Good: Clean room, comfy bed, nice staff.

Bad: No microwave. Could rent a fridge if any available. Continental breakfast was ok. No room service. Food court closes at 6pm. No USB ports. Thermostat difficult to control. Could hear voices through the walls and from the halls due to door gap and toilets flushing. Weird dirty looking cement building. 

Hotel Was Ok

Great hotel in a convenient location!  Pros:  easy access to the campus, quiet, great student (and visitor) dining options in the same building.  The room was very clean and quiet.  The bed was extremely comfortable, and the pillows are super fluffy and abundant.  Cons:  TOO COLD.  I got to my room and it was 66 degrees.  I quickly found the thermostat does absolutely nothing.  One morning I woke up and it was a comfortable 74 degrees in the room, but the temperature more often hovered around 69 degrees.  I made frequent trips outside to warm up.  Also there's a 2" gap under the door to the hallway.  Conversations easily travel under the gap.  I feel like a small autonomous robot could easily access the room by scooting under the door.

We were attending an event (Antiquarian book fair)  located on campus and this was extremely convenient! Our room was very clean, bed comfortable, and amazing view!  There are many very good food options in the building too. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend. Check in was easy, with friendly service! Continental breakfast was fine, very good pastries. Our casual interactions with students were very pleasant!

Clean, comfortable and convenient!

We had been to 5 hotels on this trip and this was the most expensive and worst one! It wasn’t very clean, loud heater and the worst breakfast ever! They had hard bagels you stick in the toaster yourself. The pasties were also hard and stale. And that was your only option. We went to buy breakfast our second day.

Worst breakfast ever!

No organization at all. Over an hour wait to check in. Only one staffer on to handle a long line of check ins. Tried calling Lamar the general manager of this award winning mess and of course no answer. Not sure why we don’t anticipate a crowd with home football game etc…place was crowded and yet no staff.

What a mess!

We stayed at this hotel when visiting Umass to watch a hockey game.  Everything was so easy to get to including Amherst.  Very new and clean with modern amenities like refillable bottles and clean air filters.  bathrooms are small but spotless.  Don't need to go outside to get to garage or many eating options downstairs.

Perfect hotel on Umass campus

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the UMass hotel for a conference.  I was disappointed both times.  The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable with a palpable ridge all the way up the middle of the bed.  The bathroom was totally inadequate - it was so small that you could not sit on the toilet without closing the bathroom door.  My room was two doors down from the extremely loud bank of elevators, which kept me awake all night (I had requested a room away from the elevators). 

I was booked for a 2-night stay, but missed night #1 when my car broke down.  I called the hotel at the time, and asked that the first night's stay be waived as a courtesy for circumstances beyond my control.  I asked again when I arrived, and again when I checked out.  The manager ignored my 3 attempts to communicate directly with him and no courtesy accommodation was made.  Apparently he is too busy to bother with guests.

A very disappointing hotel all round.

Uncomfortable and Noisy, and Unaccommodating

With current construction it is difficult to find the hotel if you strictly follow your Apple or Google maps. When you get to campus follow the campus signs for HOTEL UMASS.

As for the hotel, the underground parking is rather convenient but the ramp is very busy with students. Be sure to slow down. 

My room was relatively comfortable but the heating unit made the room very, very dry. The bathroom is quite small considering the room has two Queen size beds to sleep up to four. Four occupants would be too cozy.

The front office staff is helpful and the continental breakfast and beverage service is very nicely done.

Don't follow your Apple/Google maps.

My friend and I were in the area to attend a Baby Shower and stayed over night.  It was excellent.  The room with a view was very nice!  Devin at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.  He not only recommended a restaurant for dinner, he made the reservation for us.  I made sure to let the Hostess know as well the Hotel recommended them.  There is plenty of parking in the garage.  When I visit my friends, I will stay there again.

Absolutely Lovely!

Check-in was fine, we arrived late so there was no wait. One thing that wasn't made clear to us was that the empty glass water bottles located in the rooms are there for guests to refill in the lobby should they so chose. 
Our room was a decent size, and yes the bathroom was a tad small, but its mainly laid out in an odd way, with the door opening directly into the bowl of the toilet. 
My two largest gripes would be: 
- the temperature in the room was difficult to control. It was freezing when we checked in (65 degrees for a mid-October night) and then took a long time for the thermostat to reach the desired temperature.
- The pillows are as firm as the mattresses, which is to say it felt a bit like having a brick under my head the three nights we were there. 

I'd stay there again, if we find ourselves in the area.
