I came in for one night and something came up where I needed another week they weren’t going to clean my room based on the promise if come back at six pm to pay for the extra week I came into my room being too top shape bed made and so homey o went into the office to get my keys only to find out they were brand new owners and they were so friendly and accommodating it was beyond belief I rate this place 5 out of 5 and you can’t beat the price and the friendliness was incomparable it’s clean homey and well taken care of thank you guys your off to a great start!!!!!

Best experience ever!!!!!

Beat our expectations!  The rooms were so very clean which is great. Toilet flushed, shower and sink worked and drained. A/C unit worked and the heater worked,  most excellent maintenance.  The room was decorated very nice and the beds were sleep-able. 
   We loved that it came with a beach sitting area which included a nice firepit, we really used this feature. The beach was very clean and sandy.  On the backside of the motel is a mini golf course and a most excellent city beach/park, great for the young'uns and just a very short walk, just a few steps.
  Our hosts Brenda and Calli(?) Were SUPER, had a great stay.

Our new go to place in Alpena. 

NOT AT ALL AS PICTURED ON THE WEBSITE!!! NOBODY!!! was ever in the office, had to call an answering service to find out which room, and code to unlock the key box. Bed was missing the box spring, basically a worn out mattress on the ground. NEVER saw anyone working there, know now why we were the only ones there… 

Terrible 

Avoid. Rooms smell of cigarettes and beer. Stale isn't the word. Bathrooms not clean, moldy, dusty; shower and tub not cleaned. Ceilings cracked, sagging, floor sags around toilet. It's a dump. Avoid. $99 per room per night not worth it.

Dump and Smells

We needed a room on short notice and decided to stay here. The room was clean and simple.  It was definitely worth the price. We were conveniently located so coffee and food was right around the corner. The owner was very friendly and helpful. This is my new favorite place to stay in Alpena.  I can't wait to stay here again!!!

Loved the view!!!!

We stayed in the condo unit on the end, right on the water. BIGGEST WASTE OF $1300 EVER. 

Customer service is non-existent; management is disorganized and has poor communication. 

Wifi goes out every ten to fifteen minutes, Management told us to call Internet Service Provider rather than him fixing the problem. 

Ice cold basement and 80 degree upstairs; Management dismissed this concern. 

Massive spider problem. I understand that spiders are worse right next to the water but this was an unacceptable level. Management told my Mother In Law to "stop being squeamish". We spent the money ($10 ish?) and time (about an hour) to spray the windows and perimeter of the Condo ourselves and the problem went away. This easily could have, and should have been done by management. 

Too many other minor problems to name... broken faucets, windows and doors that won't lock, a stove that takes over half an hour to boil water... management blew us off every step of the way. 

We will not be back, ever. These concerns were brought up AGAIN upon checkout, the deposit was not returned and we were basically told to go screw ourselves.

Not Worth The Money

I wish I could add a higher rating. At the risk of others discovering this place making it tough to get in next time, I must say this was a PERFECT experience. We reserved the house right on the lake for some relatives for a week, and it was amazing. The owner, John, could NOT have been more accommodating, helpful, and charming. The house was perfectly immaculate, had super amenities, just stunning. We will be there again for sure!

Fantastic, wonderful, wish I could rate higher!

The rooms are clean and so inexpensive, located right on Lake Huron! The owner is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. we very much enjoyed our stay. I rated it 5 stars for a small inexpensive motel, it is not the Hilton but at this price, it is a great value. Rooms have a microwave, fridge and very effective A/C.
