I stayed here for 1 night for a work meeting. There was construction at the time so check-in was a bit confusing as it was in a random location. The room itself was nice, felt a tad outdated. I had a king size bed. Clean bathroom, comfortable bed. The views of the lake are stellar. It is a bit of a drive to town (12-15 mins to Starbucks). The meeting/conference building was very very nice, though.

I really, really like this place. I visit an office in Albany, Georgia. I don't want to stay in Albany, its not all that relaxing. This is great! It's about a 35 minute drive to Albany, but pretty close to a lot of other cities. It's laid back, they have bicycles you can borrow, low cost canoeing, you can fish, they have a dockside bar - way better than staying in the city! 

Nice and relaxing

We stayed in the campground.  Well maintained.  Spacious sites.  The bathrooms were clean.  The laundromat functional and easily available.  We loved riding our bicycles through the park.  The marina restaurant was a real treat.

Repeat customers, first time in cabins. Full kitchen and two bedrooms was more than we needed for an overnight stay but we will be back with a larger group to take advantage of everything the resort has to offer. Loved the screened porch with rocking chairs.

Calm, quiet, natural setting close to lake front beach and marina. 

Stayed in one of the cottages/cabins at the resort.  We were there helping with the BBQ Festival.  Nice spacious cabin.  Very clean & well maintained. Some cleanup along the shore line to open up a better view of the lake would be nice.  Beds were comfortable, but the pillows were not.  Would certainly stay there again.
A couple of suggestions for improvement:
Better pillows:
A couple of stools/ottomans in the living room. The two chars are nice but being able to prop your feet up would make it so much better. 


Cottage/Cabins: Nice spacious & clean

This was our second stay here. Campsites are lovely and spacious, but there are other things that may prevent us from returning. First, there are three bath houses. The two older ones needed an upgrade 10-15 years ago. We were informed that the newer one was closed because it had sewage back flow from not pumping the septic tank on time. It never reopened during our stay. 
There is also a resort and restaurant on these grounds. Both were closed. The resort villas seemed to be in a state of disrepair with large sections of siding missing on multiple buildings. 
All of the electrical service, both outside the villas and throughout the campground seemed dangerous. Wire buried underground without protective conduit, broken receptacles, and rusting and/or exposed wires on the lake docks. Refer to pictures posted.
Georgia has a beautiful gem here with lots of enjoyable activities, but it appears to be trending toward dilapidation.

Lovely location but not maintained

The staff here is great - Quincy and Laura.  I had a villa - the room was large had a 
balcony great view of the water.  Being here is like going on a vacation.  It was a 
very peaceful stay - nice getting away from everything.  The resort offers an on site
restaurant, boat rentals, a bar and swimming on site.  The immediate area offers
restaurants that are nearby - try Poncho's.  The maintenance man Gabe was great a wealth of information.  The staff here really cares about the guest.  The rooms 
do not have microwaves, the coffeemaker did not work.  The beds were very comfortable.  Liked the way the dogs were in specific villas.  The rooms also offer
two bottles of water.  The clocks needed to be changed in the rooms.  The rooms
need to be blocked for preventive maintenance on a regular basis.  This resort 
is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  This is my
new "to go" place - will be back here - continued success.

A Hidden Gem !!

Cordelia's on site restaurant. August 11, 2022. First timers. Decided to have a bite before our conference began. My wife ordered: The side salad and the Tomato Bisque soup. Great pairing. She was served a large crock of piping hot tomatoey goodness. Creamy but the tomato really showed its stuff. Had exactly the right texture. Not pureed. Lovely tomato color and flavor. The Side Salad could rival entree salads we've eaten at other places. Very fresh mixed greens, and fresh toppings. Whole grape tomatoes and cucumber plus other topping. Really good salad. Did I mention that Missy was our server. Now on to my order. I ordered the shredded roast pork sandwich. Smothered in gooey melted mozzarella cheese with a dollop of horseradish sauce. Great sandwich. Lots of shredded pork. Lots of cheese. Just the way I liked it. The made in house potato chips put this over the top. I would order all of this again. Missy did a great job serving. She is very pleasant and friendly. Kudos to everyone for making this dining experience memorable. 

Great food here at the resort.

We reserved this resort to celebrate my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary. We often select State Park Resorts throughout the country (as well as many upscale resorts) to celebrate this sentimental occasion. After doing hours of research online, Lake Blackshear Resort appeared to offer us the perfect place for outdoor recreation, golf, lake activities, restaurants, and excursions by train and lake cruises. The Military Museum and "Miss Staten Island" WWII tank were especially of interest to me, a former Staten Islander!  I'm not usually one to give poor reviews, but please think twice before booking this resort.

A Huge Disappointment -- All About Image and Nothing About Guest Service

I loved this place so awesome and beautiful and I love the guy at the desk Rodney Wilson ! He is so sweet and nice and funny ! will be going back ! Everytime I go there he has been in there and he makes me laugh !
