clean and fresh.  Breakfast was generous.  A nice overnight stay. We had a King size bed and it was very comfortable with lots of pillows for T.V watching.  Temperature control was in the room and easy to set.

Nice spot for a wedding overnight

A new hotel with nice rooms, comfy beds and pillows. We got one of the last rooms, a king suite, nice and spacious. Be aware there is no elevator. Parking is no problem, but the hotel entrance is tricky...you enter through the grocery store parking lot. Entering the hotel is a very nice and spacious lobby that extends into the breakfast area. Breakfast has your standard entrees, just fine. Definitely recommend!

Very nice

Stayed 3 nights to attend a family wedding. Cons: Low shower pressure. Breakfast items basically nonexistent one morning, didn't bother the other mornings. Unable to find staff at times, but that might be due to current labor shortage. Pros: Very clean. Beds very comfortable. That's what matters when you're traveling for work or family events, right?

Clean room, comfortable bed

Brookstone L&S offers clean rooms and a pretty affordable price if you’re in Algona for the night. The property is very clean and well maintained- I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. You won’t find anything above and beyond the basics, but just about everything you for a short stay. 

The rooms are clean and comfortable, TV channel options are good, microwave, refrigerator, and a comfortable bed. I opted for the king suite and it was a very nice room with extra space. 

The staff was courteous and welcoming, and check in was simple. The hotel was fairly empty on a Wednesday, so it was pretty quiet. Not many dining options nearby (see my review on Emerald’s) other than the restaurant across the street, but I’m sure there were others nearby. 

No bottled water (other than the vending machine), and the front desk did “warn” us, saying “I wouldn’t drink the tap water”... a little strange to tell a guest, but maybe good advice! 

I also notice there wasn’t an elevator- my guess being the first floor is reserved for guests that may normally require one. 

Other than that, all was good. If I ever happen to be in Algona for the night, I would stay again (and skip Emerald’s).

Pretty good option in a small town

We stayed in town for a family wedding. The block room rate was great. Our venue was near by so easy to get into the hotel. Clean rooms, very nice showers. The continental breakfast was delicious and accommodated a large group of people at one time. 

Positive Wedding Stay

This is a newer hotel in Algona. Its decorated very nice and the staff is also extremely nice. I took off a point because the walls of the hotel are very paper thin. We got to hear our  neighbors tv til midnight one night. It wasn't that his tv was up extremely loud  just that it sat next to the wall which also shared our beds. Also I would love to see this motel get a pool. If it had a pool I would have rated it a 5. I know it's not the motels fault that it doesn't have one, but if it did, it would have been an exceptional bonus. The morning breakfast was decent, nothing special, but it did fill you up for your day.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The only drawback was that the door frames are metal and whenever someone closed a door anywhere on the floor, it was very loud. Thankfully, I didn’t hear much after 10:30, but I heard the early risers at 4:30 am!  Breakfast was good and the area was clean. Unfortunately, the hotel is not requiring masking of guests or even the hotel staff. 

Nice but noisy

As per the state rules, no one was wearing a mask as if after 500,000 people already dead, the pandemic was not real. There seemed to be some conference going on locally as there were a lot of comings and goings of people so the nonchalant attitude that everyone seemed to diplay was a bit worrisome. We were definitely the 'odd ones' wearing masks. The breakfast was very basic. The room/bathroom was clean. The bathroom lock was broken though and did not work.
