We were traveling to Alaska for a cruise and needed a place to stay for 1 night. Longhouse had that Alaskan charm we were looking for. They provided transportation from the airport and to the the train the next morning. The staff was friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend.

Just what we wanted

The services was very poor...we had no cleaning of the room. They picked up the towels at 5 pm and could not replace them until after 7.30 pm. The breakfast was a joke with most things gone by the time we came down at 8 am when they were supposed to serve breakfast from 06.30-9.30 you expect food to still be available during that time.
Only one shuttle bus every hour to the airport.
No working AC so window had to be open and lots of heavy transport planes taking off/landing...

Bad service!

Sounded like a good place. Easy to the airport and less expensive than a lot of other Anchorage hotels. The website pictures are not accurate. The hotel is old and not well maintained. It is cheap in all versions of the word. "Continental breakfast" limited to DYI pancakes ( a mix), and some pastries. Rooms were reasonably cleaned, but once you check in, all you get is trash out and fresh towels. TV, microwave and small refrigerator in the rooms. Some are missing one or another of these. TV was old and small.

No air conditioning and not all of the windows open. We were lucky the weather was not hot.

You will not want to spend much time here, but on vacation, you wouldn't be in a hotel room anyway.

Cheap place to stay. Clean enough, but you can't be fussy.

Big mistake ... please read all reviews before you book here and head the advice shared.  We chose this place because it had same-day availability for just the one night we needed and a free airport shuttle!  Shuttle driver was kind but that's the only compliment I can give this hotel.  We waited for over an hour at the airport for the hotel to even answer their phone so we could request the shuttle and then another 30-45 minutes for it to arrive.  The front desk clerk couldn't find our reservation, despite us having a confirmation number, and seemed inconvenienced that we were checking in.  Our room was old and run down, pillows were more like a placemat, and our room had been cleaned around the bed, but not under it ... gross!  It was hard to get any sleep as we could heard every noise from the parking lot.  Please stay at your own risk but next time I'll save some $$ and book elsewhere.

Never Again!

I booked this online through booking.com.  Pictures and reviews looked ok as we were only staying one night and would be getting in late afternoon after a long flight.  Needless to say, we were very disappointed.  Front desk staff was not there when I first got there and had to wait a while before he returned.  He asked if we wanted a room with a ceiling fan as there were not many fans available.  Yes of course.  Room was very small which was not a problem, no soap in the room, ceiling fan sounded like it was going to fall off the ceiling if you tried to run higher than the lowest speed. Carpets in the hall and stairs were dirty.  Sheets looked questionable as to whether or not they had been changed and the pillows were so flat they were almost unusable.  Front desk the next morning said she would note the issues and suggested I call the manager later.  I inquired as to why I was charged $160 when the rate for the day we were there was $125 which was still too much.  I did call the manager and he was rude to me and asked me why I didn't report it that night. Explained we were beat and just wanted to sleep as we had a long drive the next day.  He did say he would fix the fan.  I wish I had read the reviews a little more closely.
