Very gracious host. Very helpful on anything we needed. Very quiet, neat, and close to great shoreline walk. We fell in love with her. Just a great experience. We will definitely stay when we come back to Alaska.

Me and my buddy just landed at 5 a.m. for a week long touring Adventure through Alaska, we had 10 hours to kill before our hotel reservation and desperately wanted somewhere to crash after getting off the plane. We called this place up to see if we could get a room for the day. a nice fellow named Jeff answer the phone I explained the situation he said come on down. We got here to find Jeff cooking up some breakfast for the other guests in a kitchen that felt just like home. Jeff was kind enough to offer to let us stay on the couch for a bit or rent a room. At this point the vibe was so hospitable that I just wanted to cancel my reservation stay here. I will definitely stay here every time I visit Alaska now. Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Great place ~ the owner Dr. French & Jeff are delightful. Jeff lives in the Red Bus out front he is fixing up. Inside the rooms are nicely appointed and super comfortable. Had no problem going to sleep with the great curtains that kept the mid-night sun at bay. If you are going Flight Seeing, Bear viewing e.g. they are 5 minutes from the float plane airport. Down the street, is Earthquake park where we had CLOSE encounters with Bull Moose ~ Awesome.

Super Location ~ Super Friendly

Frenchy's is clean, comfortable and very accommodating.  Jeff fixes a great breakfast of eggs (made to order), hash browns, bacon, toast and coffee.  We stayed four nights and sharing a bathroom was never an issue.  Close to Earthquake Park and a short walk to a paved path next to the water.

Friendly, Comfortable Stay

I liked our stay at Frenchys but my wife complained about how tiny our rooms were and the shared bathrooms. To be fair, we knew about the shared bathrooms. Overall, the stay was okay and I would have given it three stars. But ill like to add an extra star for the yummy breakfast and the great conversations we had with the hosts and other folks staying there.

Average stay but excellent breakfast

We stayed here for a few days and made this our base camp as we did a lot of day trips and the location between downtown with the train station and the airport was perfect for that! Not far from Frenchy’s is the Earthquake Park, where you have the best view of the Anchorage skyline and you could spot some moose! Frenchy and Jeff were wonderful and gave us many tips and even jackets when I lost mine. Felt like we were family. During our entire Alaska trip Jeff’s breakfast was the best. The rooms are small and there are shared bathrooms, but everything was super clean and we hardly heard the other guests. Would definitely come again!
