We booked a room for 4 people, but only 2 sets of towels are provided, there is no facial tissue in the facial tissue box, only an empty box, no one refill it, it was empty when we came, we stayed for 2 nights, but still no one refill it. They only provided soap and shampoo, but no conditioner. The shower still hot even you turned to the cold side, while the air-conditioner still cold even you turned to 72 degF. No one refill shampoo or facial tissue on next day. There is no freezer compartment in the fridge. No breakfast provided.

Good basic accommodation. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and noises were heard in the room. The breakfast was comprehensive but the oatmeal was missing. Otherwise I can recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel in the middle of Amherst

Rodeway Inn in Amherst is great place to stay. Great value for your money. Staff are friendly and helpful. Located near great shopping & restaurants.  Would definitely recommend to anyone. We always enjoy ourselves there.

Great Place

I stayed weekdays ($60/night) when place is empty. Great wifi. Good water pressure. Good AC. Great TV channels (free on demand). Nice stafg. Best thing about the motel is the traffic light that gets you out onto a very busy Niagara Falls Blvd. Room smelled like an old, dirty vacuum cleaner at first but that dissipated.

Good Weekday Value

You get exactly what you pay. There is nothing to boast of but also nothing to crib about. Best part is your car will go exactly to the door of the room. So no need to carry your luggage to the room. So staying for one day is ok.

Average Hotel

my room had bugs, very dusty, behind beds and ceiling, no phone in room.  Breaks was cheap and skimpy.  The Internet got taken away in the mornings before 9am  and at least 1.5 hours before check out.  I checked into the motel after 9pm and to be treated this way I was not happy after paying $118 USD!

This is more of a motel, not a hotel

Mediocre at best. Check in was fine. Rooms are non-smoking but wreaked of cigarette smoke. Stains on all of the furniture. Very loud at night as the hotel is only one floor so you hear cars and doors all night. Doors are not sealed properly so lots of light comes in. Windows don't open so you cannot air the room out. Sheets felt damp and sticky. Breakfast was a joke. Bagels or toast with butter or jam. Two kinds of cereal. Waffle maker...looked promising but tried two different times and they were still raw in the middle. Better off to go to Tim Hortons down the street (which we did). No bed bugs or anything, but ultimately did not feel clean. You get what you pay for.

Don't Expect Much

Staff was very friendly, check-in and out was quick. Room was clean. The room was suppose to have queen beds, but were full size which are 6" more narrow and 5" shorter ( King rooms were all booked). This was an issue for me because I am tall. Seems to be a thing now with Choice Hotels swapping full for queen.  Breakfast was good. besides the usual cereal, donuts, waffles they had hard boiled eggs for meat. They don't have an octagon for fighting, but we didn't have time for it anyway. :-)

Good value

To be honest we weren't expecting much as this is the low end of the market.
The unpainted parts of the lobby were already a warning sign.
The room itself was well sized and in reasonable condition. The windows don't open as the frames were painted together with the windows. The inner washroom door was removed so the outer sink can't be used while someone is using the washroom.
The breakfast was one of the worst I have had at any motel - you can see how they are pushing cheapness to the limit. Most you can expect is a bagel and a cup of coffee - otherwise go eat somewhere (there is no complimentary coffee other than at breakfast).

Although we booked a single queen we were given 2 double beds, but we were too tired to argue about it.

My main concern is with the bill - my wife noticed that the sum was a bit off from what we booked - when confronted about the additional 'Miscellaneous' charge of $1 that was added without explanation we were told it was for the key card (in case we didn't return it) and they removed the charge.
I guess they figure most people won't pay attention or wouldn't want to confront them for that sum and they can get away with it in most cases (they probably make an extra 20-40$ a day from this practice).

We only got 1 (used) keycard for the room - for those who don't know, the magnetic strip holds personal info so you may want to think twice about giving it back - or at least make sure they wipe it magnetically before you leave.

I'm surprised at Choice Hotels for not keeping up their standards better.

Not good value for your money! also beware sneaky charges

It suited us for our needs. We laughed that they actually use Target shopping carts for cleaning rooms. Potato bugs in the room. Bathroom smelled like rotting fish. Beds were fine and slept well. Breakfast was fine and management was nice.
