Booked hotel room for $44 with rewards points. Drove 3.5 hours to stay one night for an event in the area the next day. Had done this previously 3 times with no issue.

After checking in, we went to sleep at 9pm only to be awakened by first our hotel phone ringing (which was promptly ignored, given the time) then my wife's cell phone.

Someone has screwed up and given us the wrong room and was now telling us we could either switch rooms on the spot or be charged almost $200.
I won't get into the unpleasantries we had to go through with the front desk, but by 11:30, we had checked out and drove another 30 minutes to a different hotel in Carbondale.

We were still charged the almost $200 anyway and now have to seek a refund through Super 8 corporate.
We never had any illusions of the quality of hotel this was...it's a 2-star facility. But this is, by far, the worst hotel you could stay at in the surrounding area.
It's dirty, smells like an ashtray, and apparently, will screw you out of your room hours after the fact to cover their employees' mistakes.

Just pay a little more or drive a little further and save yourself the hassle. To be blunt, this place sucks.

Horrible "Hotel"

The rooms were filthy and we could tell they hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in a very long time. There is definitely criminal activity going on in this hotel, and there were a couple sketchy characters milling around. On top of that, we barley slept because the people above us and beside us were so loud from midnight to about 3am, and the front desk wouldn’t do much about it. Stay in a tent before you stay here, you’ll sleep better. 

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in 

This was a very bad experience that we had while staying at the Wyndham Super 8 motel in Anna IL.  Staff was friendly and very helpful, but the rooms were terrible.  We were very inconvenienced during our one night stay.  Because we are in a pandemic, I would think that Super 8 would take extra precaution to ensure that the room are properly cleaned and disinfected. They did have coffee and rolls for breakfast.

Super 8 Horror

Stayed for two nights due to a death in the family and we had to take our dog. Best thing was they let us take our dog. Floor had wrappers on it and we just cleaned then up ourselves and then we found food crumbs. There was nothing but prepackaged pastry and coffee for breakfast, that's not breakfast. There was a strange odor in the hall. TV sets in lobby and fitness center "didn't work". 

Stay somewhere else if you can. Yuck!

Not Good

We didn’t receive a password for the internet.  Hair dryer didn’t work.  Key cards stopped working halfway through the night.  Candy wrappers on the floor.  But worst part??? There was human feces on the bed that the maids made up all nice!  Stuck my hand in it before I realized it. Wasn’t even offered a new room.  I was given a sorry about the poop here’s a new cover.  Paid for two rooms and none of us were able to sleep!  Do NOT stay here.

Absolutely do not stay here! Room cover was dirty and stained, rude staff and pool was not available it had no water. No parking, pot holes, room was unserviced,    way overpriced for what you get, consider the next town to stay. 

Horrible

So where do I start? We arrived at 2am on spring forward night which means upon arrival time changed to 3am... we were able to check in successfully. There was a drink dispenser offering something that looked like sweet tea... I was so happy to see this and I got a cup and as I started pouring the stuff that came out smelled so terrible I didn’t even have the nerve to taste it. From the smell of the tea it had been sitting at room temp for several days at least. We got to the room... the pillows were terrible and tiny. The beds were full size not queen and there were throw pillow sized pillows on the bed... that’s it. Not a single standard size pillow in the room. They were also flat. The box spring was showing from the sides and the cover on it had several ripped places... the room looked as though it had been thru the ringer a few times. We were tired. Now mind you I have platinum status with the loyalty program which boasts late check out.. we requested late check out. At 11:05 the lady from front desk was knocking on the door and said we could have until 11:30 to be out... 11:30? Thirty minutes? Late check out with my status has never been only 30 minutes? They offer no respect for loyalty here... the hair dryer didn’t even work. We requested a hair dryer with front desk and they took us to another room instead of offering a working hair dryer. There were shoes under the sink in the other room. Not sure who they belonged to or if the room was checked out or what... the only person to be remotely nice at all was the housekeeper. She actually apologized for the experience and noted that she felt the incident was embarrassing. This was not my worst ever experience in a hotel period but it was bad enough that I’ll never stay there again. Oh. Upon leaving there was someone sitting in the parking lot smoking marijuana... my kids did see this and smell it as we had to walk by it to get to our car.

The rooms are clean but if it’s chilly, don’t try the heater or it will stink up the room. Breakfast is next to nothing, you would do better at a gas station. The pool has no water. The exterior doors never require a key card - all night too. Very overpriced! 

Drive another half hour and stay somewhere else

Because of a family funeral we needed a place to stay in Anna, IL. The town is delightful and we appreciated the convenient location. My only disappointment was that my charging cube and cord were left behind and couldn’t be located two hours after our departure.

Great first impression of property by the warm yet professional and accurate checkin.  Room very comfortable, well-appointed, and clean.  Check out simple and fast.  Would recommend this property for all travelers both business and personal
